We’ve become reasonably regular regulars here over the last month or so. It’s close to home, has a happy hour and it’s pretty easy to get a seat outside in the early evening(and with weather like this, long may that last). It’s a pretty chilled place if you want a quiet drink and there’s a decent range of beers but it’s really the outdoor seating that’s the winner for me. They offer food but don’t have a standard menu. Instead, each night the kitchen is rotated between different chefs, pop-up style which is pretty cool. Credit cards accepted.

A tucked away narrow space with a great selection of German beer, several of which my German ex pat friend had never had. Bartender was cool and helpful. He steered me to a black lager that was new to me and quite tasty.

Went here for the stickball NOLA pop up they were hosting on Tuesday. Reasonably priced drinks and the bartender was very friendly. They have a huge selection of beers and a boot to drink out of if you’re into that sort of thing. It’s a German themed bar as well. They had the Pelicans game on which I liked. As for stickball they were amazing. We had the lasagna stuffed meatball, Mac and cheese stuffed ball and meatball cupcake. None of them disappointed, all the meatballs were tender and decently seasoned. I’m going to keep my eye on this pop up

Where to start? This is place is an absolute gem. My friends and I were in town over Labor Day weekend for Southern Decadence and we decided that we wanted to dedicate a full day to exploring the Garden District. This place was our first stop in the neighborhood and what we thought would be a stop for a drink turned into what felt like a full afternoon. They have an awesome selection of German beer that’s VERY reasonably priced. Weihenstephaner hefeweizen was on tap for about half of what I pay at a beer garden here in D.C.(ok, ok – maybe this is just an indictment of crazy D.C. prices than anything else). In addition to their relatively small but high-quality selection of draft beers, they also had plenty of bottles, including the Weihenstephaner Vitus, which can be hard to find. The atmosphere is also incredibly pleasant. Despite the name, it’s not really a beer garden per se, but more like a corner bar with ample outdoor seating. We stayed inside while all the doors were open on the gorgeous, late-summer Saturday afternoon that we were there. Above the bar, one of the TVs was playing college football while another had some random VH1 reality television show on – the two options were perfect for our group. The bartender was super friendly as were the other patrons that we got a chance to talk to. This was just the perfect place for a lazy Saturday afternoon.

This is not necessarily your typical NOLA bar but Dominic took such great care of us and turned on Jurassic Park. We love Jurassic Park and never had the opportunity to watch it at a bar. AWESOME!!! Dominic was friendly, patient and knowledgable. They have a good selection of beers and a very intimate atmosphere. There do serve some food and word is the other bars next door rely on them for food! We went with whatever beer Dominic recommended and we were very pleased. This place is and intimate with a decent selection of beer and friendly staff. Very pleased.

What a quaint little spot! This comfy corner nook of a bar is one of New Orleans best kept secrets. The bartender with the ferocious hair is the bee’s knees. Pop up kitchens serve some bomb food. The regulars are querky but delightful. Also, the beer selection is quite plentiful.

Really loved this place. It’s small and quirky with an odd layout that’s skinny and wraps around one side of the corner. It’s got indoor and outdoor seating too. This is where you want to go to get a good beer and have a conversation. They have whatever game is playing on the TVs which are turned low enough not to interrupt the quiet music or people talking. I didn’t get food and no one else around me did either, but I could smell it so they have it somewhere. My bartender was nice and chatted with me between drinks and I talked to a few other people at the bar too. It’s small, local, and friendly. Go here for a drink when you don’t want to deal with«bars». If I lived in that area, this would be a local haunt for me for sure.

Stopped here to watch the NBA Finals with some friends. I like the beer selection especially the German dafts and my personal favorite Austria’s Stiegl Raddler. The bartender was new this night so the service started off spotty but he made up for it. Its not a sports bar so music was playing so I couldn’t really hear the game on the big screen behind the bar. The atmosphere is more of one where you hang with friends and talk rather than watch a basketball game so its a poor venue for that but for what it does offer its pretty good.

