Cheap, quick, great frozen margaritas! A little on the nitty gritty side, but the staff is great and the food is good.

This was a great experience. We traveled to New Orleans from Florida on vacation and discovered Juans Flying Burrito on 515 Barrone St. We were seated immediately and served quickly and friendly. I had the blackend fish tacos and thought I was in heaven. The girls split fajitas and boy were the portions large. The prices were low and the food awsome. The place was clean and festive. I am definitely a fan from now on.

Absolutely delicious! Tried the pork and slaw tacos and the taco truck tacos. Wouldn’t have anticipated coming to New Orleans for Mexican or Tex-mex but WOW. The meat is melt in your mouth and the spicy slaw on the pork tacos is to die for. Good cheap drinks. A little off the path of the normal touristy stuff but we stumbled upon this location by accident and would definitely go back. Must try!

Sassy Mexican food with tons of sauces. Large portions and we came hungry. Cool vibe and was great to just stop in and hang out while we waited for some friends to meet us at the nail salon. Enjoyed a margarita and a big tasty wet burrito. I would come back for sure. It was delicious and I loved all the creativity in the menu and décor.

If you’re looking for a Mexican restaurant with a bit of a twist, Juan’s is the place for you. At an affordable price and among a unique atmosphere, I was able to enjoy a Red Chile Chicken and Goat Cheese Quesadilla that blended many different flavors, making for a delicious bite. Juan’s Flying Burrito is a Mid City favorite of mine that I will continue to frequent.

I love Mexican food. One of my favorite places to eat Mexican food is Juan’s Flying Burrito. I’ve never seen any of their locations empty. At this particular location the only gripe I’d have is parking but that’s something that can be easily dealt with. What I like about Juan’s is the great service I have received time and time agian. Now I don’t have super high service standards but when I’m treated to a warm meal, tasty cocktail, and outstanding service it always makes a dining experience memorable. Everyone there from the bartenders to wait staff are top notch. I also like how playful the menu is. They always have a unique special so always ask about that before you dive into the menu. Also they usually have a new cocktail or two that you’d want to try. Definitely give this place a go for great food and great service.

I love Juan’s Flying Burrito! I eat here way too often. They have amazing queso! I’ve also had their taco salad, quesadillas, chicken bacon ranch tacos(which aren’t on the menu but are a daily special), nachos, I’ve basically eaten everything off their menu except the burritos. haha! But I’m sure those are amazing too! It has a fun atmosphere. Their take out service is quick and easy. And their Margaritas are very strong. All excellent things in my book.

Went here last night and was disappointed with the jerk chicken burrito. Everything else was fine. Service, Margaritas, and my wife’s flying enchiladas. However I might as well have ordered a black bean burrito because that’s what it tasted like. It was bland. I had to drench it with their homemade hot sauces for any hope of tasting something. The chicken should have been the star. It wasn’t. The chicken would be better simmered in a jerk spiced curry then pulled. Instead I’m pretty sure they are just dusting a breast with an off the shelf jerk chicken spice from rouses, grilling, slicing then adding it to a bean burrito. Where it loses all hope of ever being tasted. To sum up; don’t order the jerk burrito.

I am a huge fan of the Magazine St location so we decided to give the mid city one a try. Went to the restaurant at about 8:30 for a late dinner. Wasn’t sure if we could park next to the building or not as it was after hours(the signage was kind of unclear) so that was frustrating. We had a little wait which isn’t a big deal and decided to just eat at the bar. The bartenders were very nice and attentive. The food tasted exactly the same as the Magazine St location. I get the same thing every time. the wicked garden fajitas. One day I’ll venture out of my comfort zone, but the veg fajitas are just too good! I ordered a single margarita but she poured(and charged) a double. That was a little frustrating as well, but obviously didn’t stop me from drinking it. I’d go back to this location, but I think Magazine St is still my fave.

Honestly, home of my favorite burrito in NOLA– the veggie punk. The margaritas are outstanding. The other food I’ve had here has been standard and good. The ambience is trendy/casual. It can get quite crowded at lunch and dinner time, and there is pretty much only space to wait outside. Service is always fast, though. This location usually has more children and families than the one on magazine. They also have brunch that I have never tried, but I want to because I bet it’s delicious. Brunch margs? Brunch margs.

I’ve been to Juan’s twice: once in 2012 when it was dead and once this year when it was slam-packed. I have to say, as much as I dislike a wait — I prefer it when it was busy. It’s a hop and a skip away from the Quarter, so you lose most of the tourist masses along the way. I have a feeling this place is mostly frequented by locals. When every seat is filled on a Saturday night, that is a good thing in my book. The food must not be so bad, either. I had a double margarita on the rocks and the Pork-Slaw tacos. The margarita was made fast and tasted great. We waited a tiny bit for our food, but my tacos looked great and tasted wonderful. The pork didn’t have a ton of flavor to it by itself, I will say. However, mixed with the slaw and the right hot/mole sauce — they were delicious. It cost us a $ 12 Über ride to get into Mid-City from the Quarter. I highly recommend it if you’re sick of being robbed at the tourist traps. Explore North and you find divey, but delicious places like Juan’s.

