Pizza was great!!! Drinks were reasonable even though Bourbon street is just a short walk from here. We liked that part though, away from the crowd especially at the opening weekend of Mardi Gras. Our mistake was saying that we had purchased a Groupon. The mood of the staff changed quickly. No guidance whatsoever as to what pizza toppings or drinks were included, very vague on Groupon. Then when we asked, you could tell they hated dealing with it. The bartender conveniently forgot how to make a Long Island Ice Tea and a Hurricane, which is a signature local drink, despite the fact she stated, «I’ve got hundreds of liquor behind me, I can make whatever.» We settled for beers and a basic mixed drink, which had the alcohol content of a wine cooler. When my wife ordered our pizzas, it was the same attitude. Against my better judgement I bought two more beers, finished our delicious pizza and we shagged ass. The pizza was great which says a lot considering all the other amazing places to eat in the French Quarter. Too bad the rest of the experience wasn’t. I get it… we’re not locals but we were paying customers, better yet, pre-paid customers. That’s money in the bank! If you don’t like dealing with Groupon, don’t list… Guess that’s why they’re not on there anymore. Just sucks that the experience could have been better.

Bought the Groupon, pizza was excellent considering it’s made in a local dive bar. Atmosphere was people yelling, laughing, and drinking. Service was rather slow, but the servers where all incredibly friendly. The food and bar systems being separate was strange but quirky I guess with the pool room in the back. A lot of things going right. Way above average compared to the Bourbon nonsense.

Pretty cool place. The puppies running around are the sweetest ever. I’ll be frequenting this joint more often, for sure.

We came here after a small stroll through the quarter. I’m glad we decided to try this place out. We were greeted by the two regulars running amok inside of the bar. Two of the greatest dogs that I’ve ever met. Happy for any attention and ok if you didn’t want to play. The bartender was super nice, and had complete control over the dogs at all times. We shared a few drinks and dog stories. The place had all doors open on a beautiful day. The kitchen fare came out looking delightful, but we had just eaten. They have drink specials, and cold beers on tap. The staff was certainly friendly and accommodating. A great place to have a few drinks and unwind. I felt comfortable there with staff and patrons alike. Definitely a place i would like to hang out a drink for a few hours.

Great local bar. Came in here on a Saturday night. Place was packed but never waited more than a few minutes for food or drinks orders. Great bartenders. Cozy spot. Worth visiting and possibly making it your neighborhood watering hole.

I popped into Cosimo’s to meet a friend and only spent about twenty minutes in thee, but I would definitely return. Nice bar space and a friendly bartender who make me one of their famous bloody Mary’s. It was very good, but not the best I’ve had in town. I also ordered some cheese fries which were delicious. Lots of locals chilling and a few people with their puppies made for a nice casual hang out space.

Old, yes. Cool, Mos’ Def! They are dog-friendly, have an awesome Taco Tuesday, and have steel-tip darts. The best part… while you are IN the Quarter, you are NOT a tourist.

After hearing all kinds of raves about Cosimo’s, I figured it was time to check it out. This is a nice little neighborhood bar that is far away from the hustle and bustle of the quarter. It’s a friendly place where everyone seems to know everyone. We didn’t stay a really long time, but I was able to try a bloody Mary and it was just as good as Joi had described. I like that it’s a little darker here. I have an appreciation for darker, cozier bars.

Friendly neighbourhood bar in the French Quarter somewhat away from the madness. Good beer selection and friendly bar people. Every day there is a different special dish of the day — usually something creole or cajun. When crawfish are in season and the weather cooperates there is a big boil going on once a week.

Atmosphere was very cozy and comfortable. Super friendly bartender named Ashley. Created just enough convo with us to make us feel comfortable. Dog friendly! Pizza was just okay. Nice experience, will return with our pooch.

I really loved our bartender. She was ridiculous and a lot of fun. I think her name was Brooke. Everyone that came in acted like they knew her and maybe they did. Which could be why she was so entertaining. It was busy but relatively quiet and calm which I really liked. The crowd was pretty young but not crazy like the Bourbon street crowd. We got Jameson and ginger. Nothing special, but tasted great. I had already eaten, but all the food I saw coming out looked so good, I wish I would have saved some of my appetite. They also have an old arcade game.

