This restaurant was across the street from our hotel(Aloft Hotel), so we decided to give it a try. We came in right when it opened, so it didn’t seem like the servers were ready. We ordered a few plates, but none of them were good. I’m from California, so my tastebud for Thai food might be different than New Orleans people. The service was also horrible because we asked for chilli & the girl took forever, yet gave us the wrong one. I wouldn’t recommend eating here!

2 stars because the service was nice. however, they forgot our side of rice. I’m from Laos and grew up eating Thai ALOT. I know what good Thai food is and this is not it. everything we ordered Papaya salad, beef satay, and lard na were terrible and could not be finished. the lard na and papaya salad were both so sweet it should be on the desert menu. the beef satay was way too salty and the was very tough. I’ve never been so mad about a dining experience. can’t believe I just paid to be tortures like that. my wife and I will have to stop somewhere else to eat tonight.

I absolutely loved this place! Thai food was the last thing I thought I’d be getting while on vacation in New Orleans. A friend I was with said randomly«let’s get some Thai!» I was like«what?» I was fine with it. It was getting kind of late, I started looking up places close to where we were, found this place from the magic of Unilocal! I ordered the beef pad Thai. The portion I got was huge. It was plenty of beef in it. You know some places will skimp you on the meat, but this place definitely gave you your money’s worth. The whole dish itself was very good. Prices aren’t bad at all, especially if you consider how much you get. The staff was really nice. Food was ready and nice and hot when we got there. The bar area looked pretty cool. I didn’t think I would say this, but when I come back to New Orleans, I will be back for Thai food… From here of course!

We stopped here to grab a bite in between apartment shopping downtown New Orleans. The restaurant seemed clean. The food came out fast. Prices weren’t too bad.($ 14 for an entrée and appetizer). The portions aren’t the biggest, but the entrée was shareable. It wasn’t the most extensive Thai menu, but it had most of the more popular dishes. I would eat here again.

I had lunch at Singha today. I am aware that the portions at Singha are on the small side, but today was absurd! I was very disappointed, not to mention still hungry when I left. I thought I’d try something new so I ordered the beef steak rice dish and got 3 very small pieces of meat, that I would not call steak, 3 miniature corn on the cobs, 3 tiny broccoli florets, and 3 pcs of julienned carrots, covered with a teaspoon of gravy/sauce & one tiny spring roll. It looked like a kids meal. Did I tell the staff? No. Why bother. Lots of restaurants to go to downtown. They will get my business, not Singha! The haha is on you Singha!

The portions here are huge, and the staff are so nice, but everything we had was blanketed in salt. Like, for serious, quilted layers of salt. I literally couldn’t finish my curry because it was hurting my insides. The only thing that wasn’t a salt mine was the papaya salad, and that was because of the Thai chiles. Ugh, such a shame, considering all the fresh seafood they used.

Quite simply, flavorless. The worst thai food I have ever had. I think people are infatuated with the place because of its flaming history, not because of its quality. I live so close, that I gave it three tries! First the Pad Thai, then the drunken noodle and lastly the chicken cashew nut. All just as wet and flavorless as the last. Even the spring rolls are subpar. I guess I’ll just have to drive if I want Thai.

Tonight my husband took me to Singha Thai on Baronne for dinner. I ordered the Mango Shrimp Salad. There was NO mango on the salad! When I said there is no mango on this salad, they apologized and then brought out a dish of some fruit that you could not eat because it was hard as a rock. The waitress saw I did not eat my salad but charged us full price anyway. We will NEVER go back.

I’ve loved this place since it was across from One Shell Square. About 3a one morning, the 3 stories above it collapsed into it and first, thank goodness it was 3a and second, it took them a long time to relocate. I love the pad Thai and the pad something that has the crunchy noodles. Spring rolls are super good too(I’m a spring roll fiend. Show me one and I’ll follow you anywhere). Staff is always attentive and I always thought the lunch crowd was pleasantly lively. Fun fact: there’s an adult private club a few doors down! By the time you finish eating(late), you can go get your groove on(byob)!

