Frozen irish coffee with an extra shot. What more could you want in life? I normally hate venturing into the FQ, but my friend insisted that I try a frozen Irish coffee before l moved out of New Orleans. I’m glad he forced me to come here! The bar was surprisingly empty(in a good way) on a Friday night. It was easy to find bar stools and our drinks were ready super quick. The frozen Irish coffee tastes like a coffee milkshake with a hint of alcohol, even with the extra shot. Delicious. I could seriously drink them all day long — potentially dangerous. Bonus points for having Killer Poboys in the back. Highly recommend the pork belly poboy to go along with your irish coffee!

Erin Rose is a must stop in New Orleans for their frozen Irish coffee. It delicious and served up quick. In the back of the is Killer Poboys which is great spot for a non-traditional Poboy. I disliked that the bathroom has no lock. I would rate it four and a half stars.

Divey bar that has THEBEST frozen irish coffee. Only set me back $ 3 during happy hour. Would it be acceptable to have one every morning instead of a regular cup of joe? :) My husband got a STRONG sweet tea cocktail for only $ 5.

My favorite spot in the quarter! I’m hesitant to write a review, as I like that it is never too crowded, but this delightful dive offers my favorite frozen irish coffee. It’s more like an alcoholic milkshake than anything(it does come out of a machine like a daiquiri would), but these little guys can really get your day drunk going for you. The prices are SO reasonable! Po-boys are available(Cash only) in the back around lunchtime.

The 4 of us stopped in on a Friday night to grab these Killer Poboys we’ve heard so much about. I knew before going that this is a dive bar. The bar area is narrow and was packed so we sat in the back and grabbed a Poboy and beer. I had the Gulf shrimp Poboy which was really good but the Meatloaf one was not a hit with the rest of my friends. I think the experience may have been better if we sat at the bar and talked with the bartender but there was just no room at 6pm on a Friday. I wish I would have been able to get a frozen Irish Coffee… I may have stayed!

Erin Rose saves my life every time! After lots of drinking in the quarter, take refuge in Erin Rose. Fuel up on amazing po boys and frozen Irish coffees! They are legit good, not just good for drunk people. Pork belly po boy is my favorite by far, then meatloaf, then shrimp. Bring cash!

It was in the 40s outside, but enough people had told me to come here and try the frozen Irish Coffee that I ignored the open door and cool air long enough to place my order. Fortunately, the inside of Erin Rose was warm and cozy, so it was a comfortable environment after all. This was our second entrance attempt since originally we tried visiting on a weekend night. We made it past the bouncer and then realized that there was hardly any room to stand comfortably, so it was determined that we’d go back in the off hours. Sure enough, that plan worked in our favor and we started our day-drinking ventures here. The drink was thick and it was a bit of a struggle to down the last of it(see Mariella’s review), but I did it! And it was on special. Always a plus. The bartender on duty was nice, the décor was welcoming and there was a dog hanging out on a bar stool nearby. Cute dog. All bars should have dogs on bar stools.

Frozen Irish Coffee… what more could you want from an Irish restaurant in the French Quarter? It also came at a reasonable price from what I remember. Sure there are a few calories that come along with this alcoholic milk shake, but you’ll walk it off with a stroll in the quarter after. Tip: Duck or suck it in before entering the bathroom. Not made for the big and tall crowd.

Quality dive. Got a seat right at the bar, ordered a famous Irish Coffee(delish) and went back to the po boy window and ordered the most delicious sandwiches(meatloaf and a pork belly) and had a nice, relaxing time with some cool people. This is the kind of experience I come to New Orleans to have.

Such a cool little bar right on Conti and Bourbon. The first night in NOLA i walked by Erin Rose and decided to stop in right away for the frozen Irish coffee. I had bookmarked it before arriving and knew I wanted to stop in at one point or another. The Irish coffee is very rich, so if its your first, i suggest sharing. My fiancé drank a quarter of it and let it go to waste. I struggled but ultimately finished mine(it’s so creamy — I do not want to know how many calories it has). Now I can’t decide if the irish coffee was topped with chocolate shavings or coffee grounds but either way I loved the texture. While the walls and ceilings are heavily decorated, overall I found this tiny bar to be clean. They run daily specials earlier in the day(from 10am to 2pm) that include $ 3 mimosas and screwdrivers and $ 3.50 frozen irish coffees among other deals. I absolutely loved, having Erin Rose as an option so close to my hotel. It is on the small side so be patient especially if you are with a group. Obviously it is most congested during the later hours and manageable during the day. I did not try their po boys but they look promising.

