Amazing. The chicken app was to die for and my entire group shared their meals because they were all incredible.

My wife and I did the 5-course tasting menu during our trip to New Orleans. It’s officially 5 courses, but ours also included a pre-course and fresh ciabatta before the meal, palate cleanser between the 4th and 5th course(hot chocolate) and blondies with the check. I’m not sure how frequently the tasting menu changes, but we tasted 3 types of seafood(cobia, shrimp, and trout) and one of the most delicious lamb courses I’ve had(a lamb lollipop with lamb sausage). The dessert course was ice cream and fruit and the least interesting of the bunch. It looked like another table that did the tasting menu got rice pudding and I wish I’d gotten that. Service was absolutely great. The entire meal was flawless, from the food delivery to the wine pairings. Coquette seems to have the tasting menu down to a science. It ran like a well oiled machine. For 2 people, between the tasting menu, wine pairing, tax and tip, you’re looking at about $ 275. Not something I could do all the time, but for a rare occasion it’s worth it.

One of my favorite places in New Orleans. My husband and I have visited twice, doing the tasting menu both times. They offer a 5 course tasting menu for $ 70, and offer an optional wine pairing. Both visits, we had an excellent experience, with fantastic food and great service. On our most recent visit, we even received 2 additional courses, a large shared appetizer plate of roasted vegetables, and an additional dessert course, a unique dish that was a play on «ants on a log,» both of which were fantastic. The 5 courses from the tasting menu seem to have been derived from their a la carte menu — with courses of crudite, risotto, speckled trout, poulet rouge, and a coconut panna cotta Each course was fantastic, and served with impeccable timing. We did not do the wine tasting during our most recent visit, but did on our initial visit, which we really enjoyed at that time as well. This place is amazing — and will always be one of my top recommendations for restaurants in New Orleans. The food is definitely not classic New Orleans cuisine, more contemporary in style, but impressive in presentation and creativity while not compromising great flavor.

Wow. I am so glad that I did not make reservations at another well-known brunch place down the street. It is because of this oversight that we ended up at Coquette. I am so glad we ended up here. This was my most favorite meal during our trip! My husband and I both decided to order the 3-course brunch. For the first course, I ordered the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo. This was the best gumbo I’ve had in NOLA. I’m sure there are several varieties and each person has their own style/preference but this one… I just loved. Smoky. Savory. Full of flavor. A bread slice added in, soaked with gumbo broth. Super delicious. I enjoyed every spoonful. My husband ordered the Crab Risotto with shiitake mushrooms. This was very delicious, not too crab/fishy tasting, savory, creamy, loved the mushrooms. For the 2nd course, we both ordered the pork cheek. We tend to order something different so as to try more things on the menu. But this time, we just couldn’t. Let’s just say, I’m glad we ordered our own! The pork cheek was tender, juicy and flavorful. Sweet and savory with the pepper jelly. A small kick from the jelly, then sweetness. Mustard seeds gave a nice tang. All on top of a soft biscuit. Absolutely delicious. For the 3rd(and final course), I ordered the granola parfait. Light and airy crème fraîche. A hint of sweet honey. Light citrus. It was the perfect amount of food for my last course. My husband ordered what he called a deconstructed oreo. It was good but a bit too chocolately for our liking. The service was great. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable of the food on our plates. I was very pleased that he was able to answer our questions about the mysterious herbs on my husband’s crab risotto, and the seeds on our pork cheek course. There was somewhat of a wait between the courses but I didn’t mind, seeing as the extra time helped me digest my food for the next course. Coffee and water were refilled often, our bread basket was always full. We had a nice window table, which was lovely, and the décor is beautiful… classic and chic. Again, I am so glad we stumbled upon a 5-star place!

My 2 friends and I did the 5 course blind tasting with a wine pairing, and it was fantastic. The wines complimented the dishes perfectly, and the service was excellent. I definitely want to go back and try both the lunch and brunch options.

Was brought here by a good friend who lives in the area. After I spent 48 hours«eating New Orleans» this was the perfect end to it all. I had tried all the tourist spots, famous locations, and«must eat» foods of the city… Many the classics. Finishing my journey in this spot, serving what New Orleans food can and should be, was fantastic. A Madeira flight and an oyster stew were what I ordered. The flight came quickly from Cat, who took excellent care of My friend and I and explained the wines well. Although I felt awful ordering food so close to close, and knew that a half assed hack job is what I deserved, The stew I got was fantastic and sexy. The fried greens garnish paired nicely and was unpretentious. Thanks to the kitchen team for a great meal, and to Cat for the great service. It was the best part of my trip, and next time I’m in town I won’t forget to buy shots for the team.