I ordered green curry from here it was bland and very runny. I’ll order from suko thai next time never Had bad curry from there. I will say it came out in a timely manor and the staff is very friendly

My friends and I came here for lunch after a long hot walk from the cemetery. It was nice to try Thai food not from your home town and switch it up from the Cajun. The service was great. She was sweet and very attentive. We started with the fried tofu, spring rolls, and dumplings. All were delicious. Main courses we tore it up. Yellow curry, pad see ew, lad nah, combination fried rice(I always judge a thai place based on the fried rice and it was tasty) and a shrimp dish. We all were happy campers and left thinking we would definitely come back when in town again.

Very sorry to hear this, same thing happened to me. I gave them a call and they were very concerned and eager to make it right. They re-made my food and it was the delicious Thai food I expect from Singha.

The pad Thai is disgusting. I don’t think you can even call it pad Thai. It’s horrible. Do not eat here. The spring rolls were pretty awful too

The food here is very good, but it’s not what I am accustomed to in regard to «Thai» food. I expect the food to be spicier, and have more peppers in it. Maybe this is just their version, but it seems fairly modified for«American» tastes. The first thing you might notice,(after the beautiful décor, that is), is that there are no salt and pepper shakers, no soy sauce bottles, and no other condiments on the table. That’s to keep you from«messing» with their already perfectly seasoned recipes, and the recipes are perfectly seasoned. My problems with this restaurant have nothing to do with the food. The food is fantastic, flavorful, and a delightful variation from the usual New Orleans cuisine. My problem with this restaurant has more to do with things the restaurant has little control over — the noise. When we were there, it was so LOUD we could not even hear our waitress standing two feet from us. Since the walls and ceilings are solid brick, all it takes is one or two loud people like during a lunch rush, and it gets louder than a football game in there. When we were there, the noise remained very loud, but waxed and waned a bit. At one table of six, there was one loud businessman whose loud voice made others around him talk louder, and then other people in the restaurant were forced to raise their voices to be heard over him. When another table came in with a woman just as loud, and just as unconcerned about the level of her voice, the place became impossible. In that regard, it did add some authenticity to the place because it came to sound like some foreign outdoor market in the Far East. Anyway, the noise is not something the restaurant has much control over, unless they want to insulate the walls, and hang acoustic tiles. It is probably something every diner will have to deal with when visiting during busy times. Either that, or take it out, but, when you do that, you lose the experience of the restaurant’s ambience. The food is very tasty, and well-prepared, but not spicy enough for me with no options to make it spicier. I would definitely eat here again, or at least recommend it to others without my capacity for spicy heat. I would not, however, go out of my way to come here again, and the thought of all that noise would be enough to make me consider another dining option.

Best Thai in the city hands down. I didn’t realize they had reopened after sadly losing their place on Carondelet a few years ago. So delighted they are back. They use fresh ingredience. The dishes are perfectly seasoned. The portions seem bigger. I’d rather have a smaller portion becuse the food is so good I want to eat the whole dish in one sitting. The ginger fish and Carondelet shrimp are a must try. So is the fried calamri. Lightly battered crunchy little morsels perfectly accompanied by a sweet and sour dipping sauce. Can’t wait to go back.

I’m here on business and it’s Fat Tuesday at 7PM. Walk down to Bourbon Street and nothing is available for seating. So we walk back to the Hyatt to find this gem. We go inside and the staff was cleaning. We were seated and they barely spoke English. Being vegetarian, they made me a Papaya salad without shrimp or fish sauce. It was so good but fiery hot — but I kept eating it. I had Singha beer and the Tofu Pad Kee Mao: deliciousssss. Cooked perfectly. My coworker had beefskirt and a MaiTai. He didn’t like the Mai Tai so sweet. so they took it off the bill. Straightforward non fancy place for classic Thai food. Service was slow. But it is the South and we were ravenous. I’d come back.

In the heart of the city I stumbled upon this joint. Walking in at first glance you will be anticipating an authentic meal. Looking over the menu, your mouth will water. But this is where the love affair ends. half the appetizers and entrées arrive simultaneously, and at first bite you’ll realize you’ve just agreed to pay good money for a plate that is less then mediocre. If you have already ended up here order the spring rolls, they are flavorful and are a fair price. As for me, I think I’ll take my next meal at good karma.

So yummy, I almost drank my remaining sauces. Only took off one star bc the Tom Nua beef was blah but otherwise, really good food and quick service. Dumplings are divine.