This review is based on being in this bar for one minute and thirty seconds. Their frozen Irish coffee is one of the best tasting drinks I’ve ever had in my life. I had one every morning and wish I could still have one every morning. You must get this drink. If you don’t, you don’t deserve to be on bourbon street

I love how old New Orleans is. In a country that’s a baby(relative to so many other first-world countries), being in a place that makes you feel its history is a treat. And, in New Orleans… in the French Quarter… that’s all around. And since this is an old bar in the French Quarter, space is at a premium. As long as you don’t come here in search of spreading your wings and flying away, all should be well. Plus, it’s not like you should need to come here and run all over the damn place. It’s an established FQ bar. Sit down. Order some booze. People watch. Repeat. I came here late at night and after some significant drinking. I’m never one to turn down a night cap, but at the hour there was no need to turn up. That’s when I discovered it: the frozen Irish Coffee. I shouldn’t have been surprised. New Orleans does frozen drinks like none other. Despite having once lived here, this was my first taste of what is a new standard. Creamy, boozy and lusciously-perfect for the last drink of the evening, my coffee warmed me up(despite it being frozen) and tuckered me out(despite it being coffee). Half way through my drink, I noticed that the bar had filled up with sexy patrons. And, for once, I wasn’t talking about the one(s) I saw in the mirror across from the wooden bar. Given it’s proximity to Bourbon Street, I don’t know that I could do a prime time visit to Erin Rose. But, as a late night last stop on a Wednesday… yep. It’ll do just fine. Just don’t sit in my seat.

Our first drink in NOLA! We got the frozen Irish coffee after hearing about it online. It’s not strong but it’s so delicious you will not even care, trust me! The best part: we took it to go and it was so refreshing on a hot day. It has just the right amount of sweetness balanced with coffee and whiskey. Bartender was friendly and service was quick. This is definitely a place I’ll come back to just for this drink next time I’m in town!

Just about the perfect place to bring your out-of-town guests. Who can resist their frozen Irish coffee? Not me, and every person I’ve taken here agrees. The service is also top-notch. Once inside, you almost forget that you’re half a block from Bourbon Street. I kind of like that the tourist crowd seems to stay away. Come for the frozen Irish coffee, and stay for the Killer Poboys shop in the back. I LOVE me some Killer Poboys. I read that they’re opening a restaurant of their own in the quarter and am really stoked for them. They have about 5 or 6 Poboys on their list and they are pretty much all to die for. The meatloaf and pork belly are both to die for, and their grilled cheese is a thing of beauty. There is also a vegan option… excuse me? A vegetarian AND vegan option on a menu in NOLA? What a welcome breath of fresh air in the middle of the(not so fresh-airy) quarter.

If you like bars that decorate for Halloween and have an awesome music selection, go here. If you like bars with friendly bartenders and tons of beers to choose from, go here. If you like bars that are off Bourbon but still close enough to the French Quarter, go here. If you like windows that are left open on sunny days so you can sit on the windowsill and drink while people-watching, go here. If you want an authentic po’ boy that is FRIED and not GRILLED with shitty coleslaw thrown on, do not go here. If you want to be served your po’ boy from a friendly cook, do not go here. If you want a po’ boy before noon to go with your tasty adult beverage, do not go here. Go for the drinks, pass on the po’ boys.

I have fallen in love in New Orleans. This bar totally stolen my heart. Had a night of drunken debauchery(not my finest hour), a quick return the following afternoon for their gulf shrimp poboy and a frozen Irish Coffee. Really those two things as my lunch hit the spot! You have no idea. Halloween night I returned. Definitely more low key, loved my interactions with the patrons, the bar staff, coolest bearded bodyguard you’ll ever meet, even if his cousin says otherwise.(I got your back!) I can’t stop thinking about that poboy. Mmm that dang frozen Irish coffee, I really wanted to repeat that brunch. Good music! That’s always a plus. Just so much excellence packed into a really tiny bar. I have to add this funny anecdote. This is my second time to New Orleans. The first time around we came upon this sweet little Irish pub was randomly walking in. This time around I found Erin Rose using my Unilocal app. We walk in and realize that this was one of the bars we hit the last time we were in town which was a pretty cool realization. I’ll have to find the picture of us that we took goofing off in the tiny bathroom. I meant to check the bathroom but I never did get around to it. Still slaying it 6 years later.

