Awesome bar to start or end your night out. If you are staying at Hotel Le Marais this is the bar where you cash in your complementary drink. While it is quiet, we were never bothered by this. However, we were a group of 4 so we were entertaining each other. I even made a friend at the bar that we kept running into during our stay! On the day i checked in we headed to the bar to cash in our complementary drink i went with the Bubbly Vive — Chombard and Champagne! Talk about a celebration! These will sneak up on you so take it easy. I also enjoyed one of the best drinks I’ve ever had, St Catherine(unfortunately I did not take a pic). The bartender turned on the music. He even gave us a complementary snack! We took our second round to the pool. Don’t forget to dump your drink in a plastic cup or ask the bartender to make it in a plastic cup for you. This is a more intimate bar really targeted for the guest of Hotel Le Marias but don’t you let that deter you. You need your room key to gain access to the hotel after 11pm but they have great happy hour specials. This is a beautiful bar with great patio furniture and beautiful lighting at night. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Le marais and enjoyed this bar on each of our visits.

Bartender was nice and friendly! Very helpful with providing local restaurant menu for establishments that deliver after 10:00 pm.

I indulged in the Bubbly Vive and the Pear Violet Martini. Both were fantastic. I love the theme that’s woven through the atmosphere and drink menu. Plush seating and chill vibes make Vive a great place to chill out and chat with a date or friends. This would make a perfect last stop on a bar hopping night, to wind down before heading back to the hotel or late night munchies.

This place is dead and lame. I had high expectations and they were dashed. This is a tiny bar not so tucked away in the lobby of a hotel. No music. Nothing. The people looked like they were lined up at the bar waiting to die. Nothing trendy about this place at all.

If you’ve seen my profile recently, you’ll notice that I’ve been bar hopping all over NOLA! Happy to say that Vive! does NOT disappoint! Who would’ve known that this quiet and quaint little lounge was right off the loud, obnoxious streets of the French Quarter. Especially right near Bourbon! Vive is located in Hotel le Marais and is pretty much catered towards the hotel guests. I came with a friend on a Saturday night, and it wasn’t busy at all. And honestly, no one outside of the hotel would even know of Vive if it weren’t for Unilocal!I immediately fell in love with the ambiance. The lighting is just perfect, and the outdoor pool with comfortable lounge seating is just the icing on the cake! Modern and trendy décor receives an A+ from me! The drinks also are delicious. My girlfriend and I tried the Violet Pear Martini, Bubbly Vive, Southern Peach Tea, and one last drink that included strawberries, sprite, and lemon(my favorite bc it was so fruity!). I wish I could remember the name! All in all, I could definitely see myself coming back here because I love the atmosphere so much. Vive! is not the place if you want a loud and«happening» atmosphere, but perfect for a quiet and relaxing date with a significant other or some best friends.

Stopped in here with some friends at their suggestion. They were trying to earn their Big Night Out badge. Friends of theirs had told them about the bar. I would never have thought to enter the Le Marais hotel to find it. It’s small, fitting for a hotel bar. It’s quiet, as it isn’t available from the street. Just a few people in it that night. The décor is a little modern for my taste, but blends in with the style of the hotel. We stayed in the inside lounge area for the drink as the night was a shade nippy to sit out by the saltwater pool. It was a nice place to sit and enjoy a drink before the friends decided it was time to move on and get their next check-in.

Its a bit of a tiny hotel bar set inside alongside a tiny little swimming pool and patio outside with the two areas being separated by windows and a doorway. They have a lot of posh fluffy chairs with disco lighting done as if they are preparing for a rave. I’ve never been here when this place has had a crowd so it seems on average its a nice calm place to grab a drink in a disco lighting psychedelic environment. Overall its not really my kind of spot and there are a lot of other places I would rather hang out as this place is too trendy and seems out place in the Quarter.

For the purposes of the most difficult research ever known to man, I made repeated visits to Vive!(right up there with having to research deep sea fishing, I suppose) in order to give you the most fair review possible. What I love the most: the ambiance. The giant velvet chairs that you sink into, the low lighting in jewel tones, and of course the option to go out and drink by that glimmering pool. I could do without the TVs, but hey, this way I was able to get a glimpse of the German gymnasts during the Olympics earlier this month. It’s quiet(I like quiet, it’s the girl who always wanted to be a librarian in me) and it is really great for you and three friends(the chairs are sectioned into groups of 4). I noticed the tiny private room off to the side as I was leaving last time. My friends gauchely referred to it as the HJ room. I won’t spell such a vulgar thing out, but I’m sure you can imagine. Now, don’t go ordering up any classics here. Go to Arnaud’s French 75 down the block for that. I prefer to order mixed drinks, but they do have their own cocktail menu. I’ve had the champagne/violette drink which may have been a bit too sweet for the likes of me, but you may like it! Our Jennifer Anistonesque bartendress both times was also as sweet as could be. Lots of sweetness here. I like.

Good hotel bar and great if you just want a quiet trendy place to hangout and drink. Definitely the most low key spot in the neighborhood. Mostly hotel guests from what i saw

This is the hotel bar inside the Le Marais on Conti. Be aware that the bar doesn’t open until 3PM. It shares the modern, bright colored decorating scheme that starts in the lobby of the hotel. The velvety bar stools are comfy and come in a rainbow of colors. The windows look out on the private courtyard where the saltwater pool is located. At night there is neon lighting that gives it a modern martini bar feel. Its location in the hotel off the main drag makes it a very quiet bar. I think it is primarily frequented by hotel guests. The free drink coupons given to us by the hotel at check-in were a great incentive to stop in at least once. It is good for a pre-dinner drink, but there is not much reason to hang out here. The few times that we stopped by for a drink, Lauren took good care of us. The violet pear martini was fun. When you get to the point where you are actually paying for drinks, you will realize that this place is not cheap. Overall, not a bad bar, but not a great bar either. I would stay at the Le Marais again, so I would be back here, but I wouldn’t search it out otherwise.