HORRIBLE, NAUSEATING, RIPOFF! The single worst restaurant I’ve ever encountered in New Orleans, the absolute worst Thai food I’ve had anywhere. I would have given this a ‘minus 5 stars’ rating, if that had been an option. It’s one thing to be disappointed with a restaurant, however at Singha I felt as though someone had robbed me of my money with the old ‘bait and switch’ con, offering one thing and delivering something entirely else. I would have sent it back and asked for a refund, but it was a ‘to go’ order that I called in and drove halfway across town to pick up, after reading the positive reviews on this page(which, I now believe could only have been written by the restaurant’s owners or investors). If any of you(a) hustling, charlatans and swindlers or(b) utter food morons who wrote these lies are reading this, I hope you spend your afterlife in a place where you are forced to eat this food. I’ve had more authentic Thai dishes at those Chinese lunch buffets that offer all the food poison you can eat for $ 5.95. But these tiny portions of inedible swill came at full dinner menu prices — my yellow curry with shrimp was $ 15.95 and wouldn’t have satisfied a hungry seagull. The(6) small shrimp were quite obviously frozen(freezer burned) and not of the local Gulf variety, which are abundant in this city everywhere else. The few julienned carrots and potatoes had the mushy consistency of leftovers that originally came from a giant Costco bag in a deep freezer, had been cooked, frozen again, thawed and reheated in a microwave. The bland curry sauce suffered from the same malady, the coconut milk taking on the appearance of scalded milk, solids separating from the oils, staining the disgusting grayish rice which appeared to have been cooked a week or so earlier. It wasn’t just a problem with this one dish, either. The Tom Kha had mushrooms that looked like they came from a can and several sprigs of cilantro that had turned black and slimy in the refrigerator long before they added them to the soup. The piece of lemongrass even looked brown as though, it too had spoiled prior to being cooked. The broth was way, way too sweet(corn syrup?) and I swear, I thought I detected a slight scent of cat urine. I spit out the one spoonful I put in my mouth. The dumplings were the only thing that I could actually eat — which I did very cautiously and only because I was starving — but they were also of the Costco, giant bag, frozen variety(precisely portioned filling, identical, uniform, made-by-machine, not-by-hand appearance). Sure, they were small, tasteless, rubbery — but barely tolerable, when drowned in the two tiny cups of dipping sauce(which I had to ask for) and sriracha that I had at home. The best thing I can say about either the dumplings or the dipping sauce is that they were not spoiled and didn’t make me ill. My sriracha added some much-needed heat and flavor. Thank god, I usually keep some of this stuff on hand. How Singha has stayed open in a city that offers some of the best cuisine in the world is a mystery, but the sooner this place shuts it’s doors for good, the better off the diners of New Orleans will be. Avoid at any cost. Go hungry, rather than make the mistake I did.

— The service was very good. Polite, courteous, friendly The food was average at best: — The Tom Kha soup with chicken was frothy. Almost like they heated it up with one of those steam machines at starbucks. The broth was too sweet and there wasn’t enough substance — My Pad Kee Mao was similar. Lots of noodles. Not much else, including the sauce. It didn’t look like any Pad Keo Mao I’ve ever had. I asked for it spicy and it appears the only type of sauce they put on it was the hot oil. — The sweet sticky rice was pretty good. No mango, but the custard was decent I hate to ding places, but there must be something about this space(Isis used to be here) and sub-par food.

When the façade of a building crashed into Singha it crushed much more than just the restaurant. It also crushed my dreams of Thai spicy cashew chicken. I realize that may sound a little dramatic, but I loved that dish. For the past year I have tried many different versions of that dish, but none came close to Singha. The new version of Singha is completely different. The staff appear to be all new and the building does not have the funky charm of the old location. I visited one day right when they opened and was seated with no issue. As my meal continued I saw the restaurant go from half full to completely full with a wait for a table. This all happened in a matter of a few minutes so make sure and come during off peak times. Service was friendly and prompt just like the old location. The only thing I missed was the old staff who would remember that I really did like my food as hot as they could possibly make it. It always takes a few trips before servers at a Thai place accept that you can handle that level of spice, but I am pretty convincing. The food was good. Not as good as the original, but my cashew chicken had hints of greatness. I wish it had been a little spicier, but that will come in time. It also seemed as if the sauce was not as rich as the old version, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The entire meal took under 30 minutes which was impressive considering how busy they got after I was seated. Street parking was a pain, but that won’t keep me away. If you miss Singha, just want some Thai food and you’ve only got a brief time, head to Singha.
