This is for the 47th Street location(not sure why it comes under the West Village location) Overpriced for the salad and I have eaten at a lot of places in midtown… I had a larger and more filling salad for less at Chop’t yesterday… I also had to wait an inordinately long time FOR A SALAD… I get that they want to serve people in the order they arrived but there is no way my salad took longer to make than the toasted sandwich for the person just in front of me. The staff were nice but disorganized and falling over each other… Get it together witchcraft — don’t rely on your location, be better than your competitors.

I grabbed a sandwich here the other day. I asked if they can add turkey meat in a grilled cheese and the cashier said yes. But they end up getting me two sandwiches, one grilled cheese and one turkey sandwich. Had to explain to them twice to get the order right and I was still charged $ 20, the price for two sandwiches. :(

Wichcraft sandwiches are delicious and high quality, but pricey. You’ll easily spend $ 12 without trying. This location is on 47th closer to Lexington next to Financier and Oaxaca. There are enough seats for 25 ish, but acoustics in here are very loud when the place is full and traffic control can be bad if the sandwiches are backed up. Its a good emergency lunch eat in, but be prepared to go. Also, doors in winter are super drafty. I like the turkey salad or sandwich, the ham and pear sandwich, chicken salad, and the croissant sandwiches(but honestly, that’s hard not to love!). They also serve pastries and have a 3 – 5 pm coffee and pastry happy hour. I rarely am exuberant about my meal here, as exciting sandwiches are a bit of a rarity. Lines move fast and staff are friendly enough for a midtown lunch rush institution. But they don’t offer many seasonal items and their soups and market sides are always the same. The lack of variety gets boring fast, especially when there are so many food trucks right outside!

I’ve wanted to come here for a really long time, despite the fact that people generally think it’s overrated and overpriced for the tiny portion-size. Finally did thanks to the American Express offer($ 5 credit if you spend $ 20 before January something). We ordered two Panini-like sandwiches, the special of the day(chicken with mozzarella, pesto, red peppers) and the heritage ham with pears. I LOVED the pears, even though I don’t really like ham, and I really enjoyed the chicken sandwich overall, good blend of flavors. Both sandwiches tasted more delicious while still hot, obviously. A little rich and greasy when they cooled down. I’d come back for a sit-down, casual lunch with a friend.

This is an easy place to stop for lunch if you’re crunch for time. All the sandwiches are pretty fresh, but overpriced considering the size/quality. Avoid the soups! The tomato soup tastes like spicy paste with cheese chunks.

This is a nice spot for lunch. Their place is very clean, but small. There isn’t much sitting room but there is a public seating area outside which is perfect for the summertime. I’ve gotten the kids meal here and it’s filling– plus it’s a lot and it’s cheap. This is comparable to the potbelly sandwich shops but id say that these are more premade than allowing you to choose what you want like at potbellys or subway. They do have a large selection of extras like granola and soup– which is more of a panera-bread style(but id say the Half soup and Half salad combo is better at panera– plus bread bowls!). It’s a chain store so there’s not much to really say– just good prices, good food, good place to sit outside.

For so long, I have been trying to figure out how to get a grilled cheese at ‘wichcraft. It seems to me like any sandwich shop should have one on its menu. But ‘wichcraft is «fancy,» so perhaps the grilled cheese has been camouflaged as «manchego and sage butter on grilled country bread.» And so on the rare occasions I order lunch from ‘wichcraft, I order items that could possibly earn me a grilled cheese. Fast forward to the other day when, craving a grilled cheese but not seeing one available, I sadly mumbled«goat cheese»(referring to the goat cheese + avocado sandwich on multigrain) AND I GOT A GRILLEDCHEESESANDWICH! All this time! I could have just asked for a grilled cheese off-menu! So now ‘wichcraft is three stars, A-OK with me.

This is a solid lunch location in midtown east. There are so many places to eat lunch, and I think this place is pretty good. Just a side note, this is actually on 47th not park, and honestly its closer to lexington. Anyway, it gets pretty crowded allowed lunch, but they move people through pretty quickly. It’s mostly just sandwiches, soup and salads. Most of them are between $ 8-$ 10. The sandwiches are really good though, they all have a little something unique. I got the slow roasted pork sandwich with cabbage and jalapeño and thought it was really tasty. The sandwiches come out really quickly, which is very much appreciated. There is seating inside and also some nice patio tables out in front of the restaurant. I’ll probably wander down here occasionally for lunch, I enjoyed it.

