I would not be the woman I am today without Charlotte, Jennifer and the team. Love you and never, ever leave.

Okay, I’ll admit it. I’m self diagnosed borderline OCD with my hair and even more obsessed with finding the right hair stylist. I have been getting my hair cut and colored by Taray for about a year and a half now, which is the longest I’ve stuck with the same stylist. I found her when she was still at Urban Angels salon and went to her based on the numerous Unilocal reviews that kept mentioning her name. She gives a perfect haircut every single time and it’s not one of those haircuts that looks good in the salon and terrible when you try to style it at home! I even took in my very nice set of hair extensions that I purchased to add length and volume to have her help me with them! She not only colored my hair to match them exactly, she layered them and showed me how to put them in myself to make sure they blended seamlessly with my real hair! Go see Taray!

I went to the Charlotte Williamson Salon for the first time. I made an appointment with Taray for a haircut and with Jennifer to have my eyebrows done. Let me just say IMINTOTALLOVE with this salon! They are located on Magazine Street uptown and very easy to get to. When you walk in, the atmosphere is relaxed, airy, and you know you’ve come to the right place. I was instantly at ease! Jennifer right away took me to do my eyebrows. She did an amazing job! Especially since my brows are challenging lol. And then I saw Taray for my haircut. She is just the best! So kind, patient, asks questions, really gets to know you and your style profile. I showed her some pics of what I was looking for and that is exactly what she gave me! I am one happy girl and I will be back to see them again! My new go-to beauty destination!

I’m a licensed(not working) cosmetologist. This makes me nearly impossible to please. I’ve seen the same girl since I graduated cosmetology school 10 years ago. Living in Houston and now in Nola has made trips to Lafayette to get my hair done undesirable, and so a few times I’ve strayed and tried someone different, only to run back to her every time. I feel like a complete traitor saying that I will not be running back this time. I stumbled upon David through a mutual friend on Instagram. Yes, the queen of picky chose a salon/stylist based purely on social media friendships. I asked where he worked, chewed on the thought of trying someone new, and called a week later to make my appointment. Then I had to wait three weeks for that appointment, which put my mind at ease a bit right away. Anyone that booked ahead has a much higher chance of pleasing me. The salon is beautiful. Very open. Lots of natural lighting.(Why don’t more salons do this? Natural lighting is when we look our best.) The woman at the reception desk was kind. The retail area is very well kept and offers an array of products and gifts. It was exactly what I would expect of an Uptown salon. But that didn’t stop the nervousness from setting in. Within a few moments, David’s assistant brought me back. David introduced himself, put two and two together to figure out that I was Megan from IG, and then we jumped straight into a very detailed consultation. We went over EVERYTHING. What I liked about it currently and what was bothering me about it. How I style it. How I WANT to style it. We discussed growing it out.(I’m fairly certain that I let him decide for me that it’s going to happen. That level of trust has not existed in me before.) Before the end of the consultation I had already texted several of my top worriers to let them know that, «I love him already and I’m no longer nervous.» And the finished result is fantastic. It has the movement that I wanted. It looks healthy and shiny. The color is FLAWLESS.(Today I did my go-to/signature wavy look, and it’s perfect.) I want to touch on price, b/c I know that’s how half of you decide one a salon. If you want good hair, you’re going to spend good money. Yes, it’s pricey(not the most expensive, but up there). But I didn’t have sticker shock. I’ve been to less pricey places that gave me sticker shock, b/c the service wasn’t half as good. I don’t know if different stylists have different prices. If it’s that big of a concern for you, you should ask when you call. But I will say that David is worth every single penny that I spent there last weekend. And I know that he will continue to be every single time that I go back. I’ve never been happier with a salon/stylist experience.

Now that Urban Angels is closed and Taray has moved here, this is my new salon. I went last week and it was a great experience. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and professional, the location is easy to get to, and as always I can not recommend Taray as a stylist enough. I look forward to going back soon!

I had such a great experience! I love the salon. It is lovely, comfortable, and not at all stuffy. Caroline did such a great job on my haircut. Personally, I don’t think she charged enough. She listened to what I wanted and didn’t try to talk me into chopping it off like everyone else has. It’s been a few weeks now and has grown out so well.

I went in for the first time for a trim and partial highlight. I moved to New Orleans a bit over a year ago, and have been struggling to find someone I like to do my hair. The salon itself is larger than it seems from outside, very trendy, clean, and they have a lovely dog which belongs to the owner who walks up to you for a scratch behind the ears. I was worried from the start, because my consultation was super short, and my stylist didn’t seem to interested, but she did a great job with my cut AND color. I’ll definitely go back to her and see if she can reproduce the great results. I also liked that she didn’t try to force product down my throat, she talked to me about their lines, but didn’t yammer on about it. The only major downside to the experience was the girl who washed my hair. I think she was another stylist, because my stylist was doubling up on another haircut while I got my hair washed, and she seemed to be in a rush to leave. She was so rough, she nearly a) pulled my hair out and b) wrenched my head off my neck. It was the worst wash I’ve ever had. It was painful. There was an older woman who was washing another woman’s hair, and that lucky girl was falling in and out of sleep, I was so jealous!

Sweet little salon on Magazine. I felt at home as soon as I walked in. Everyone greeted me with a huge smile. And, I felt as though I had been going there for years– even though, it was my first time in the building. They take appointments only, but I just happened to walk-in. They were able to take me. I was so surprised! My haircut is fabulous, and the price was reasonable. I highly recommend this salon for anyone that needs a beautiful cut.
