Le Jardin

Le Jardin is one of my favorite shops in New Orleans. It’s full of wonderful art, handmade jewelry, and other unique things and the owners are delightful. I stop in every time I am in town. The best part? The owner sees me once every few years but remembers me. And what I purchased!

This is a fabulous gallery/​art/​gift shop in NOLA. As a bonus, there is an excellent violinist who often plays very near.
There were so many wonderful items by local artists — outside of the typical paintings, there were magnets, bottle openers, ornaments, jewelry, trivets, etc. all hand crafted. It’s definitely worth a stop.

This is review is for the next door store Adorn which based on their site appears to be connected to Le Jardin.
We really enjoyed shopping at Adorn and ended up spending like $ 500 or so on a custom tile sign, some art, several pieces of jewelry and a few other little things that were very cute. Love this shop and love the local art that is in here and presented. The shop runner, now sure if she was the owner seemed to tire of us after a certain point which was kind of disappointing but maybe she was having an off day. At one point we were going to go back in but decided not to because we saw she was there again the next day and we didn’t want to annoy her further. Other than that we did love this place and will most likely return for more art on our next NOLA adventure.

I specifically chose to write about Le Jardin for this review since it was such a positive experience.
I encountered Le Jardin first two years ago on a trip to NOLA. The many pieces of locally crafted art captivated me then and have left me longing for a specific piece of art that I saw at this shop — hand crafted bowls and places with the water meter symbol.
It was a beautiful shop with great items then and it still is now. During a recent trip back down to this area I had it on my agenda to find this shop and buy these bowls I’d been searching for. Thankfully I found it! I was able to get my bowls, as well as some other gifts for friends.
It’s a beautiful shop in an amazing space that features unique architecture and both indoor and outdoor selling space. They have jewelry, ceramic work, magnets, bigger pieces of art, and all other sorts of things. It seems predominately locally produced and a unique alternative to the tacky mass produced gift shops you might find. Because they feature real art and not mass produced items, some items are a bit more expensive but they also have tons that is under $ 20. Besides if you’re looking for a unique and quality item to remind you of your trip — Le Jardin is sure to deliver!
Service was good during my visit. I had a dog with me and the sales lady allowed me to bring my pup in. She also very nicely wrapped up my breakables and put them in a nice bag with a handle.

Found some quirky paintings that are perfect for our house. Lady working was incredibly friendly. Unique art finds.

Such a great spot for accessible local art! The do have a few large pieces in the patio out back but for the most part everything is smaller and affordable. Given there are plenty of local galleries on Royal but this one always speaks to me — it’s inviting and has a great mix of style, product, and price point. The patio out back is beautiful and segues into additional gallery space. Do be careful if you’re carrying a bulky bag and don’t want to buy the whole store — it’s very narrow!

Great shop owned by great local artists! The space is absolutely beautiful as is all the local art they sell. Perfect place to shop for local handmade jewelry, art, and gifts.

There must be another entry for Le Jardin, a gem of an art shop in the middle of the French Quarter. What makes Le Jardin unique, besides being an indoor-​outdoor shop, is that practically every piece of art in there is locally created. Beautiful mirrors, jewelry, fence-​post paintings, pottery, and lots of glass art — all local.
I fell in love with a piece by a local guy who made a mixed-​media painting of a woman’s back using an old rusted piece of metal. The prices are reasonable. I paid $ 17 for a pair of drop earrings made of a semiprecious stone on sterling silver. Wander in and support local art!
