The food is very consistent and it is reasonably priced. The bun is great especially pork with egg roll. Service is good and a very clean tidy place. They do have outdoor dining as well which makes it nice right on Magazine Street.

I had to try the egg roll in spring roll appetizer. I’ve never had anything like it before and was really curious. It’s exactly as you would imagine and comes with a good peanut sauce. The egg roll is still warm and crunchy and is surrounded by the cool fresh roll with greens and noodles. Fun and delicious. 4 stars for showing me something new and tasty. I had a small Phở Ga. Good. Average. They managed to make sure the white chicken meat was still tender. I hate when it comes floating in my soup and is dry and tough. The usual accompaniments were there. Basil, sprouts, lime, jalepenos. It’s 3 star phở. The prices are very good and the staff is friendly. I like the space quite a bit. I would come back and try some bun. I like Lily’s better so far but haven’t had enough of either menu to be definitive. Worth a try!

Very affordable and delicious! The eye of round and the shrimp phở are great, so are the banh mi and the spring rolls. The service is friendly!

Definitely one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the area! The phở broth is amazing and so are the summer rolls and banh mi sandwiches. Prices are phenomenal too! They really could charge more considering the location(just because they can) but I’m so glad they keep it affordable and delicious! My belly is always happy and so is my wallet.

What a great place! Nice ambiance, great spring rolls, and great rice and phở dishes alike. The beef and broccoli rice dish was very well done– be sure to pour the sauce on the side over the whole dish. It makes the dish! This will become part of our regular rotation of restaurants.

Yet another good phở place in New Orleans. This place is definitely one of my top picks for best phở in New Orleans. Service is always fast and nice. I like that they have outdoor seating. Good prices and good food !

Phonomenal!!! This is probably the best Phở in the east bank! Best $ 8 you’ll ever spend. The Phở comes with plenty of meat and noodles, along with one of the best broths I’ve had in quite a while. Third time in two weeks, so glad I discovered it!

Yay, a restaurant that is open on Monday! I was craving phở and I didn’t want to drive all the way to the West Bank. I wanted something on my route to home from work, and I found Phở Cam Ly on Unilocal. I ordered the small Phở Tai and a Grilled Pork Bahn Mi. The small phở was a pretty good sized bowl. I was almost too full to eat any of my Bahn Mi, but I am greedy and ate half of it any way. I got the other half to go. I really enjoyed the phở. I didn’t even put any sriracha in the broth until I was 2⁄3 of the way done(I love sriracha in my phở but I was savoring the broth in its original flavors before I added anything to it later). The grilled pork in the bahn mi was less exciting than some other Vietnamese restaurants, but it was a decent sandwich by all means. I will surely be returning.

Firstly, we live in Little Saigon in San Francisco, so for some white folks, our standards are pretty high. In the past 2 years NOLA has gone from NO Vietnamese places to such a glut I am worried that some of them won’t stick around. Been to Magasin(upscale and weird to pay so much for food we pay like $ 4 at home), Lily’s(love), and then we gave this place a try for the first time yesterday and I gotta say FAVORITE! They do the grilled beef vermicelli rolls which we always had to go to the West Bank for(AND add avocado to anything for $ 1), the broth in even their basic wonton soup was really rich(I am not a Phở FREAK because its something we eat almost every day back home, its like maybe a Big Mac in terms of passion). The whole adding a fried egg to dishes is a NOLA thing, no one does that back in Cali. But i LOVE it. We had a rice dish, the crab rangoon(which EVERYBODY schmucks up for some reason but theirs was delicate and really good). So, yeah, pretty freakin wowed. Not like Tu Lan or Slanted Door in SF, but what is? For NOLA, this is definitely the favorite hands down.

Great place for phở! Served piping hot with all the fixins. The meat was cooked perfectly(I got brisket and tendon) and the service was prompt. It’s nothing fancy inside, but I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would definitely return for another bowl.

Dined in a while back and forgot to write a review. I came here with my friend visiting from Nashville and i don’t remember what she had, but I know she liked it. We came here when they were just opening so there were certainly kinks to work out, but aside from minor hiccups, the service was great and the food was equally satisfying. I remember ordering a Thai tea which they topped with whipped cream. It made for a nice garnish of sweetness to an already sweet drink, although I feel I get a little more Thai tea in a typical serving at most other places. I remember mine going rather quickly. The seasoned rice with beef was my choice. I also added an egg because, why not? They offered it, and I obliged. I’ve seen quite a bit of mixed reviews, some people calling the place downright terrible, which I would disagree with. The food here is good enough, like, if I was in the mood for Vietnamese and in the neighborhood, ok. If I’m planning on Vietnamese, this probably wouldn’t be my first go-to. Although this review is from a visit close to a year ago, I will go back for another try and hopefully they can get an extra star or two out of the deal.

