This place is absolutely phenomenal, I walked in today by accident asking where to get a cab back to the French quarter, I’m from California and I was lost, and the owner welcomed me in and called me a cab and took care of me and I decided what the heck I’ll have a philly cheese steak. It was the absolute best Philly cheesesteak sandwich I’ve ever had and I’m a huge fan of the Philly cheesesteak but never did I think it can be this good, then I find out the bread is actually from Philadelphia and is made by 100+ year old company and it was simply great. Highly recommended this place, would go back in a heartbeat.

I love the surf & turf! The shrimp and steak is seasoned well. The bread is like a small french bread… even if you wanted to add extra onions or bellpepper it might not fit. Only thing I dont care for is how early the store closes(5pm).

I really wanted a REAL Philly cheesesteak, but it just may not be possible unless I go back to South Philly.

Good, basic, high-value breakfast. Service is friendly, and attentive. Clean and airy atmosphere. Lively local clientele. Along a busy road into downtownNew Orleans. Easy to miss amidst the new construction and emerging in the area. Don’t miss it! This is my new favorite breakfast place in-town. Basic American breakfasts, no quiches, crepes, beignets, pastries, just eggs and inlets cooked well and delivered fast.

Just came for breakfast and picked up a Togo order. Food was pretty good, but the manners of the staff seem to set this place apart. Very warm; called me by name and told me to have a good day as I left. I’ll be back.

Sautéed Philly cheese streak and shrimps. I know you’re think where do I sign up, right?! Hands down one of the best rendition of a Philly cheese steak po-boys/sandwich I’ve ever had in New Orleans. Fresh bread, juicy seared steak and shrimp with melted cheese. Dress it how you like and DEVOUR! Yep, that’s exactly what I did.

I remember way back in the day(before Katrina) when Philly’s was in the Plaza mall out in New Orleans east, then there was a location(post Katrina) down on Airline hwy and when that one closed i was devastated, i thought Philly’s was gone forever. And then my cousin told me about the location on Claiborne a couple years ago and happiness was restored. Whenever you have a need for probably one of the best surf & turf sandwiches around, this is your place. Cheap as hell but believe me the lack in price is not indicative of lack in taste! Great place to stop and grab a quick meal. Easy to pass up, but try it once, and it’ll be hard to resist!

Food was pretty good and pretty cheap considering what you get. There are many many better places to eat in New Orleans but this place is alright if you’re around. I had the breakfast sandwich, which was probably worth it’s 3 dollar price tag. Nothing special though.

We went for breakfast. It was adequate and cheap. Betsy’s is much better on Canal and offers more food for the $$. The owner was very nice. The décor goes from the theory that«Less is More». Be prepared to eat on styrofoam plates.

My mind is blown how this place has such decent reviews. Maybe some people don’t know what it’s like to actually have a good Po Boy. I do know I went in there and ordered a Philly Cheese steak expecting this to be their specialty due to their name. I could not have been more mistaken. The meat tasted rancid and was not at all appealing. So I guess that was strike one. I get back to work and was explained that their cheese stack is actually rubbish and I should try one of their chicken Po-Boys and see what I thought. I ordered a Po-Boy with chicken and pineapple type of thing and sort of thought it was awful as well. Just not as awful. This would be strike 2. Strike 3 is actually not from me going back in, but it was from getting ungodly sick and threw up nonstop for a day. This caused my rib to scratch my rib and then I developed in a lung infection that lasted 2 weeks where I couldn’t get out of a seating position. So basically have 2 weeks of pure hell due to rancid meat they have their. Why do they get 2 stars? The guy behind the counter was really nice when ordering. So I like to paint silver linings every now and again.

Driving down Claiborne, I’ve always noticed Phillys Café but have yet to try it. My boyfriend, a lover of cheesesteaks, was itching to go. We finally went and were pleasantly surprised! The cheesesteaks were delicious! You can get a 7″ or a 12″ depending on your appetite. The cheesesteaks come dressed with lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise, bell peppers, onion, and mushrooms. They also serve breakfast as well as other sandwiches. This place is nothing fancy, but the service is great. If you’re craving a cheesesteak, you have to check out Phillys Café.

WooHoo, best philly cheese staks I have had in New Orleans. These guys are between the McDonalds and the old Pizza Hut on Claiborne, I got carry out for the first time from there and wow it was good. They are not dripping grease like most cheese steaks and the bread is great. Many times the sub rolls on cheese staks are huge and you end up with too much bread, not the case here. WARNING, they spice their meat and it has a bit of kick. Definately give these guys a shot if you are in the area.
