Conveniently located in a converted double shotgun Uptown on Magazine St, Potsalot embodies what New Orleans does so well: the local business. Alex and Cindy provide a level of service, talent, and wares that you may really only match in a small town of yesteryear. The inventory varies from trays to cups to bowls to(yes, custom) sinks, and because of a state designation, sales are tax free! Recently we installed one of their sinks in our half bath addition and are super pleased. Likely going back for more soon; yes, we like to install half baths, but I digress. NOTE: I was in today and informed by Alex that each day in November there are sale pieces to be «discovered.» Yes, discovered. Ask him for more details but basically some items are reduced from 20−80% AND! there’s one item each day that if you discover the orange sticker(I think it’s orange), it’s FREE. Yes, free. What’re you waiting for? The holidays are upon us. Go discover what Potsalot has going on!

Potsalot is a great local pottery place with some innovative designs. They do a bread bowl… which you bake in. And now have a wine bowl(doubt that’s the real name) that allows you to ice down 3 bottles and the niches in the bowl keep them upright. It appeared in a Treme episode according to in-store press. They also do vessel sinks… or as my MiL’s plumber called them birdbath sinks. She has one from here and loves it. They are doing some really interesting things with pressed clay that I really like.
