The courtyard and steel drum music were quite pleasant. They wanted to please, we wanted to be pleased, but no amount of friendliness could make up for the poor service and food. Hate to give this review because our waitress was super nice, but I truly don’t know how she chose this as her profession. She couldn’t get our order right to save her life, she misstated things, forgot things and, well, maybe she wasn’t feeling well today. It was that weird. I ordered the BBQ shrimp. Six low quality shrimp drenched in an oily herbed and way over salted sauce arrived surrounded by stale sliced bread. Husband ordered fried shrimp which came on top of soft tasteless fries and, again, white stale bread. Too bad. The good news is we are having dinner at Restaurant August, one of America’s highest rated.

The crawfish boil was amazing. So hot and so good. The flavor was perfect. The price was right. Service is slow. Seat yourself and wait for someone to clean off the table.

If I could give zero stars I would. Purchased a groupon for a dinner there and experienced some of the worst customer service of my life. There are literally tons of other restaurants on Bourbon– dont go here it’s not worth it. If management reads this I recommend retraining or firing the short bald dude on the security staff. #rude

DONOTGOHERE. Found this place on groupon when we were on vacation there. We were all pretty excited because it was right on Boubon street and it had a good menu. Had a group of us and they treated us like crap. I have never been so FURIOUS with a restaurant ever until this place. I am not one to complain but this one was over the top. Everyone was very rude and have zero customer service skills. The manager did not want us to use our groupon because we could not use 2 at the same table. So we were gonna split up our group into 2 tables and with us trying to calmly reason with them the bouncer thought we were talking back to so he started screaming at us. They wanted us to literally sit across the entire restaurant from each other. It was ridiculous so we decided to leave. Thankful to groupon we got our money back. You have been warned.

Guy at the front was great, got us seated right away. Waitress was nice and got our order in quickly, and the food was awesome. Jambalaya and alligator sausage po-boy were top notch. BUT… we finished our food before our drinks came and we had to remind the waitress about them. Then we waited about 15 minutes after finishing before we got the check. All in all, great food and drinks, not so great service.

We were lured in by the courtyard, 2 for 1 drinks and the sweet sweet sounds of the steel drum. That’s when we should have should have realized it was a tourist trap. Things were a little hectic and our food took a very long time to come out but the MC/Steel drumsman kept us quite entertained playing and singing all the hits of yesterday and today! Seriously he went from«under the sea» to «am I wrong» When the food finally came out it was a little underwhelming. Not bad by any means but also nothing special. We ordered jumbalaya and crawfish empanadas. We then proceeded to order 4 more beers for the 2 of us so we didn’t really care how good the food was at that point haha. Fun place, happy people, not upset we stopped in but wouldn’t go back with so much more to explore in New Orleans

Good meal and a must try for sure. Great ambiance and my waiter was awesome! Great price along with good music in the backgrounds makes for a great dining experience.

Loved the courtyard and the atmosphere. Gorgeous night and the perfect little spot to eat dinner and hear some live music. I ordered the gumbo-laya — perfect amount if you aren’t too hungry with just the right amount of kick. We have a two year old and it was a great spot even with him. Patio heaters keep it warm! Would definitely recommend!

Service seemed a little disorganized but the part we didn’t like is we were fourth in line waiting for a table when a party of three walked in and handed one of the waiters cash to get seated immediately. Very annoying since we had all been waiting. He tried to hide it under a menu when it was handed to him but we all noticed.

Francis was great! Someone in our party has a sensitive tongue and Francis was great about finding something on the menu that was ok to drink.

The food was soso. The service left a lot to be desired. We sat for 15 minutes before we got menus. I was looking forward to the sweet potatoe fries. But they tasted like cardboard so I sent them back. The rest was ok but nothing special. Will not be returning.

We had a pit stop on our road trip(Montréal to Mexico and traveling with two standard poodles) and while meandering as one does on Bourbon street we were greeted and told they had a dog friendly courtyard so we stopped in. Our arrival with said hounds always attracts attention and made quick friends with the wait staff. We asked about getting their signature dish and were told to get the yaya’s gumbo/jumbalaya. This dish blew us away, the flavor was unique, rich and tasty and we gobbled it up with lots of gusto. We liked it so much we came back and had another that same evening, and confirmed that it was the winning dish we recommend(and will be craving and trying to reproduce), the staff was really nice and attentive(we even chatted up the cooks) and the cost for the meal in question was very reasonable, as were the beers and cocktails so I happily recommend you try them out.

I am reviewing their front bar with live music only. I have never eaten there or sat anywhere else. I’ve been here just a few times, and ALWAYS stop when I hear southern fried blues from down the street. Lee & Gator are incredibly talented and I love listening to their music. The bar serves up fine drinks. Staff is friendly. Bathroom is always clean. If you appreciate blues; jimi hendrix & stevie ray vaughan, you’ll enjoy them.

I visited this place tonight, you are able to bring your drinks in from outside. The place is nice but small. What attracted me was the music only. It had an older crowd(but not to old) which was nice. I rated this place four because of the sze of the club and the fact that I did not get drinks. Next time I visit maybe my rating will change once I order something from the menu.

Cute courtyard and great ambiance, we were super excited about it when we first got there. The server was standing out on the street and encouraged us to check it out, or we probably would have walked by without even seeing the courtyard. But past that, I couldn’t tell you how anything tasted, because despite there only being 2 other tables in the whole place, we still didn’t have our drinks after 30 minutes… the server didn’t seem very knowledgable about the menu and they were out of the two things we wanted to try more than anything, so we left.

