I had a coupon for a free kids meal to entice me to visit the location after an afternoon at City Park. As everyone else has stated, this is a fast food Subway like place. The Sunday I took kiddo the place was empty. I ordered the tacos with steak and a cheese quesadilla for kiddo. Both went over well and it was a good deal for $ 7 after coupon. I can see coming back if I don’t have enough time for a sit down place and don’t want to settle for a fast-food burger and fries.

My expectations weren’t too high, but they were handily exceeded. It’s a familiar set-up: pick the base product, walk down the counter adding ingredients as you go. If it reminds of you of Subway, no surprise: the company owns TDM. I got a burrito, and it was considerably more flavorful and a bit cheaper than the ones at Felipe’s, but not as good as Juan’s. For the money and the convenience, good quality. I’ll be back.

Loaded nachos! Oh yeah! Better than Taco Bell but not quite as expensive as a Mexican restaurant. I definitely appreciated the assembly-line food counter. I’d place it slightly above Moe’s and Izzo’s on the Americanized Mexi Food Spectrum. Great for the style of eatery it is. Lose one star due to waitstaff general lack of knowledge regarding their menu options.

Clean, quick, and affordable. The food was good. It’s very simple, and it’s definitely a nice place to just get your mex and be out the door. The staff was over friendly, and the place was very well kept up.

My SO and I stopped in for lunch during a long walk around the neighborhood. We were total newbies to TdM and had no idea what to expect. But lo and behold, it’s like a Mexican food Subway. Fair enough. I had a taco salad with carnitas. My SO had loaded nachos. It was quick, decently good, and the guy behind the counter told me guacamole would be extra for me, but included on hers, so I should just get it on the side for her and take it for myself. Why thank you, kind sir! Our food itself was pretty good. Obviously not fresh or top notch, but good for what it is.

It’s a decent Mexican fast food chain(sort of set up like Subway where you pick your sides/toppings). It’s better than Taco Bell by 10 miles. Having said that, I almost had a heart attack when I looked up the nutrition info on their website afterwards. WAY more sodium than I expected, not to mention calories. It’s pretty dumb of me to ever assume any sort of quick food would be low in anything though. So the punishment fits the crime.

We’ve been going to this place since it opened and it’s always decent, not to mention super fast! TdM is owned by Subway and has a similar feel to it, but I think the quality is much better than Subway. It’s a build-your-own burrito and taco place and the ingredients are always fresh and well-stocked. I usually eat vegetarian, so there are plenty of options for me to eat. I always get a veggie burrito and load it up with lots of veggies! I also like their chips and«medium» salsa. If ever around Delgado, check out Taco del Mar!

This place was pretty okay in my book. It’s quick and convenient. I had two tacos, one with ground beef and the other with chicken. The beef was typical taco meat nothing special but with all the toppings you can choose from it made a pretty good taco. That chicken though… No… That’s all there is to be said. The employees were very nice and funny and helpful(It was my first time so I needed a little guidance)

Quick & reasonably priced West Coast Mexican. I was thrilled to see green chili as an option & then disappointed to discover that it was mild.

Good burrito place for mid city; finally somewhere we can get a quick fast burrito with no headache. Easy parking in lot which is hardly ever full, cheap burritos(small starts at 4 $) and ok topping options… this isnt your top notch large scale shop but for a area in need of one it will do the trick… And they give discounts to Delgado faculty and students making it an even more affordable take out option!

It is located right next to a Subway and echoes the Subway experience, but the menu is still confusing somehow. I almost turned around and walked out because I could not make sense of the«Make it a meal, pick three, add chips, add sauces, etc. etc.» Sometimes offering too many options is tedious. I ordered a large chicken quesadilla then wanted some chips and salsa/hot sauces/sour cream/guacamole to dip on the side. The polite cashier said«oh, then use the pick 3.» Me: Okay, I just want chips and salsa. «Okay so what three?» Me: Umm, well, chips, salsa, and guacamole? Is that 3 or is it three side items? «So you want queso.» Me: what? no. Just give me chips and salsa, that is fine. Aside from that mind boggling exchange the food was alright. It isn’t a sit down like Juan’s so don’t expect that quality.

No thank you. I was optimistic when I walked in. A «build your own burrito» place, just like in college, was what I’ve been looking for. Skip it. Trust me. Pico de gallo was dry and flavorless. I tried the fish… big mistake. It’s basically a fish stick. which they heat up in a toaster oven. I passed on the wilted lettuce and cilantro. 2 stars because the prices are decent, but the food is no good. The kids working there were nice.

It IS the Subway of tacos and burritos! Fast, fresh and just fine when you don’t have time for a sit-down experience. We got a small chicken burrito($ 4) and the small tacos, one chicken and one fish(2/$ 4). You get to add whatever topping you’d like and skip the ones you don’t like. The fish taco is a fried fish patty, not horrible, but I prefer grilled. The chicken meat is pulled and in a light sauce. We got our order to go and it held up well on the ride home. I’d be happy to try it again!

Taco Del Mar is the Subway of Tex-Mex. Having said that, I love it for what it is! The employees are super duper friendly & the prices are great. I usually get vegetarian tacos or a burrito — the pico de gallo is fresh & flavorful, the guacamole is definitely passable, and the black beans are really well seasoned.

I was running to a job so Juans was out of the question. I thought I would swing by the new place in the hood and grab a couple tacos on the fly. The place is new and clean and the employees are nice people. The menu board is simple and a little confusing at the same time. As heather said in a previous review the food has 0 flavor. The refried beans were like a soup. I knew it was a chain so did not expect much but I was still very dissapointed. Even the rice that came with it was dry and flavorless. I never thought I would have to write a review with one star.

The food has no flavor whatsoever. Their«queso» is nacho cheese sauce. I would go to Taco Bell before I would go back here.

Where else are you going to get $ 2 tacos if it’s not off a truck? Well, here at Taco Del Mar. After watching the storefront come together over these many months, Allen and I finally got to sink our teeth into an oversized shell. The crispy shells are huge and you can order meats a la cart(ie, you don’t have to get 3 beef tacos if you order the«mondo» meal unlike a lot of chains/restaurants that lock you in to one protein choice). This place will remind you of a Subway in that you move along a counter choosing toppings and that’s no accident: TDL is owned by Subway. The fish taco is a glorified fishstick but everything else was solid and the medium/hot salsa were actually great. The people were very friendly, the place was super tidy, and we look forward to returning.
