This is NOT a daiquiri shop. 2 working daiquiris should not give you the name of a daiquiri shop.

We were the only couple inside the eating area and it was taking forever. A lady came out and asked us something that my fiancé couldn’t understand. When he went up to the counter he noticed they were just now starting to cook the food. When we finally got our food, it was cold. There was 3 pieces of meat inside the tortilla and they were very very tough, so tough it was impossible to eat! Our waitress was very friendly and nice. They charged us $ 2 for a can soda. I should have taken a picture but we got out as fast as we could.

The entrance to this place is marked by the jeep that’s parked on the side of Earhart with half a surfboard sticking out of the back. The motor car monument is just derelict enough that you aren’t sure if it was put there on purpose or if a real life Ken doll had one-too-many daiquiris and just decided to leave the barbie jeep parked on a hill. We almost turned away because the door was locked(even though it said it was open). As it turned out, that was the entrance to the wrong half of the building(which I think becomes a dance club at night?). In case you couldn’t tell, actually getting inside of this place was a bit of an adventure. I was glad we made it — the food was delicious and about as authentic as you can get. I’m not sure if you will need to know much spanish to order but it certainly will help. Flora(the chef) was super friendly and made a mean pupusa. The only thing that could be improved is if the atmosphere was a little better — as it is, you feel like you are eating inside some kind of den from the 80’s. Also, for some reason, when we entered, everyone fled the restaurant and moved into the disco side. This probably doesn’t make much sense, but that is very fitting when you see their architectural layout. Long story short– it’s worth stopping by if you are in the neighborhood(and the sun is still up) but I think I prefer Lupita’s for my Honduran fix. Also — I didn’t see any daquiri pumps. Maybe they come out when the music starts?
