It’s silly of me to review a place I’ve only been once; now I know this, BUT, just wanted to say that I just tried Yogurberry and it’s not in the same class as Pinkberry and Flurt, but seemed similar to all the«2nds» around. For me, first bite very good and yogurty, then too sweet. HOWEVER, I ordered a SMALL, which was GIGANTIC and generous compared to Pinkberry’s MEDIUM, hence I would go again, when just plain desperate for a lot of affordable yogurt(or whatever it’s made of). Pinkberry has got to be kidding with the amount they serve you these days, with the excuse of leaving room for all the toppings you can fit it. Geez. PS. I would’ve prefered given 2 ½ stars, MAYBE even three, but Unilocal doesn’t allow enough options.(!)

When it’s hot outside I must get some yogurt. I was lucky enough to be visiting NY during 85 degree weather and hoped there was a Pinkberry(i heart) near my office. There wasn’t a Pinkberry(sad) and according to my handy dandy Unilocal iPhone App the only yogurt nearby was this 3 star rated YogurBerry. It would have to do… Turns out yogurt isn’t the only thing YogurBerry serves, but you can also get your fill of sushi here as well. I decided against the sushi, but ordered an original yogurt topped with mochi and strawberries. As usual the Unilocalers were right… it was pretty mediocre. However, when I needed my fill of yogurt the next day I found myself back here for some more so guess it did the trick of satisfying my craving.

HAHAHA How can this place have close to 4 stars. It’s absolutely disgusting. I walk inside thinking I’m going to get frozen yogurt, but once you’re inside it stinks like korean food. Imagine Pinkberry with Kimchi toppings right next to the chocolate chips. And I’m not saying korean food always stinks, but it did here. And guess what? The yogurt stinks too. I licked the tip, walked out, and tossed it into the nearest trash can. It kind of tasted like it was made from expired mother’s milk. I felt like such a sucker.

I sampled the lychee(which didn’t have much flavor) and bought a small strawberry with no topping. At approx. 0.61 per ounce, I’m a bit disappointed in the quality of the frozen yogurt. My favorite is still Yogurtland because they have a wider array of flavors and much cheaper at 0.39 per ounce. There are enough seats for 6.

Their plain is not great, but I love that their other flavors(strawberry, peach, and blueberry are my favorite). Not a very expansive topping selection, but they have all the toppings I like. I’ve been to a lot of these asian-inspired-fro-yo places, and they’re all pretty similar, but I like this place because of their alternative flavors. Price is comparable to all the others(but they serve larger portions than pinkberry and are much more generous with toppings!), servers are super friendly, and it’s a very convenient location. They’re also open decently late(10pm). The shop itself is clean and bright. And it’s right next door to Frank’s $ 2 pizza(which is also very delicious). So it’s a great late-night combo on my way home.

Yeah, it’s another one. Another froyo place. And you want to know what? It’s just as good as all the other yogurt places. They have strawberry flavored yogurt. WHOOPEDYDOO! Even I’m getting bored by the froyo craze. They’re all good. For the love of God, when will you stop this froyo war of the DECADES?

If Flurt, Pinkberry and BerryWild wasn’t enough, this area just got itself another froyo franchise. Stopped by here after class and yes, I was attracted by the bright pink awning. The plain yogurt is decent, I still prefer me some BerryWild but they have cool flavors like strawberry and peach. I got a small plain and strawberry swirl at just under $ 4 which totally satisfied my daily froyo fix. And I just want to note that ALL their flavors cost the same even the green tea! And the staff is really friendly and helpful. But they got some stiff competition in the hood. I wish them the best of luck tho.