So this is the start of 2015 and I’m trying to be better about writing reviews! See John L. h., I’m trying buddy! Hehe It was a cold night and I was in the mood for phở so a friend and I tried this joint out. First of all it’s a renovated house and it’s adorable! There are some steep steps with only a handrail on one side. The porch has some outdoor seating as well. The inside is beautiful with pretty light fixtures, two flat screen tv’s, neutral colored walls and modern looking furniture. We started off with some pork sprig rolls with peanut sauce. The pork was tasty albeit a little dry. My friend ordered the shrimp rice dish that comes with a soup(same yummy broth as the phở), veggies and rice. The shrimp were plump and flavorful. She really enjoyed her soup! Meanwhile I ordered the combination phở with meatballs, rare flank etc. I must say this broth was absolutely delicious! But as others have mentioned the portion sizes are a bit smaller than other Vietnamese restaurants I’ve been to. The service was good and the staff were nice. I would come back to try other dishes. Happy eating!

I stopped in for lunch here while shopping with my Mom on Magazine Street. And the staff was lovely and attentive. The space is really open and attractive. The food was good and the prices were inexpensive compared to other Vietnamese places. And the food is more traditional than some of the other spots uptown/garden district. I had veggie avocado spring rolls and they were perfect. My Mom had a small phở(which was huge for her) and she really enjoyed it. I also had the bun with tofu and it was OK. There were definitely regulars who must be in all the time since they were greeted and asked if they wanted their usual dishes, which I would appreciate if I were a regular. The porch seating seemed to be dog friendly too. The steps were a bit steep and my Mom did struggle with them a little but she had been walking all over the place for a few hours.

Woo hoo, I finally made it over to Phở Cam Ly! The reviews were awesome and my friends were raving about it but it seemed to take forever until I was finally seated(near a window) at this fantastic restaurant on Magazine. My experience here did not disappoint. I met a friend here for lunch and walking in, I was immediately blown away by the renovations that had been done to the place. Small world time: after I checked in here, a woman on twitter informed me that her husband was the one who did all of the renovations(I swear, I think I am linked to everyone in this town via social media). Kudos to him! There is a gorgeous wood floor and plenty of tables and space. You would never guess that this place is as a big as it is, just by looking at it from the outside. I was in a coffee mood, so I ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee so that I would have some caffeine to sip on. As for the food: this place has everything you could imagine. In fact, I think that they have the most expansive menu of any Vietnamese restaurant in the area. For an appetizer, we decided on the spring roll with pork patties. This came with two large rolls to and order and it was fantastic. The pork was tender and had a lot of flavor. For my entrée, I got the raw eye of round and brisket phở. I found that the broth had A LOT of flavor and a bit of that earthy quality that i like in a good bowl. The meat was perfect and there was a lot of it. I definitely left here full and satisfied. If you are feeling adventurous, you can always try the Phở challenge: finish a huge bowl of two pounds of meat and two pounds of noodles in one hour and it’s free. If you fail, you gotta fork over $ 30. I have no idea if anyone has actually completed this challenge, but I could see it making for an interesting UYE, if anyone is ever hungry enough. I will definitely return to Phở Cam Ly. I am putting it up there with Tan Dinh, Phở Bang(on Manhattan) and Magasin as one of my regular Phở haunts.

Great phở and bahn mi + cheap and not crowded = new fav Vietnamese place Came here with my boyfriend and was surprised how empty it was. They have some tables outside and you can sit and eat with your pup if he or she is well behaved. The phở was really good and not too salty. They have vegan phở which is awesome. The tofu bahn mi was rated by my boyfriend as his fav on the east bank. We would highly recommend.

HOWDOYOUSAYTHISPHRASE: \‘fuh-k’ahm-lee-\ without sounding like a belligerent Southerner entreating that Confederate General to rid our city of all these new Yankee carpet-baggers? In actuality«Phở’ Cam Ly» means«waterfall» and doesn’t refer to that brothy stew. SEEMINGLYSMALLERPOTIONS at the same price as Magasin across the street and Namese. I always take half of my meal home. Unfortunately at about 2/3’s the size of most Vietnamese café dishes, I left kinda hungry. LUCK O’ THEIRISH: \‘fuh-k’ahm-lee-\ opened St Patty’s day so that should be a good omen. Yet while the space is large and clean there’s no bar seating to enjoy a dribbly, juicy Phở. The employees are friendly but the food could improve and the price/portions rationalized. I liked the Bun but it lacks mint, cilantro and lime. For me, Lily’s has the most complete vermicelli bowls.
