Really enjoyed my salmon burger(for the second time this week). Great service, very attentive staff. Dining alone not so bad in this city!

Visiting NOLA over the thanksgiving holiday and stayed at the JW Marriott on canal at. We made reservations at the CSG as we knew many restaurants booked early or were closed for thanksgiving day. They had a three course special Menu for thanksgiving. My wife daughter and I all had the turkey w stuffing main course with my wife and I sharing the crawfish bisque and the fried oysters(my daughter opted for side salad). We also ordered the boudin which was the chefs special take on this NO favorite. The oysters were nothing to write home about and having recently been to Apalachicola Fl and feasting on oysters I was disappointed in their preparation. Crawfish bisque however was very good. Boudin was also very tasty. Main course was abundant and well prepared with a great stuffing and sides and juicy slices of turkey. Dessert was a pumpkin cheesecake tart with ice cream. Although we asked for the cinnamon ice cream instead of the vanilla they brought out vanilla and insisted it was cinnamon. Since all but the boudin were part of the special menu I don’t feel this is any indication of their menu as a whole. Very disappointed in the pace of service. Felt very rushed and the place wasn’t even close to being busy. Brought out main course while we were still eating the appetizers. Cleared my plate as my fork was literally in my mouth with food and then placed dessert down with the other hand. Maybe due to the holiday they had a smaller more junior staff but still not an excuse.

2⁄5 boo-linary i don’t get how a hotel restaurant can be so underwhelming. the place was empty, that should have been the sign to turn around. but we were already there. it started with some cornbread, which was exciting, only they were dry and cold, almost like they were leftover from a breakfast buffet or something. i went with the soup which was lukewarm, again seemed like things were just being reheated. my fish was nicely colored and tasted fine, but the rice beneath and the mixed vegetables — same thing: lukewarm and seemed old. i’ve had better, more fresh, and more warm food from our building’s 3rd floor cafeteria. my colleagues ordered the steak — neither of which were medium or rare. cooked through and grey and sad. there was a max of 3 tables through the time we ate, but the entire thing took forever, just seems like there are some kitchen issues overall.

I did not like this place at all. We came here for lunch on a Sunday at 1pm. Our food took forever & there’s no bread or anything while you wait. The restaurant wasn’t even 1⁄3 full. Out of a 9 person group, 2 enjoyed their dishes. The grilled flat iron steak was not good at all. It tasted old and the chimichurri sauce didn’t have much flavor to it. Prices are alright for a hotel restaurant and our waiter was ok(never stopped by after taking our order or after bringing it to check up on us). but I don’t recommend this place.

Very nice, quick service for a very satisfying meal. Food is a little pricey and there are more historic steak houses in the French Qtr for the amount you pay, but if you do your research you can find a great deal on which is why we went here. Located inside JW Marriott, it’s especially convenient if you’re staying here(which we were). We got there around 5:30pm, and we were the only people there, so we sat at the bar. Everything is ala carte, meaning you order your fixings separate, and with our deal we had to order $ 75 worth to get $ 50 off, which isn’t that bad of a deal at all. We got drinks, oysters, soup, a giant ribeye steak that we split, and baked potato. The food was good, we had no complaints, but I think this place caters to the hotel guests more than tourists. The bartender was very helpful giving us ideas of what to do and very knowledgeable. Tastefully decorated and a good place for a drink at least if not a quick meal tastefully prepared.