I’m a mini fan of their sandwiches. Love the happy hour on coffee. I tried the roasted turkey, zucchini&mozzarella sandwiches, and grilled cheese sandwiches. I really dislike their ciabatta roll. It’s too hard and difficult to eat. Love the grilled country bread! I was so happy the grilled cheese was on that bread. I noticed that the grilled cheese is not on the menu, so I had to ask for it. I was attracted to this place because its by Tom Colicchio who I admire. These sandwiches are definitely innovative but doesn’t taste all that great for the price(well, it is a chain). I ordered an iced latte during happy hour 3−5pm. I didn’t expect them to add foam to it(never had my iced lattes like that!). It was good but definitely not as creamy as I would have liked. As for the environment, it was a cute place. Good amount of seating inside and you can also go outside too. When I went(around 3pm on a weekday), it was pretty empty. They have magazines in the back for you to read.

I’m sorry, but this place has GOT to LAYOFFTHELEMON. I LOVE lemon, but I’ve had two meals here: the chickpea sandwich, and the tuna sandwich. Each tasted like absolutely nothing but LEMON. There were SLICESOFLEMONONMYTUNASANDWICH!!! There were lemon SEEDS in my tuna! I can’t say I want to try my luck a third time and end up eating straight up lemon for lunch again. Also, this isn’t a very vegetarian-friendly joint. Just a warning for my veggie friends :).

Steel-cut oatmeal topped with cinnamon brown sugar and toasted nuts. Not just bits and pieces of who-knows-what kind of nuts, but crunchy whole almonds, pecans, and hazelnuts. On lazy mornings like this one, I like to treat myself to oatmeal and a medium latte(it gets you to the $ 10 delivery minimum!). Delicious! On a side note: It really amazes me how New York delivery guys can deliver coffee without spilling any of it — and it’s still piping hot when it gets to you! You guys are awesome.

There’s nothing that hits the spot like grilled cheese and tomato soup on a wet, windy day like today. I paid $ 9.99 including tax for the soup & sandwich special. It’s a little on the expensive side for lunch but sometimes the sandwich from the corner deli just doesn’t cut it. Plus the ingredients are fresher here! I also recommend their fried egg, bacon, gorgonzola, and frisee breakfast sandwich. Yum! I love breakfast for lunch. I’ve never had a problem with the service. Sure, they’re not always quick but I find that I can eat and make it back to work with time to spare.

It is not everyday one can be convinced to spend $ 11 for a lunch sandwich. But then again, the ‘wichcraft edition of the BLT is not always available either. For the rest of August, sandwich lovers can enjoy a BLT experience that he or she wishes every sandwich shop can provide. The art of sandwich-making is truly on display with this creation. The sandwich is served with fresh greenmarket tomatoes. heritage bacon, and house-made aioli sauce. The aioli is much lighter than mayonnaise but has just enough taste not to mask the ingredients in anyway. The portion of fresh tomato is so generous that they might as well call it tomato steak. The bacon has a lot flavor and adds just enough impact despite being a stingy portion. The ultimate greatness lies in the country bread, which is only toasted on the inside layer to prevent sogginess when making contact with the lettuce and tomato. The sandwich explodes with freshness with every bite without any unnecessary moisture. Once you crunch into the bread, the sandwich evaporates as you chew, and you are only left with a lingering sense of satisfaction. When the experience is over, you come to your senses and ask, «Did that really just happen? I want to try that again.» Oh, what a dream that was!