What a strange/good(?) experience we had here. We were walking around the Garden District and found this place not too far on Unilocal.A Portland, OR native, I was craving some good craft beers, so we decided to check it out. It was really hard to find — we ended up doing a circle and almost giving up/going to two different bars before we found it on the corner. Success! It was a tiny establishment, really just a small bar with a couple benches outside. We got there right as they were opening(no happy hour at 4pm?) and grabbed some beers. Great list of German and local beers. It started raining so we ended up hanging out here for a while to wait out the storm. We discovered the place next door was doing a $ 10 all you can eat crawfish boil so that’s where we got our food for the evening(side note: decent crawfish boil! I believe this was a Friday). The server was friendly but also a little, oh — I don’t know. Maybe just in a mood or annoyed with our girly nature. Who knows. Anyway, this is a tiny place but a fine establishment to wait out rain or grab a great import beer around several other cool looking bars and restaurants. Ps, you can buy a bacon bowl. It’s exactly what it sounds like.

BLUF: Close to several bars so in a good location but small and quaint if you want to have a quiet night with good beers. This is a very small bar with no tables; just the bar. It is a beer garden and it does have a good selection of beers in bottle. The beer list is updated frequently(per the bar tender) but the list should be more descriptive on what each beer is where it is from and what its alcohol content is. Good selection with poor presentation. They don’t have any beers on tap; about 10. That is not very many for a «beer garden». Of those they have on tap, only a couple are special; the rest you can get at most other places. Not very exciting. Bar tender was great. Very nice and knowledgeable. He’ll help you select the right beer for your mood. Good guy. Not many places in nola to get quality beer so this place is definitely a good place to go. I do think they need to put in more care and effort on presenting their beers and think about getting rid of the common draft beers they have. I love the smallness and proximity to various other bars to jump around a little.

This place is Prytania Bar’s cooler, younger brother. At Aline Street you can expect a large selection of beer, mugs & pints of every shape and size, easy access to a food truck(most nights), and… need I say? DASBOOOOT!!! Plus the barkeep, Michael, is a cool, approachable dude. Admittedly, I feel bad touting this place because I don’t want the masses to discover this gem of a bar.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. Just moved to town and I will probably keep this as a regular local haunt. A different pop up restaurant each night of the week — how can you go wrong? As much as I’d like to keep this place a secret, it won’t be for much longer. Excited to hang on the patio when it’s warmer out. For now, I will snuggle inside with some hot spiced wine. Yum!

I was walking around the neighborhood looking for something nice and found this place. Delicious spiced, warm mulled wine for winter! Goes really well with the lamb burger I got from the pop up kitchen, which the bartender says has a solid rotation of chefs and foods. I’m going to come back to try some of the other ones! I like the laid back atmosphere and all the different beers available to try.

After wondering New Orleans on a hunt for St. Arnold, Clayton’s favorite beer, we just so happen to find/almost didn’t find this gem in the city. As beer lovers, we were not disappointed! This place has a great variety of German to Polish to Russian beer! Our bartender was Christian, and he was very knowledgable and friendly! Easy a 5 star place!

Incredible selection of German beers! Bartender was very knowledgable. Jukebox plays fun 80s music. Small, unpretentious, love having it so close to home!

I really loved this bar. Considering that I couldn’t drink when I visited, that is saying quite a lot. Aline Street Beer Garden is a great little German themed pub. While small, there are several large picnic style tables inside, and even more outside. The selection of beer was very good, including some very hard to get German brews. This of course meant those were expensive, but I found prices to be very reasonable. The bartender was a talker, and was more than willing to help my friends pick beers based on other beers they liked. The owner happened to show up and he was very cool. He was very willing to explain their concept, the history and even bought us a round. Involved, dedicated owners seem to be a dying breed, but this guy was great. I really enjoyed my time at the beer garden and can’t wait to go back and actually try the beers.

I just adored this place and I adore it enough to give it 5 stars. They have a huge beer selection here and the bartender, Todd, was really good at helping me find a beer that I would like. The bar itself it small, but I dig that because it makes for a cozy atmosphere. Although it’s small, it’s good for groups because they have 3 «picnic style» tables inside and a bunch of them outside, so don’t be afraid to bring some friends along. Although the beers are imports, and some of them are on the more expensive side, most of them are super well priced and $ 5 or less in many cases. That’s awesome because you can try a bunch of different beers without breaking the bank. Bonus points because they are smoke free and will be serving food soon! I will definitely be back and I can’t wait to tell people about this awesome new addition to the uptown area.

This is a cool little boutique bar with a German beer garden theme. I really like the beer selection here and they have lots of German beers not easily found elsewhere. They give a discount here to Deautches Haus members so that is really awesome. They usually don’t have a big crowd of folks here but they usually have a very friendly group of people here that will certainly make for an enjoyable visit.
