This Café Roma location has a great décor and great service! There is plenty of parking since it is in a mall, near Rouses. Based on my table’s order, here what I recommend: * the crab bisque smelled good and the bowl is filling enough to be a meal on its own; * the salads are huge and most entrees also include a small Ceasar salad; * the lobster ravioli is absolutely deliciously and perfectly portioned, so you’re full, but not feeling like an overstuffed teddybear; * the shrimp — uh, I forgot… sorry The atmosphere is really great. Comfortable and well lit, it is not loud and works great to catch up with friends or visit with clients. I can’t wait to return, as having this near the Lakefront Arena is a smart move.

Food was good but the rap and«bounce» music from the kitchen clashed with music in the dining room.

The first thing you notice is that Café Roma is a little out of place. It’s tucked away in a shopping center in a slightly down-at-the-mouth neighborhood. But when you walk up you see the décor is tasteful and comfortable, even chic. The menu has standard Italian fare and sandwiches, but they’ve got a lot of interesting stuff and I suggest not just settling for spaghetti marinara. The pizzas are great, especially any with the Italian sausage. There’s a dish of seared ahi with cannellini and spinach in a balsamic sauce that really hits all kinds of great flavor notes. The seafood is good, too, fresh and not overdone or overwhelmed. Apparently they bake their own bread, too, and are fairly good at it. The freshness of everything was nice as well.
