Had never heard of this place, but moved nearby and read some positive Unilocal reviews, so decided to check it out. I tried to do a walk-​in session 2 times and was told each time they’re booked up for the next few days. So, even though they «accept walk-​ins», I highly suggest calling ahead and making an appointment. Once I finally wised up and made an appointment, I was seen promptly in a very full waiting area.
My stylist actually LISTENED to what I wanted (which has rarely happened at other places I’ve been, sadly) and was super helpful in giving advice on how to style it, what I should do with my hair moving forward, etc. She gave me a great haircut and didn’t try to push a bunch of products on me. I’m almost never pleased with a haircut right when I get it. This was the first one I’ve had in seemingly eons that I was happy with right out the door. She did great work. And her style tips have helped me not look like a ragamuffin since then. PLUS, it didn’t break the bank! Definitely recommended!
Make an appointment ahead of time and get yourself a dang fine haircut for a good price.

The service here is great and they do a wonderful job! They also serve you refreshments such as beer and cokes while you’re waiting and they are pet friendly.

Trish is the goddess of hair color. Really!
I started going to her when I moved to the area about 4 years ago. I’ve had some bad hair color experiences in the past so I preferred doing my own for many years. One day I decided to let her color my hair and it is really amazing. Every time. Worth every penny. No more coloring at home for me!

If you prefer a friendly neighborhood salon to the high fashion places, this is a great option. In a lovely old transformed railway station, the salon has beautiful natural light and high ceilings. Susan does a great job on haircuts and my friends recommend her for color as well. Prices are very reasonable.

Me, my wife, and her entire bridal party got our hair done by Holly. She did an awesome job, at an extremely reasonably price. My wife and her friends looked beautiful, and I loved my hair so much I was able to focus on my wedding day instead of how I looked. I had never let another person shave my face until Holly, and it was the best shave ever. I changed my entire shaving routine after that. Every time I am in New Orleans I gain 10 lbs from fried food and get a great haircut from Holly.

My hair needed some maintenance for an upcoming wedding, so I set out to find a decent salon close by. I’m all about staying hyper local whenever possible; as in blocks away, not miles away.
I stumbled across Style Squared one day after leaving Buds Broiler. I was walking home and noticed this interesting building across the street from the cemetery with a big wraparound porch that looked like the perfect restaurant spot, aside from the tombstones across the street. Upon closer inspection I realized it was a commercial space and corner tenant was Style Squared Salon.
I called them up and was able to set up an appointment the next day. The ladies there were super nice and made me feel right at home. As soon as I walked in, they gave me a complimentary Abita Amber, definitely a plus. Holly introduced herself, led me to the sink and proceeded to shampoo my hair. I love having my hair washed. There is just something about a woman running her fingers through your hair and massaging your scalp. It’s an experience a lot of guys miss out on when they settle for Supercuts.
Holly did a good job on my hair. She was quick but thorough and cleaned up my neck with hot lather and a straight razor. She also offered up some styling suggestions without trying to sell products. All that set me back a reasonable $ 25+tip. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m looking a little too shaggy.
FYI, they also offer a full hot towel facial shave for the guys. However, they don’t use a straight razor for that, just a regular old Mach 3 which is disappointing.