This is going to be a somewhat specialized review because I didn’t visit the actual place. Instead I’ve ordered from this particular wichcraft off seamlessweb twice. Both times the estimated delivery time was 30 minutes but it ended up taking them an hour and a half to deliver my food. That makes me an angry and cranky customer. I even tried to call the store today to check on it and nobody picked up! How rude. Delivery service aside, I was underwhelmed by the food too. The pork sandwich today just tasted like a little too much salt with some jalapenos thrown in there. And it was kind of dry. Maybe the experience is a little different in person, but I probably won’t order delivery from this wichcraft again.

moderately priced soups and sandwiches with a hint of snobbery? HELLYEAH. I got the grilled cheese(mozz and fontina) and being greedy i got the tomato soup with parmesan cheese. Im kinda mad that while i was writing this amazing ass review Unilocal went down. Its really probably becuase my review was so amazeballs that they froze the network and snatched it up as i was writing it. The grilled cheese was fantabulous. The tomato soup was the best thing I have ever sipped from a to go soup container. I would like it to be my babys daddy…

Between breakfast & lunch, I probably eat here about 5 times a week. At least. I feel obliged to report that it’s not cheap, but crappy midtown delis charge the same $ 8.75 for a sandwich that doesn’t begin to compare with what ‘wichcraft is offering. The sandwiches are made with superb ingredients and each is combined into a perfect ensemble of flavors and textures. BREAKFAST The fried eggs, bacon, gorgonzola, and frisee sandwich on a ciabatta roll is definitely one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. Eggs were perfectly cooked. This sandwich is the only one I’ve had which was served with a gaff: the cook burned the cheese in the salamander and simply served me the sandwich with most most of it scraped off. In a way, not cool, but I was short on time and didn’t mind. The sandwich was delicious nonetheless. For eggs, very expensive at over $ 7. This is my go-to oatmeal place. Steel cut oatmeal(perfectly cooked) with cinnamon brown sugar butter, toasted nuts & dried fruit. If it’s not healthy, please don’t tell me. Greek yogurt with granola & honey is not cheap, but it’s mighty good. 5 oz of Fege, with hearty granola rich with dried fruit and nuts. $ 5 of very quick, delicious, nutritious breakfast. LUNCH I’ve had these: Goat Cheese Marinated white anchovies Pole-caught tuna Chicken salad — those are cold and these are hot: Pastrami Roast turkey Slow-roasted Pork Grilled cheddar And I’ve had the beet salad twice. The anchovy sandwich is the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten and the best $ 8.95 I’ve ever spent on lunch(many times). It’s marinated white anchovies, soft-cooked egg, roasted onion, salsa verde & frisée on country bread. The thing is a glorious, delicious mess. Eat in, while the bread stays crispy. WOW. Second place goes to the slow-roasted pork(with red cabbage, jalapenos & mustard on ciabatta roll). These two sandwiches really deserve a review all their own. Drinks(sodas and mineral water) are expensive but good stuff. I love that for a buck, you can round it all off with a lemon poppy sandwich cookie with seasonal fruit preserves. Or a peanut butter creamwich. Or plenty of other little sugary nibbles.

I’ll be honest. I go to ‘Wichcraft for their grilled cheese sandwiches. Delicious, but expensive — but who else makes good grilled cheese anymore in Midtown for lunch? My guilty pleasures include: — Grilled Gruyère(molten gruyère cheese with caramelized onions… can’t get enough) — Soup + Sandwich special: Tomato soup w Parmesan and a plain grilled cheese sandwich –unfortunately even this comes to a hefty $ 9.47 after tax. Oh — I’ve heard their other sandwiches are great too. But let’s be real, I’ll probably never try them — as long as that grilled cheese is still just so cheesy and so good, ‘Wichcraft gets 4 big stars as far as lunch venues go. Word of warning: Don’t go unless you have ~5 minutes of time to stand around waiting.

Once we found it, all was well with the Cosmo’s. Starved with anticipation for another one of Tom Colicchio’s restaurants, which are are always amazing, I expected no less from his wich shop. We decided to order a couple sandwiches and share. The goat cheese wich is the perfect combo of flavor– avocado, watercress, celery and pesto– Amazing! For the second wich we tried the slow roasted pork, which was delicious! Tom has it down– pairing the perfect combination of breads to the filler selection. I think this location was empty because it’s so hard to find. I can’t imagine working close to a wichcraft and not going every day for lunch! The service was very fast. I was impressed– it didn’t hurt to be in perfect company to boot!