I was walking down Bourbon Street on a Monday afternoon at around lunch time, I smelled something akin to BBQ coming from this place, the«barker» out front told me they were offering 2 for 1 beers and drink specials, so I went in and had a seat at the bar. His pitch was a little misleading, the 2 for 1 was only for domestic bottles. 12 Oz drafts didn’t come with that offer, though I wasn’t told that until AFTER I ordered one. I asked for a menu and ordered the barbeque chicken breast with sweet potato fries. Food was decent, but not great. The chicken breast was a bit on the small side, but the fries were good and it also came with 3 slices of what looked like French bread. The service here was a bit spotty; After I sat down there was no one behind the bar at all for a few minutes, then after the bartender gave me my beer and I was ready to place my food order, again she’d disappeared. When she was actually present and manning her bar she was nice and friendly, though and checked in on me a few times as I ate. They had a musician just inside the front door who sang and played both guitar and accordion with pre-recorded instrumental tracks — He played several bayou area staples which was cool and the crowd seemed to appreciate him. My total came to just under $ 20 before gratuity; it was $ 7 for the draft beer and $ 12 for the food. Not bad, not great, but certainly not the deal that their barker/pitch man out front was promoting.

Stopped in just to hear some live music. Some guy was playing reggae on some steel drum so we stopped in to finish our drink from another bar and listen to him. Tipped him and then left. I probably wouldn’t swing in this bar normally. Pretty small and doesn’t seem to be that popular. I don’t think you could ever get me to try the food. Something about this place just doesn’t say we have good bar food.

My wife and I stumbled upon this place while walking through the French Quarter. We sat in the courtyard which was outside and offered a constant light mist from sprinklers overhead. With the stifling NOLA heat, we were very happy to stumble upon this place. Discover is an accepted form of payment. We ordered a couple Abita draft brews for $ 6.75 each. We shared the Alligator Sausage for $ 6.75: tender alligator on a stick served with Creole mustard for dipping. Thank you Bourbon Heat for whetting our whistles and providing tasty morsels for us to sample.

It was wonderful. We loved the meal, which included the Gumbo/Jambalaya it has a bit of heat to it. Wonderful blend of the two. My hubby had the pork ribs and sweet potato fries, which didn’t disappoint. Ribs feel off the bone and sweet potatoes were fried to perfection.

Meh. They had a two for one on the beers, but my sister had bought a groupon that was only good for dine in. Meh. The bartender was cute but not overly friendly, even after my sister chatted her up about her pregnancy. I will say the Abita beers are good, but that’s nothing to do with the bar.

i loved this little place that was right near my hotel. it was the outdoor seating area that drew me in. the lights and the tucked away feel of it. it was perfect. my friends and i settled in with some drinks and i ordered the empanadas. i had the crawfish ones and they were AMAZING. i had a really good drink but i cant remember the name of it and also ordered a trio of cajun faves. the red beans and rice were easily my top pick. spicy and creamy and wonderful. i know there was other good food at the table but i was a little immersed in mine! The servers were really nice and even jumped into conversation with us about how the mens bathroom has tvs in it and the womens bathroom does not. we left full and happy!

We stopped here first after arriving in NO for a quick bite and drink. Positives: * Beers came two at a time. * The server was great. * Outdoor patio is nice. Negatives: * Prices are kind of high, but it is in the heart of the touristy area * The food was horrendous. Chips and salsa = store brand chips and one of those giant Pace Picante jugs of salsa. Yet it cost $ 5.25. I ordered a gumbo — and with the outdoor kitchen in sight, I witnessed the cook scoop out the gumbo, put it in the microwave, then test the temp with his finger. Wife ordered a rice/shrimp dish, and it was the same routine.(There’s also a «Tip The Cook» jar — lolz) The gumbo was lukewarm at best and tasteless. Oh, and it was about $ 12 per. * While our service was fine, we watched 2 other tables sit and leave after being ignored. Conclusion: Pretty sure it’s a tourist trap. They have guys outside trying to lure you in as well, which is a bad sign for anywhere on Bourbon. Spent way too much $$ here for what you get. When it comes to getting a meal, you can do much better. The dance/bar area looked a little more fun, but we never ventured as we were too eager to get out of there and find better places.

Great place to go before everything takes off at night. Nahay was awesome to chat with. Ask her about her favorite toasts. Good drinks, and good food too. Back patio was killer! Also, there was a guy playing steel drums — wicked!

Pros: 3 for 1 beers! Cons: most beers aren’t 3 for 1 TL;DR: the only reason we stopped in was because someone promised us 3 for 1 beers. however, the beers we got wasn’t 3 for 1. but i guess that’s my bad for not confirming that beforehand. Oh well. The patio area was nice.

First place I’ve tried in new Orleans, guy outside telling me I was getting 2 for 1 drinks. Went inside, bought from the food menu and checked in for 15%off and the boss said it’s a 35 for 50 deal. Honestly have no idea what is happening… But I did get a beer for free Just paid about 20 dollars for a beer and a small jambalaya. The food is ready made and just heated so I suggest something else. Nice divey atmosphere with live music and smoker friendly inside and out. Honestly wouldn’t recommend it. Friendly people otherwise