The meal at Coquette was exceptional. Prices are a little high, but you are paying for high quality food which is worth every penny. The Waygu Sirloin was awesome.

We were called by the many exemplary reviews from Unilocal,Frommer’s, Trip Advisor and others. So happy we heeded the call‼ We decided on the Chef’s Surprise and were treated to multiple delectable and unexpected delights. Alex, our server, was fantastic, and the evening was a 12 on a 10 point scale!

This is one of my fav restaurants in New Orleans. I’ve been here twice, the first time for lunch and this last time for dinner. Great experience both times! Easy to find on the corner of Magazine and Washington. Got here for an early dinner after walking around in the Garden District most of the day. Started off with a Pimm;s Champagne Cocktail, which was delicious… I had two. Pimm’s Cup is once of my fav summer cocktails, and I love Champagne, so I knew it would be good, and it did not disappoint. We started off with the Hot Chicken, Whipped Honey and Cucumber Pickles app. OMG… it was so so good! How in the hell do you get the honey to a whipped consistency? Not sure how that was made, but it was delicious. The chicken had a bite, and was perfectly seasoned. I would HIGHLY recommend this dish if it’s on the menu(which I think changes frequently). And it’s certainly big enough to be an entrée — my friend and I couldn’t finish it. For my entrée, I got the Pork Cheek with Cabbage, Mirliton(totally forgot what that was) and Creole Mustard. Again, so delicious. The pork was so tender it literally melted in my mouth, and I loved the way it was served on the slices of cabbage. Perfect dish, would not have changed a thing. We ended with mint ice cream served on a bed of marshmallow fluff and chocolate pieces. Again, ate every bite. YUM. Service was great — very friendly and not rushed at all. And the décor is really beautiful. The restaurant is housed in a building from the 1880’s, and it has a beautiful wooden bar that seats about 15 people. I like that the space is not that big, it’s more intimate. It’s such a great atmosphere — beautiful large chandeliers and a tin ceiling. Love it, very New Orleans I know it’s hard to choose with so many wonderful restaurants in this incredible city. But do yourself a favor, and eat here. I promise you will not be disappointed. Thank you Coquette for a wonderful dining experience! Can’t wait to come back!

For a place who’s name means«little coq» to me, Coquette sure is ballsy with their flavors! Coquette is conveniently located on Magazine street and Washington Ave in New Orleans, and is a great place for a nice modern, yet southern style meal and scintillating cocktail after perusing the local shops on magazine. The hostess welcomes you into the building with a charming smile, and you can be seated by the bar or at a table. They do take reservations so I recommend getting one if you can, otherwise just show up, because usually they can finagle a table for a small party or you can sit at the bar. The menu changes a lot, but that’s because Coquette chooses to serve locally sourced foods! The dinners, brunches, and lunches come from a prix fix menu, each taking you on a surprising journey each time you try them out. It’s nice because each time you go, you always have to try something new! I went there to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday, and Coquette was able to make the experience special for him by serving dessert with candles and saying happy birthday when they served it to him. He loved it, and I love them for that!