So going for Mexican food in New Orleans just seems strange. This was a group pick so tagging along is the way to go. I live in Albuquerque New Mexico so my standards are high. This is just a average place if you are use to real South of the Boarder eats. The spice factor only comes with hot sauce. The burrito is what you’d expect from a chain that will remain unnamed. The tortilla to filling ration seemed off even though the burrito is big. It’s not a bad stop, don’t get me wrong but it doesn’t seem to have any options for someone looking for Cajan food. The grits on the menu were not available the day I was there.

Although the parking is VERY limited, it’s a cute and also favored Mexican joint in the Mid City area. The 504 nachos were AWESOME& I would definitely recommend this to a friends but the parking may turn a lot of people away. We found ourselves having to park on the street next to Walgreens and then walking to our destination. Honestly, I would consider it worth it. It wasn’t too far of a walk… possibly a block or so. The service was great and we received our food in a timely manner. 10 mins or so and our food was out. Looking for Mexican with a New Orleans spin? Definitely recommend you try Juan’s out.

First of all can I say happy hour is ALL day Sunday. ALLDAY. I don’t know about you, but it doesn’t get any better than Sunday day drinking. Their happy hour also goes until 7:00 on week days which is a plus because who can really make it to happy hour before 6:00? My husband and I went to the mid city location on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed with a wait. Fortunately, no one was sitting at the bar and with $ 6.00 double margaritas we couldn’t refuse. The margaritas were perfect and fresh. We ordered the super nacho grande and the flying burrito to split. The nachos were a HUGE portion with a ton of toppings. The bartender was nice enough to ask if we wanted more chips which was great because we got to scoop up more of the good stuff! The burrito was amazing too and even better when we got the bill and we couldn’t believe how inexpensive the meal was. Overall, this is a great place to chill and eat some good food. Downside to the mid city location, even though they have a parking lot most of the parking is for the spa next door and I wasn’t lucky enough to score a spot in the lot. Also, the place is small so it can get loud.

I am sure I’m in the minority here, but I just don’t love Juan’s. I want to love them, but I’ve always left feeling disappointed. While I don’t like spicy food and lean towards more bland food, their food is almost too bland. I feel like it has no flavor whatsoever. I think I’ve tried the enchiladas, burritos, and nachos. I don’t really want to try anything else. I can say that their queso is really good. I could come hang out for some chips and dip. The ambiance is cool and eclectic, and service is usually good. They also have a nice full bar. Maybe people like them for the drinks. I can’t comment on that because I don’t like margaritas(guess I’m in the minority on that, too).

Been meaning to check this place out. Went to the one on Magazine Street and loved it. This one — I think the population of the folks is what threw me off a bit. Service: good. Food: good. Price: could be better. But not bad. Ambiance: hipster/idk what to call them/a bit … Just different than what I expected. I ordered the beef enchilada with pinto beans and yellow rice(instead of black beans). The enchilada was great. I ordered more jalapeños tho, because they only gave a few. It was a good meal; there was nothing bad about the place, service, or food. I believe I was just expecting a different type of clientele. I would likely go up the street to taqueria Guerrero next time.

I went to Juan’s on Monday. It’s Thursday and I’m still thinking about it. It’s like that man(or woman) you can’t get out of your head. For me, parking wasn’t too bad since I arrived early and I had a mighty fine gentlemen guiding me. The lot is small and spaces are limited so keep that in mind. I ordered a Western Burrito with chicken. Let me just say that this burrito can stand alone as being the best burrito ever…(sour cream, salsa, green peppers, onions, jalapeños and cheese? Hell yes!) but get it «wet». The red chili sauce, tomatoes, sour cream and melted cheese only make it that much better. Service was friendly and prompt. The food was incredible and I can’t wait to go again.

Okay, so today I decided to try out this place in hopes of getting a flavorful, blackened redfish taco here at Juan’s. So, whenever I got to the location, one of the most obvious things had to be the fact that the parking was absolutely TERRIBLE. A majority of it consists of a small amount of street parking, and the rest was a small amount of parking spaces exclusive to the restaurant. However, signs are posted up on certain lots around Juan’s that say that the location is reserved for customers of «Insert Name Here» ONLY! So, I was forced to park at the Walgreens which was a block or so away, and walk to the destination. Upon entering the restaurant, you could tell that the place was packed judging by the large amount of commotion, and numerous waitresses running around taking orders. From then on, I seated myself, and awaited assistance seeing as I was ready to order. The waitress told me that someone would be with me soon, so I waited. Around ten minutes later, a waitress finally asked me if someone has been with me to take my order, and I told her no one has. Give or take another five minutes, two customers that just came in were sat down, and given drinks while I was left here staring at the menu. Finally, after a good twenty minutes had past, I was able to get my order of the blacked redfish tacos. Five minutes later, they were out on my table, and I took a nice wholesome bite into the fresh, delicate tacos. So, let’s break it down: Blackened Redfish Taco: The total cost of the dish comes out to around $ 10, but at least you’re provided with three tacos instead of just one measly one. The three tacos were actually soft shell, filled with blackened red fish, and an assortment of vegetables with a special sauce. What truly gave the taco a crunch had to be the vegetables inside of it, while the flavor was provided by the fish. With that being said, the fish could have used a bit more seasoning, but the texture’s and flavors were definitely there. My only complaint has to be that the portions of the fish that they place into the taco are small. So, to wrap up this review, the service wasn’t amazing, but it wasn’t something I’d consider absolutely terrible. The blackened red fish tacos were delicious, prices were average, and the atmosphere is sort of calming.