Love this little whole in the wall! A little gem steps away from the chaos of Bourbon Street. When I saw(on Unilocal) that there was such a place that served FROZENIRISHCOFFEE I was immediately adding it to my agenda for the day! It was worth every single step to get there and penny it cost(only like $ 7) My husband and I had the shrimp po boy and it was amazing. Had an asian twist to it with the slaw and was not overly greasy. Also, just for fun roll the dice for a $ 2 shot… bartenders love it and have a great time with you!

Maybe it was because the place was packed each time we went, or that my feet stuck to the floor, but I was a little underwhelmed by Erin Rose. There was a cocktail convention in town and this was clearly the gathering spot for many of the industry workers as the place was packed and they were checking ID at the door. Had a beer or two, listened to the jukebox(some amazing tunes) and left. Not much to say other than it’s a dive bar with a strong following.

My boyfriend and I had just arrived in New Orleans and it was late and looked on Unilocal because I really wanted a shrimp po’boy! This place popped up and said they were really good! This place is a def dive bar and looks like a hole in the wall from the outside. You have to pass some stairs and then go all the way past the bar and go through a little room to get to the area to order the po ‘boys. They only have a few to select from and I want to say they only take cash. They have an atm there in case you need some in a pinch. The ladies helping us were really sweet and said it would be a couple minutes because they make them fresh. It smells a little funny so be prepared. We decided to go to the bar and saw they had the frozen irish coffee machines. I had to have one! It was so good! It is more for taste than to get you buzzed but well worth it. They put chopped espresso beans on top! I think that is what it was anyway. We took our po boy to go and ate in the hotel. I regret not getting two! We wanted to go back to that place but didnt make it. Must go back when we make another trip to NOLA!

Who are you people who are under the illusion this is a dive bar? This is not a good or a bad dive bar — it’s a good bar simply a really good one. It hits none of the criterion that would make it a good or a bad dive bar. It’s one of my favs in the city. I love the narrow semi dark interior, with an entertaining level of ceiling neons. Oh and unlike so many other places the AC doesn’t leave me in pain. The place is tiny, the staff is super friendly and the beer is good. The pork Po’boy was sensational.

You can spot this bar while walking down Bourbon Street though it’s not quite on the strip. There’s a bar in the front room and some tables in the back room. Each time I’ve come here I’ve been greeted upon walking in by the bartender(sometimes even by other customers who always seem to be friendly)… Not something I’m quite used to near Bourbon Street. This is a cool dive bar. Lots of stuff on the walls and ceiling look at. Very good prices on drinks especially for the area. Happy hour 10am-2pm. FROZENIRISHCOFFEEIS A MUST. So much a must that it had to be said in caps.(So good I went back two days in a row for one) Get the large and you get a souvenir cup to take home with you. This place has been packed every time I’ve come here but always clean.

I’ve been a bit liberal with five stars lately, but this place struck a chord with me. It’s sort of like a neighborhood bar in the middle of the French Quarter. Even during the middle of Carnival, this place is a relative oasis of calm. Oh, and they have amazing po-boys. I had a pork belly and my brother had a lamb sausage. The pork was tender and had a tangy and slightly sweet sauce and some slaw. Home run. The lamb was spicy and had top-notch tzatziki – not as good as my Yiayia makes, but excellent for a restaurant. Another home run. Their signature drink is a frozen Irish coffee – It’s basically dessert. But it isn’t as cloyingly sweet as, say, a Starbucks frapuccino. Other than that, they have pretty decent prices for beer. They also have a nice penchant for classic rock. Atlantis — Donovan; Eight Miles High – The Byrds; Never Been Any Reason – Head East; all came on while I was in there.(and some Foo Fighters for good measure). Recommend.

Top of the mornin’ to ya! After a brief visit to an overly packed bar with too much loudness, I determined that morning is actually the best time to visit Erin Ross. You are able to grab a seat at the bar and enjoy one of their many breakfast beverage specials. Silly me for scoffing at first at the thought of going to an Irish bar in New Orleans. Where else are you going to enjoy a good Irish Coffee? Not a fan of super cold and creamy, I opted for the hot Irish coffee. It was a mere $ 4. It was so good I could have been tricked into paying double for it. On the Sunday morning, the clientele was calm including a pup named Beignet who was sitting in a bar seat. Talk about hair of the dog! Erin Ross wasn’t my jam for a Saturday evening, but I felt right at home on a Sunday morning.