If I could give this place ten stars, I would. My friend promised this is the sort of place where a meal changes your life so I had high hopes and all of those hopes were met. Coquette is located in a charming 19th century building set in a corner of Magazine street. We had a reservation but arrived a bit early so we visited the bar. First, the cocktail bar at Coquette is serviced by true mixologists. Everything is fresh, there are no kool-aid mixes, and the offerings are unique. I got a Dionysus Fizz which sounded great except for the«egg». I was like what is up with the egg? Well let’s find out. Turns out drinkable«egg cream» is like the meringue fluff from a meringue pie but in a drinkable frothy form. Out of all the cocktails I had in New Orleans that weekend, the Dionysus Fizz is hands down my favorite but the Brandy Crustas I had at Tujague’s was a close second. The menu at Coquette is so gourmet, I’ll be honest, I didn’t know what half of these things were. I’m sure everything is amazing but I just wasn’t educated enough to know what I’d like best. Also, they do small plates and large plates and… well it was just too overwhelming. My dining partner said, «We could just do the chef’s pick and you put yourself in the chef’s hands for whatever.» We decided that was the best solution. To paraphrase that old knight from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, we chose wisely. We were asked if we had any allergies or if there was any particular food item we hated, but we had no such stifling requirements. My descriptions won’t do the food justice. Each course was special, unique, and delectable. I loved every single thing they put in front of me. I felt like I was royalty sitting upstairs under the crystal chandeliers and looking out through the large windows as twilight overtook the neighborhood. It has been six weeks since I ate there, so I’m sorry I can’t remember all the courses. There was a cocoa seared pork neck(pork brisket if you will) with seared apples and collard greens that was remarkable. There was a snack of a crawfish ball with remoulade sauce. There was a fish course with fancy root vegetables under the poached fish that had a lime and celery foam over it. There was a course with gulf shrimp and fancy accoutrements. Dessert course was a rice pudding studded with poached fruits in various liquors that shone like red and purple gemstones. The whole experience was superb. So here’s my advice: Make a reservation. Plan a 100 bucks a person. Get a cocktail. Place yourself in the chef’s hands. Get a different cocktail. Spend a leisurely evening of a couple hours of high end gastronomic exploration. Note: if you’re a vegetarian, you can probably still do a «put yourself in the chef’s hands» if you call ahead and give them at least a day’s notice.

Coquette is oustanding. On a recent trip to New Orleans, we mad sure to get a reservation here. They’ll start you off with some unbelievably good home made bread. It. Is. So. Good. I think we ate three baskets of it. It was that good. I found the cocktails to be well mixed and creative. Our group decided to just order and split one of everything on the menu. I can honestly say that each dish that we had was fantastic. I am a little bit late in posting this review, so none of the menu items we had are available on the menu now because it changes daily and they use seasonal ingredients. However, if I went back to Coquette(which I definitely will on my next trip to nola) I would do the same thing. On top of an exceptional meal, our servers were fantastic. They were attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and made our experience great.

Yum! For our three day trip to NOLA, my friend and I made all of our meal reservations ahead of time. Coquette was our second dinner of the trip and we were rather excited because it looked so beautiful in photos. We were not disappointed when we walked into the quaint and cozy space. We were led upstairs to our table, which was in a quieter, more intimate space that still felt nice and casual. The food was outstanding. We’d made the mistake of stuffing ourselves rather gluttonously at jazz brunch earlier in the day so our stomachs weren’t exactly rumbling. However, we did order three small plates from the appetizer list and were quite satisfied. We had a snapper ceviche with jalapeño, a ricotta gnocchi, and a beef carpaccio with pickled cabbage. Everything was delicious; the ricotta gnocchi in particular was a favorite. It was served with piles of wild mushrooms and a generous dusting of parmesan cheese(and it’s definitely something I’m going to attempt to recreate at home). The service was really great; our waitress was friendly and accommodating and warned us that the amount of food we ordered might not be enough(but that was actually a great sign that we ordered well because we didn’t want to risk overeating and making ourselves sick).

Back again to Coquette for brunch. It is a good thing I don’t live in New Orleans or you would find me here EVERY weekend! Their food is spectacular. Their drinks are good but are outrageously expensive. $ 17 for an old fashioned! I don’t even pay that in Chicago. The service is also very good too. I had the shrimp to start, wahoo as my main and an ice cream sandwich for desert. The shrimp was out of this world! Grilled to perfection and with flavors that exploded in my mouth. The wahoo was cooked very well but didn’t have as much flavor as I was hoping. The dessert was stellar! German chocolate ice cream sandwich, yes please! My sister had the fried chicken and her husband had the gazpacho-delicious, something with eggs and the cheesecake. The cheesecake was also divine and had a very light texture to it. Another great part about Coquette is their bread-I could eat a whole loaf!

