The food was very good and the band was fun, but the service was just okay and I left spending a lot of money and still VERY hungry. I know tapas is not a huge meal but you should at least feel satisfied, no? My favorite was the braised pork belly. It was serviced topped with pears and cabbage on a little flatbread. I coulda eaten 10. The shrimp was also a big hit at our table. It was a very local feel and crowd also

Came by and put my name down and was told it was a 1 hour and 45 min wait. Table should be ready at 10:15. I came back at 10:15 and was told that dinner service ended at 10:00PM. Not acceptable! They should have never taken my name down. Instead of waiting for this restaurant I could have found another one. Host had the decency to tell me what other restaurants might still have food at this hour, but I don’t think that makes up for this. If you come late, double check that the kitchen will still be open.

A tour guide perfectly described the difference between Bourbon Street and Frenchman Street. Bourbon Street is for drunks, drag queens, and prostitutes. Frenchman Street is where the music is. I highly recommend Three Muses, which is a gastropub on the street. The food is incredible. The mac and cheese is amazing. The cheese it uses is great and the dish comes out sizzling hot. Once I started eating it, I could not stop till I finished it. I have the dish ranked as good as any mac and cheese I have tried. It is in a tie with Beechers(locations in New York and Seattle). The pork belly is excellent. The lamb sliders are very good too. Of course, Three Muses also has live jazz performances. The music is fantastic. I arrived at the gastropub ten minutes before it opened so I could get a seat at the bar immediately. It was a Sunday night and it still got busy for dinner in a hurry. I am sorry to leave a 2 star rating. We arrived with great expectations as we had eaten here on our last trip to NOLA — it was fabulous. This experience was NOT. We love the concept of small plates but when they are nearly the price of an entrée and a quarter of the size something is wrong. And if it had only been the size and the price then that would be one thing but only the pork belly was memorable and the rest were just ok. When there is so much competition it really seems that someone should be paying attention to all of this. Hope you can get your act together again.

Had a great experience while visiting NOLA. Awesome drinks and live music. I really appreciated how the host managed the entrance. They only let people in who had reservations so when we were seated people were not hovering over our table and food. It was intimate and fun. The food was outstanding. We had the bacon wrapped dates, bulgogi bowl and Mac and cheese. All were outstanding. It was really nice how the noise from the street didn’t carry into the restaurant. There was a brass band playing right outside and we didn’t hear a thing until we left. The band was great! Not your typical New Orleans jazz band and that was ok by us. They were very entertaining and I would def go back.

Think I liked Three Muses better when it was an undiscovered gem. Food was excellent as usual, but the music was nothing special. We shared four plates. The best was a kale bruschetta with ricotta and a balsamic reduction. Shrimp tempura, fries, and Mac and cheese completed a poorly balanced but tasty meal. But the energy I felt in previous visits was missing. Food was brought almost immediately after ordering. Tables were turned in minutes. I felt like a small cog in a very finely tuned food and music machine.

Three Muses was wonderful. But just under 5 stars. Food was fantastic, all was a reasonable price for the area the restaurant is in. We ordered the fries, which are your average fries — a good carb. The Mac and cheese was so gooey and delicious. The falafel was probably my favorite. And the fish tacos were pretty tasty as well. Nothing was bad! The atmosphere is chill and cool. Laid back with good feels. I’m a big fan of the size of the place, intimate and small. The jazz band was great, especially the bassist. And it was clean. That being said, make reservations like WEEKS in advance for parties of 2 or more. Id go back for sure, but Frenchman is my jam so more to come.

Little gastropub on Frenchman with live music. The food is OK, in some cases it’s good with associated«tourist trap» pricing, and in other cases the food is just overpriced. I can’t say the flavors were outstanding, and the best value on the menu was mac and cheese. Important note: they take reservations. HOWEVER, if you are planning on making an evening of it here, you will be asked to vacate your table after an hour and a half. I would suggest planning accordingly because unfortunately, after our plates came, our bill was delivered(without asking whether we wanted to drink/eat anything else), and the host asked us to vacate our table because he had people waiting. Any of this would be fine if we were told in advance(like when we made the reservation) that our reservation was for an hour and a half. But during the middle of the second set, we were uprooted, and asked to leave. Mind you, we were quietly enjoying the music until that point, and contemplating another drink. In summary, if you want a small plate and a drink and a little bit of live music, this would be a good place. If you want dinner, and live music, I would head elsewhere.

