Hair Loft

Nicole M was wonderful! She is very professional yet still laid back. I went in for the Friday blowout! Great price for such pampering. I was pleasantly greeted by the front desk assistant and was offered champagne! Yum :) My kind of salon! Nicole took the time to talk to me about my hair type, future preferences, side I part it, and then gave the BEST head and shoulder massage with my wash. I was given the Kerastase treatment. It left my hair feeling soft and smelling amazing! Thank you!!!

I had such a nightmarish experience here! I came in to get my hair dyed for the first time. After telling the stylist what I wanted, she assured me that she understood and was «gonna do her own thing with it.» The first dye job was a disaster to the stylist’s own admission, so she and another stylist got to work on dying my hair again. After two dyes and three hours, I told the stylist that I was still unhappy with the color. She told me that I was just in shock because I had never dyed my hair before. After 24 hrs of hating my hair color, I went back to ask for something new. The same stylist told me she would have to charge me another $ 80 if I wanted her to change the color. She then proceeded to argue with me and tell me that it was my fault I was unhappy with the color. Never have I been so insulted and unsatisfied with a paid service in my life.

Just got a cut and color this week, Erin is just amazing. Service is outstanding, I am so glad I found this place, I have only being one year in NOLA and I was so nervous about changing from my longtime Stylist in my home country, but both the cut and color where more than needed. Thanks Erin for your kindness and professionalism, I loved the results.

Been here twice and both times had exceptional service. I have a lot of hair, it’s fine and delicate. It takes a lot of work to give me a new color and Nicole was excellent at doing so. The place is clean, good products are used, and it seems like a salon even Tabatha would be pleased with.

Excellent salon and great service. I went in to get a men’s cut and was kind of skeptical about a woman cutting my hair, But my stylist Nehaya (I think that’s how you spell it) did a great job and will def go back. Highly recommend this salon. Also a great atmosphere and was offered a drink while I was waiting which is always a plus.

Excellent. I’ve gone twice and both cuts were great. A tiny bit more expensive than a SuperCuts (or something similar) but WAY BETTER quality. They’ll offer you a free drink which is nice, and it’s usually very fast.

First time coming here; I liked the atmosphere and friendly staff. I was pleased with my hair (permanent waving) and will be returning!

Finding a solid spot to get my hair trimmed after I moved back home from Cali was not an easy task. It’s not as if I couldn’t find the skill but I couldn’t find the appropriate professionalism. While living in California, I’d become accustomed to my fabulous stylist in S.F., whom was always on time and got me in and out… always looking amazing.
Luckily, my sister’s friend heard my cry and recommended I make an appointment with Nikki at Hair Loft. And thank goodness I did! The salon is adorable but not too uptight and Nikki is a doll! She is so friendly and easy-​going and really took an interest in my growing-​out woes. Growing out a pixie is no easy task… let me tell you! Nikki has been so patient and has truly coached me through the entire ordeal, helping to keep me on the straight and narrow when I wanted to take those scissors and chop off more locks. Now that I’m growing out well, I’m really looking forward to getting color done.
All that to say… do try Hair Loft if you’re looking for a cool salon that is about business and not all the frills of décor (per se). Not to se Hair Loft doesn’t have all that but the proof in the pudding is truly about hair and not the look of the joint.

My favorite hair stylist Caye moved and Spa Isbell was cool enough to tell me where (def give them props for that). So like the professional little stalker I am, I quickly made an appt with her at Hair Loft.
As always, I had a great time getting my hair done, seriously, this is the happiest I’ve been with my hair in years! Since I’ve trusted my locks to Caye they’re so healthy and perfectly colored and trimmed. She helps me keep the length but is honest enough to tell me when its time to cut some off because its starting to look Whitesnake 80s video long! As always Caye works quickly and efficiently so I’m not spending the entire day there, but in no way, shape or form makes you feel rushed! Also, she’s an animal lover too, so we spend the majority of time discussing how much animals rock!
Speaking of rock, one of the stylists mustve been playing music from her pandora account, I was loving the selection of rock playing.
Now on to the salon itself. its located in a strip mall on Tchoup St, so I’m sure I wouldve overlooked it not going there for a specific stylist. There is a Massage Envy and nail salon in the same plaza, so you could totally make an affordable pamper day out of it! The other stylists seemed really cool and knowledgeable, and the salon offered water, soda, or champagne (extra points there)! I believe the salon was recently opened, it was SUPER clean and all the equipment looked new! Also the prices were quite a bit lower than previous salons, so I indulged in the great line of Kerastase products they offer. Just to note they also offer 20% off with a student id Mon — Thurs.
The only downside was that I went in on a Saturday morning, so there was an abundance of children coming in and out with their parents, I’ll schedule my next appt accordingly. Nothing against children, but a hair salon is boring for them, so they tend to act a fool. That said, Caye is such a great a stylist, I’ll tune out screaming children for her fabulous color and cuts!