If you’re in the FQ and feeling fancy and not traditional(which is a problem for me since mostly it’s fancy & traditional) then Vive is the place to get a cocktail. It is really pretty. And their fancy drink menu is really tasty & fun. I attended an event over the summer and had something with champagne(freshly opened split bottle) and violetta. It was pretty & super yummy to the point of dangerous. The bartenders held their own against the overpacked house my group brought in for the evening and were really good natured about the insanity. The patio & pool are very tempting even with the heat(or cold right now). At the Unilocal event here, I chatted up some fake Canadians and they said the rooms in the accompanying hotel was really nice. Plus it’s the sort of place where you can meet fake Canadians… but, of course, I needed Canadian Jennifer to tell me they were fake. Well, not really since even I could tell they had the wrong accents.

Perfect way to top off a night on the town! One of those hangouts with just the right beat can simply amount to «heaven». I read your reviews and tried the bubbly vive(more is more). It was delush!!! Yes delush! Its my new word for a great drink. The atmosphere is very W-ish without the herd of cattle. I would recommend dinner at GW, drinks at Vive, then live music at Irvin Mayfields. Research done — trip advisory complete. Enjoy.

When I first walked into Vive!(to meet up with Unilocalers for an afterparty for the July Elite event) I was impressed with the layout and lighting. Vive! has only recently opened, in April if memory serves, but already has a good ambiance and a great bartender. He made a mean Sauzerac. The outside section is a small courtyard with it’s own small bar(which wasn’t open when we were there) and seating near the hotel’s small, heated salt water pool. I don’t spend much time in the French Quarter, but next time I’m in the area Vive! is definitely on the list of places to visit.

What a gorgeous bar! As soon as I walked into Vive, I knew it was high class. The bar is beautifully lit with Vive’s signature purple. The bartenders were very friendly, as well. I love that there is a nice lounge area on the inside part of the bar. It would be a great place to enjoy happy hour. Outside is lovely. It’s a hotel, so there is a small pool, as well as a patio with plenty of seating. There is a beautiful garden surrounding the pool area that makes you feel as if you are on vacation in another city. WIth the open patio you can enjoy the sun, or admire the night, after the sun goes down. Vive is located just a few doors down from one of my favorite restaurants, Oceana, so I can definitely see myself getting a cocktail here before heading to dinner, one night. A definite gem in the Quarter.

I arrived early for a Unilocal event and sat at the bar with Alex. He was quite kind and recommended the Poire Violette(Violet Pear Martini). It was reminiscent of my childhood fave candy, Tart-n-tini. It is their signature drink, made of Absolut Pears, Triple Sec, Apple Pucker, Crème de Violette & fresh squeezed lemon. Yum! This bar has swagger! The velvety bar stools are stylish & comfy. The background music is upbeat & makes you feel like you’re on a mini-vacay. They have 3 flat screen tv’s in the bar area, which help to detract from the minimal crowd. But… This spot has only been open since Nov 2010, so the clientele is just building. Because this is such a wonderful location & cool bar, it will surely succeed! I’ll be back for sure. My only negative comment: PLEASE chill your martini glasses prior to serving!

I’m going to take a minute out of my oh-so-busy morning(yeah right) to inform fellow Unilocalers about a nice little boutique hotel in the Quarter. I haven’t stayed a night here but I will soon. I had a pleasant evening last night at the hotel bar Vive. It’s not really a hip bar(only due to the lack of customers) but it does offer hotel guests and locals a cool place to have a few drinks. Alex is a friendly and cool bartender there. The bar is clean and trendy. Had a great time hanging out with some tourists from NYC. Check it out if you’re in the area.

My previous review for Vive! is totally the reason we’re not allowed to write reviews and publish them from the Unilocal smartphone app(s). At least I use full sentences and don’t write in L33T speak, but still. Two sentence review? Bad Jess. Let’s try this again. Yes, Vive! is in fact a chill, W-esque bar in the Le Marais hotel in the French Quarter. It’s a part of the New Orleans Hotel Collection, and located on Conti Street, about a block away from where Patrick’s Bar Vin will be when it opens.(Which I am anxiously awaiting, by the way. Ever since I heard about it last year. Soon I hope!) There’s a courtyard attached with a small saltwater pool, and they’ve got this chic black wicker furniture outside. The bar itself has a bunch of huge, brightly colored armchairs, and the place is kind of colorful and slightly trippy in general. If you like the sort of hip, modern, funky aesthetic, you’ll like this place. When I was there, they had some interesting drinks on the menu. I had some kind of purple martini thing that was tasty, and would make an EXCELLENTLSU drink if they added a lemon, and were into that sort of thing. There was also a lavender champagne cocktail that I wanted to try. Hopefully it’ll still be on the menu next time. This place is super new, and in fact when I was there they had JUST gotten the courtyard furniture a day or two before. If you’re in the French Quarter and are looking for somewhere chill and non-touristy for a drink, this is an excellent option. The bartender Shaun was super nice. Sometimes hotel bars can be kind of cool, and this is definitely one of those times.