When we came here, the live music was a guy on the piano. It was good, but not amazing. I’m sure that on nights where they have a full band, the place is more intriguing. Their food menu is quite diverse, but I found it lacked flavour. I had ordered the fish tacos, which are usually tangy/citrusy but I found that the sauce was very bland and I had to use excessive lemon juice to get the flavour that I yearned for. I also had pork belly on the scallion pancakes… no complaints about those! They were amazing! I also tried my friend’s mac and cheese which again, seemed to lack flavour as well.

I keep going to his place every time I go to New Orleans. This is the best place you will ever find if you are looking for small and delicious food places, excellently made cocktails and classic New Orleans live music band. Make sure you go there early or book a table as it usually gets full quickly!

Came here with a group of 6 to celebrate my dad’s birthday. We had reservations for 7:00pm on a Friday but wasn’t nearly as crowded as the host(who was very pretentious) made it seem. The menu is tapas style so it’s perfect for large groups and sharing. Definitely more of a ‘gastropub’ vibe than a standard restaurant. We tried almost everything on the menu: + Olives — good + Tempura shrimp — delicious! a table favorite! + Three Muses fries — delicious! + Bacon wrapped bleu cheese stuff dates — good but very sweet(more like a dessert) + Lamb sliders — good! + Pork belly — delicious! a table favorite! + Bulgogi rice bowl — good! + Fish tacos — delicious! + Mac n cheese — disappointing; we heard rave reviews about this one but it was pretty bland! + Kale bruschetta — delicious! + Cheese plate — ok, nothing special! The meal was made even better by the good/attentive service and fun atmosphere. It was casual, fun and lively thanks to the music.

Have you ever eaten something so good that you just start laughing because what you put in your mouth was so delicious?! Well that happened to us here with multiple dishes! First things first make a reservation. They are on open table and it’s super easy. They do a great job of preserving the atmosphere so you can enjoy your meal. Everyone must wait outside so you don’t have to worry about the tight quarters getting too crowded. Head to the bar and grab a craft cocktail. We all got something different and everything we had was great! You will only get 1 ½ hours at your table to eat your meal and enjoy the great live music. This lets them cycle patrons through without feeling rushed because you know the rules ahead of time. Service is really fast and food comes out quickly. Even though it’s a timed meal I never felt rushed. I was totally relaxed and was able to enjoy my food. The plates are small. It’s tapas style so order several and share. We had multiple items on the menu and everything was fantastic. I highly recommend this place to everyone! GOGOGO!

Absolutely fantastic. The music, the food, the people — all 5 stars. We arrived here pretty late in the evening on New Year’s Eve. As expected the wait was forever for a table and I hadn’t reserved early enough to get one for the holiday so we tried our shot for the bar(no wait). Boy, did we get lucky, as we arrived two people left the bar table and we swooped on their seats. The music was jamming, some great classic jazz as well as some wonderful R&B. The bartender was extremely friendly and helpful in getting us drinks that fit our preferences and got to ordering some tapas. We went for the meat and cheese plate and the steak. Oh my god that steak. Everything came into place: drinks, food, ambiance, music, company. We closed the 2015 year with a great experience that I will never forget!

It’s a great place to enjoy the night. I had spaghetti something drink, pork belly and mac and cheese. drink was very good and it had lots of taste and flavor in it. pork belly very juicy and tender. delicious. I loved it. mac and cheese is not my favorite, but his one was one of the bests that I’ve ever had. Joyful live jazz music made everything even more enjoyable. Although I was sitting at the door and it was cold outside, and their restaurant is small and packed, and …, but It’s great and joyful experience. and they deserve 5 starts.