My fellow Unilocalers did not let me down. This placed lived up to the cumulative 5 star Unilocal rating. Food, service and ambiance all were top notch. Coquette was firing on all cylinders tonight. Here’s the breakdown. Food: Fried chicken — delicious. Highly recommended. Crispy battery with choice pieces of chicken. Served with house ranch a peach hot sauce. Excellent. Maybe our best order of the night. Crab meat — served with roasted eggplant, browned butter and basil. The roasted eggplant was an incredible addition to the dish. Shari V actually picked all the eggplant out without even taking bites of the crab. This is saying something given how much she enjoys lump crabmeat. Vegetable salad — nice mix of fresh vegetables. I forgot the dressing. Of our orders, this was the weakest. Probably ranked a 3 out 5. Red snapper — our entrée served over couscous, figs and pearl onions. Our fish was cooked to perfection and well-seasoned. Nicely seared and savory crust with a flaky inside. For dessert, we split a brownie sundae. It was chocolate decadence. After we ordered, our waiter confessed it was easily his favorite dessert. In retrospect, I believe him. For chocolate lovers like myself, it was awesome. So our server was Eric. Nice guy with a lot of hair. He was prompt, polite and informative when prompted. He was attentive without being intrusive. Excellent service all around. Ambiance was cozy and classy. Downstairs, they have about 9 – 10 tables with a full bar. It’s a place that would be nice for a date or a couples dinner. The place doesn’t have too much background noise, so it’s easy to converse. Overall, I give Coquette the full 5 star review. I’ll definitely repeat.

So this restaurant is more like a 3.5 On our food tour of NOLA is was the least memorable. Service was average at best. It took them about 20 minutes to take our order in a somewhat empty restaurant. While the dishes were ok, nothing really stood out. The pork chops and duck were solid. The fried chicken was not bad. But the rest of the meal was kinds of bland. The short ribs were thin and coming from Hawaii, looked the kind you can get from a low end Korean Restaurant. The red snapper was cooked well but didn’t have any flavor that popped and wasn’t very exciting. Overall the restaurant was not bad, but didn’t have the«wow» factor.

We had the loveliest brunch here, and everything but the weather was perfect! We arrived around 10:30AM on a Sunday and were promptly seated in the downstairs dining area. The whole staff was kind and attentive, and the meal was paced very well. The three course brunch is obviously the way to go. The Bloody Mary is terrific, and the rest of the drinks menu seems thoughtful and creative. The bread that they gave us was fresh and hot, with warm, creamy butter on the side. We ended up each getting different things from the menu: Starters: Beef Tartare — made with eye of round, with a blackberry sauce, roasted corn, and cheddar — this was terrific, and as a twist on the traditional French style, this tartare was in small cubes and composed loosely with the corn; great fresh flavor Charred Octopus — made with a brandade sauce, roasted garlic, paprika, and tiny pieces of mint — the octopus was cut into rounds and had a wonderful roasted flavor, and it was well-accompanied by the sauce. We really liked this! Entrees: Shrimp with Anson Mills grits, bacon, a tomato sauce, and poached egg — another stylistic twist on shrimp and grits, this dish was obviously not made for those who keep Kosher but was soooo delicious with creamy grits, crunchy lardons of bacon, a luscious tomato sauce, and gooey poached egg; everything came together really well Steak Tartine made with hangar steak, poached egg, and dijon aioli with some dressed greens on the side — the tartines I make at home are never this rich and meaty, and the meat was well seasoned, medium rare, and delicious with its sauce and egg; you’ll need to eat this with a fork and knife! Desserts: Blueberry Buckle with Thyme Ice Cream — this tasted like summer! the ice cream was delicious but the buckle was a tiny bit dry for me Butterscotch Pudding with Bourbon Chantilly Cream and a Bacon Blondie — this seems like it would work really well as an ice cream, and all the flavors, from the savory to sweet, went together really well; this felt pretty decadent even though the portion is fairly small Basically, almost everything we ate was a 5 star dish, and I’d love to come back here for another meal!

This restaurant may be my favorite restaurant ever. I’ve only been twice but both times it blew my mind. It’s on magazine street which is a fun street. And the décor is very classically wooden in the best way possible. Both times I came here I got fried chicken and both times I was impressed. The chicken is cooked to perfect tenderness and always comes with wonderful sides based on the season. Yesterday there were summer vegetables and potatoes to accompany. The cocktails here are equally amazing and the bartenders craft them themselves. Mine was called the Baharon and I had four because I remembered it from last time and it’s addictive — the perfect combo of fruitiness and chocolate bitters. Definitely come here on a date or any special event. It won’t disappoint you.

Nice place on Magazine Street. There’s limited outdoor seating and it’s bigger than it looked as there’s an upstairs too. It had a set 3 course lunch only this day. I would have liked the option of having less food. The homemade bread and butter was great. The starters(corn soup and octopus) was fab and main(steak sandwich and prawn and grits) was fantastic. I wasn’t keen on either desert(blueberry jam covered cake with ice cream and butter scotch pudding) but he thought it was fab.
