This gallery is so great and is filled with cute and quirky art. I am sure that I had definitely seen the art of Matt Rinard before I set foot into his gallery. His painting, in a «cartoony» style and mainly of animals in funny situations is sure to make anyone happy and bring a smile to your face. Here you can buy originals and prints, and the art makes the perfect gift for someone with a sense of humor. Postcards and small prints are also available. The gallery also has photography prints and art prints from various other artists. I like that the gallery is wide open with a lot of space and the woman working was sure to ask us if we were looking for anything in particular. Even if you aren’t in the market for any art, this gallery is worth checking out.

A fun space and amazing art! We were lucky enough to see Matt when we were in — a great opportunity to learn more about his creative works.

After moving a few times last year, I think this Gallery has settled in at the 600 block of Royal. It’s a great space with lots of exposed brick and high ceilings… the better to showcase and hang art! Beth helped me with my newest Barkus poster, as well as another from a couple of years ago that I skipped. She was great to work with and was very patient with my indecision. The gallery still features a variety of artists who find their inspiration from our companion animals. They sell everything from original paintings to notecards so there is a price point for everyone. Love the fanciful spirit of the art.

Great art depicting pets with a comedic approach, mixed with a local vibe.

Came into the gallery on my birthday, November 2, 2014, after a stroll by and my husband getting excited about Pete the Cat, because we read the books to our daughter and she loves it. We looked around, then I approached the a man bubble wrapping art, and I said«the ‘You’re Not the Boss of Me’ canvas in the window is not priced» he looked up and very SNARKLY replied«most things *IN* here aren’t priced» and then he called someone to find out the price. While he was on the phone my husband came to my side and I asked him if he heard the way he talked to me and my husband said«uh, yeah…» When the man got off the phone I said«I would like you to know that everything I have looked at in here HAS been priced…» And he said«did I say that?» And I responded while walking out«Yes, you were actually very rude to me!» My husband took a lot of work fixing my birthday mood after this interaction. I realize some have the opinion, «if you have to ask the price you can’t afford it» but I don’t happen to share this belief. I will say after a Facebook complaint and review we were invited back to the store, but chose to purchase our wonderful New Orleans art elsewhere. I saw some wonderful art I still wish I had an opportunity to purchase, perhaps in the future we will return.

If you have ever wondered what your cat or dog is thinking while they rip the newspaper, go for a walk, rip the stuffing out of a toy, etc. then the Guthrie Rinard Gallery might be able to provide some insight for you. We popped in here because we, as New Yorkers, love galleries. It was also beginning to rain outside and we had already ate. Everything here was so much fun to read and look at. I wanted to take one painting home for each room of my house. The sense of humor of the artist is amazing and really stands out in his work. I would definitely come here again and perhaps purchase something next time.

One of my favorite galleries on the planet! Matt Rinard is hilarious and his twisted sense of humor translates into really fun artwork. HIs dog and jazz pieces are my favorites.

I checked out this gallery on the suggestion of a dog treat bakery just down the street. If you are a dog owner(especially dachshund owner), then you need to stop by. The art of Matt Rinard is fun, colorful and cool. This gallery sells original pieces, prints and even postcards and some t-shirts. Many of the pieces were available both framed and unframed. Mr. Rinard has done an excellent job capturing the fun nature of pets. Some of his art is viewable on the gallery website as well.