Lovely restaurant to enjoy music and get some small bites, in less than an hour and a half… Located on Frenchman street in a small house. This eclecticly designed restaurant probably has less than 20 tables and could probably fit less than 50 people hence why they are pretty strict on their hour and a half time limit for your table. Which they will remind you of when it’s close to being up. Make sure to make a reservation and arrive early. Also make sure to bring cash to tip the band since they will pass around a hat. The blues band that played during our dinner was amazing, so happy we had the chance to catch a great show. Drinks were a little bit of a miss for me, tried the Muse and found the cucumber way too over whelming. Same with the spaghetti western, the rosemary was over powering. However the food was amazing. Some things to try: –stuffed dates(ours had sweet potato on the inside and wrapped in bacon) –scallops –Mac and cheese — so heavenly I came with a friend and between the two of us we ordered 5 items. Which was more than enough for us. Also make sure to stop at the Frenchman Street Market either before or after your dinner. Fun little handmade market to buy some great and unique art.

I loved loved loved Three Muses! The décor is super cute, the food is great, the bourbon is tasty, all the servers are sweet, full of tattoos and great stories AND they have live music every night. Seriously, this is my kind of place! The food is served tapas style and unless you want a seat at the bar(if they even have one open-it’s small so that’s a gamble), I would advise you make a reservation and get there on time. They allow you an hour and a half for dinner, and that ended up being plenty of time for our table of 4. The food was amazing and our server couldn’t have been anymore lovely. I’m basically out of descriptive words at this point, and since my fellow Unilocalers all sing 3Ms high praises so enthusiastically, you’ll just have to go ahead and believe the hype like I did. It really is an awesome little place!

Our first meal in New Orleans and it did not disappoint! We did have a 30 minute wait since we didn’t have reservations but we killed that time by having a drink at 13. Once inside, the Jazz was in full action and we were seated at the window– prime people watching during Mardi Gras! And we saw some interesting stuff. But you’re here for the food… I had the Earl Grey Gardens drink which had a light earl tea flavor to it. It was light. For food, this is a tapas place, so we did shared plates. We got the French fries, lamb sliders, fish tacos and scallops. I like the fries and sliders the best. The sliders came with pickles which was a nice touch. The scallops were my least favorite tapas we ordered. I heard this was on a best foods list so I’m glad we stumbled on it!

Good Live Music + Good Food = So Much Satisfaction. Are you really looking for more? I just said they have good food, really good! And they have good music, that’s the idea of Frenchman St. right? It ain’t gonna get better. Plates are small so don’t expect getting stuffed. But tastes all over you? That’s the right place. Superb staff too…

Simple execution of the highest quality ingredients seamlessly blended with outstanding craftsmanship behind the bar and live jazz. We were seated right on time and greeted with a smile by our server who provided a quick overview of the menu and a gentle reminder that we should pace our food selections. We settled in to our seats to enjoy the music and awesome vibe the space offers. Food highlights were the scallops, the pork belly and the fresh gulf fish crudo with honorable mention for the meat and cheese charcuterie(the roasted red onion was awesome). The winner libation of the night was The Flying Squirrel(served up), the layering of favors was delicious! Three Muses was everything we hoped for and more, bravo! Making reservations is highly recommended. Cheers!

This is an intimate(small space, compact seating) venue — small but mighty. I understand why they require dinner reservations and a limited seating time frame; there’s likely always a wait for folks to get in. But once we were there, we didn’t feel rushed at all by our server. In fact, the pacing of our drinks/food arriving was relaxed. Given that a food order is required for seating, I was worried about the food quality, but we really enjoyed all the items we tried. In fact, my two companions said it was their favorite meal while in New Orleans. The atmosphere is lively and the musicians(Royal Street Windin’ Boys) were outstanding; in general our 1.5 hours here was an awesome start to a great evening enjoying the music on Frenchmen Street. The Food: — The mac & cheese: do yourself a favor and just get it. Creamy goodness, with a perfect bread crumb topping. — Tofu Rice Bowl: a surprising delight. You MUST order extra kimchee when getting this dish. — Fries: crispy and flavorful with feta cheese. — Fish Tacos: good, but not their specialty. — Pork Belly: I personally don’t eat pork belly, but my companion said it was tasty. Drinks: — The Muse is a lovely cocktail(I’m a gin and St. Germain lover). — The Spagetti Western was fabulous… and boozy.