Want to Hide in Plain Sight ~ Cosimo’s is your joint. Cosimo’s has been around for many years and yet it remains totally unaffected by the tourist crowd. Yes, I know our city makes money from tourism and we love them and want them to keep coming back. But sometimes you want that hide-a-way. That cozy spot were the folks already know what it means to miss New Orleans.(and how to pronounce it too!). I’ve been a patron of Cosimos so long that all I can say is stop by when you’re in the hood. Great neighborhood bar, quaint, fun place to hang awhile(afternoon or late night) and the perfect stop between the heart of the Quarter and the Marigny to refill your refreshments. Just don’t tell those Bourbon Street revelers… we’ll see them after we finish this drink and head over that-a-way.

This is cool bar that seems to attract a dedicated cadre of locals and here you can usually escape the tourist hordes of the quarter. They make a mean burger with some good onion rings and ok fries. The burger is on the larger side and has some juicy deliciousness but sadly I’ve yet to have an opportunity to try their pizza. They also feature some changing specials I’ve also neglected to sample thus far as I’m usually opting for the burger. This is a dog friendly bar as it is right next to the dog park and so it attracts lots of dog lovers. The service is friendly and attentive along with often being entertaining. The prices are generally affordable and not the typical tourist rip off many places in the quarter have degraded into. FYI: This is yet another of the bars that claims the notoriety of having had Lee Harvey Oswald as a frequent customer.

I really liked this bar. Cool atmosphere. Blend of classy and divey. Hard to explain but cool. One room with the bar and bar seating and then another room with the pool table and 2 big couches. Cool place for sure.

Best. Bloody. Marys. In town! These may be fightin’ words, I do realize that. But you can trust me on this because Bloodies are my thing and this past Sunday I was on a pre-Barkus mission to find a good one. It was odd because as we walked from home(in the Marigny), we passed by many a bar where we could have found a better than decent Bloody Mary(this is New Orleans, after all, and I will say I’ve never had a Bloody in another city that came close to what you can get here). So, yes. We walked. Considered options. Kept walking and it was like some force just brought us to land at Cosimo’s where just about everyone in the bar was throwing back the Marys. «She makes them the best,» I was told. Say no more, the order was placed and lo and behold the perfect Bloody Mary in my hand. What makes one perfect? It’s not the bells and whistles(ie, elaborate garnish that makes like a meal), it’s the balance of acid/spice/salt and this bartender, bless her, achieved just that. «How are the Bloody Marys?» she asked after we took a couple sips. «Perfect,» I replied, beaming. «Great! I’m trying to get the word out that I make the best Bloody Marys in town…» to which I assured her, «Oh, you can count on me getting the word out for sure.» To all my Unilocal friends.

Seems like a really cool spot as I noticed its on of those places that can be like a Cheers type of joint. Everyone seemed to know each other so I’m sure its a place where the locals go to stay away from ridiculous tourists like myself… lol Bartenders and staff were really nice as they offered me some complimentary pizza which came in handy because I was drunk and hungry. This place is located almost on the edge of the Quarter. Nice R&B music was playing so I was definitely enjoying the music vibe here. Cool spot to hit up if you wanna get away from all the tourists in the Quarter.

Another favorite neighborhood bar hidden in plain sight at the edge of the French Quarter. When I am in the area I love to stop in for an adult beverage and some conversation. It is a bar that isn’t too loud and that lends nicely to the art of conversation. It is cozy without being too cramped. There is usually some fun people watching to be had as well. I especially love the little tiny chandeliers that hang over the bar. 100. the end.

This is a bar with a lot of locals and their pets. I walked in and was greeted by a dog sitting at the bar. He was cute, so I took a picture. I just couldn’t believe it… this is one of the reasons why I love New Orleans! Even the dogs pose for pictures. Anyway, we ordered drinks and eventually food. We watched Scandal while shooting pool in the back. The drinks were strong, and the food was hot(although nothing gourmet). What more could I ask for? Bar hopping in NOLA 4 Stars!
