The chicken sandwich they offer here is downright phenomenal. I find that I am a bit of a contrarian when it comes to chicken sandwiches. Fuku was very disappointing for me, I don’t like Chik-Fli-A and for whatever reason I love myself a McChicken. So needless to say, I didn’t know what to expect when I stopped by here with a couple of my friends. It was beyond great. Easily the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. I’ve only gotten the original chicken sandwich. It was so good to first time I had it, I would have gotten another one right there if it weren’t for a line(which actually moves quite quickly). I think urbanspace as a whole is a really good idea, but maybe that is just because every time I’ve ever gone there was for Delaney Chicken, more specifically their original chicken sandwich. I cannot recommend coming here enough. Can’t speak to the other options, but I have a hard time believing they’re not great as well.

This place serves some great bird! Chicken is huge but still fits on the bun perfectly. Perfectly fried and flaky but not overly greasy. Potato salad was also great! Tastes like mine! More mustardy and no over powering mayo! It’s not cheap. 14.00 for both but I was only able to eat half of the sandwich for lunch(I had no breakfast) and I was stuffed! But I heated it up later and it was still delicious – good sign. they also earn a star just for having Zapp’s chips!

After eating this $ 8 chicken sandwich, Chick-fil-a &KFC simultaneously went out of business. I have also been wearing glasses for the past 16 years and after eating this chicken sandwich I proceeded to promptly discard my glasses in the nearest trashcan because I had 20⁄20 vision again. Reviews say you can easily share this sandwich but why would you? Would you share your wife with another man? Exactly. In short, please try this sandwich. You’re welcome.

I had the original chicken sandwich which was HUGE. 2 juicy pieces of chicken on a roll. Only $ 8. You could easily share. The location is great also and the line moved quick.

I’ve been a big supporter of Dan Delaney since before he was even in Brooklyn(via his BrisketLab experiments), so I was of course excited to try out his take on fried chicken. And it was damn good! I remember when they first opened, there were lots of complaints about wait times and food temperature, but they seem to have solved all of that. $ 8 gets you the Original Chicken Sandwich, and $ 10 gets you the Spicier Chicken Sandwich, which comes with Havarti cheese and spicy mayo. Weird that you can’t do non-spicy with cheese, but whatever. No complaints from me. I love both spicy and cheese. So the sandwich is served on a regular sized bun(no mini buns), and the chicken still peeks out the side. Sure, it’s not a comically oversized as Fuku, but it’s more than enough food for one regular sized person. True to the name, it had a kick to it. Luckily, they also serve Abita beer. Wouldn’t say it’s the best fried chicken sandwich, but it’s definitely in my top 10 in NYC. Then again, I’ve had a LOT of fried chicken…

I liked the chicken sandwich. It was spicy and awesome though it has little shades of chicfila. Usually during lunch, they have a long queue.

Everything was perfect about the Spicier Chicken Sandwich except for their bun: chicken ratio. Chicken: perfectly crispy, moist, delicious. Bun: soft, pillowy, fresh, though I would have preferred mine slightly toasted. The sandwich came with havarti cheese and spicy pickles. Excellent pairing of flavors! Chicken:bun ratio — One of my biggest pet peeves about sandwiches is having leftover bread with no meat. I noticed there was a «gap» before I even took a bite. The remaining bread could have been 2 more bites.

I wasn’t too sure why is this place only have three stars rating. In my opinion, this chicken sandwich place is amazing! I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, talking about over achievement. The ratio of chicken to bun was so perfect. The regular chicken sandwich come with some sort of thousand island like sauce, mayo and pickle. It was so amazing! Service is quick and pretty straight forward. So, don’t expect to come here and be treated like royalty :). It’s a quick service concept and its designed to cater for clientele to enjoy it on the go. I do have to say that there was someone who was hesitated to go above and beyond. Right after, I got my chicken sandwich, I didn’t realize that they don’t have a disposable cutlery. I was asking if they have any plastic knife and they mentioned that they don’t have any. So, I asked the lady if she was willing to help me cut the sandwich in half. At first, she was giving the look, took my sandwich and cut in half. It wasn’t a big deal and I completely understand that they are busy, I just thought that the staff should be a little bit more friendly with the customers. Anyway, I was a happy camper after I ate the chicken sandwich. Simple yet majestic!

Working in the neighborhood, I’ll have to say this is a great lunch spot despite of its limited choices: regular chicken sandwich and spicy chicken sandwich. The spicy chicken sandwich tastes especially amazing because it comes with spicy mayo, jalapeños and havarti cheese. Great tips for any of you who would like to add some extra flavor to your sandwich– remember to pick up some honey packets to put in the sandwich! Overall, a bit pricey(especially the sides which I don’t recommend) but the sandwich is definitely worth a try.

I have yet to try their fried chicken sandwich. but for now i give it a 4.5 star for their fried chicken! $ 8 for 6 huge pieces is really a steal in the city. the pieces are pretty big too. i see that a lot of people do not like the batter but i personally find it to be really good. i like the fact that it’s super crisp while the inside is juicy and tender. only thing i would think could be better is that the batter is lacking a bit of flavor. but with the sauce that comes with it i find that to be okay in my opinion. will def come back again to try their other stuff. i love FC!

While the chicken sandwich is good, it’s not mind blowing like other reviewers suggest. As far as fried chicken goes it was fine, but I’ve had way better in this town ;-). It’s tasty, moist, and the flavors dominated by vinegary«Crystal» hot sauce. The coating, batter I think, had become soggy from all the mayo and hot sauce it had been slathered in. The chicken in my sandwiches was not very big, certainly nothing like the enormous pieces of chicken in some of the pics other reviewers posted(I really had to rearrange the bun in order to make it look appealing in my pics). The potato salad is interesting, highly seasoned with creole/cajun herbs and spices, I enjoyed it but I don’t think it’s for everyone(it hovers on the verge of being overseasoned, if you like traditional potato salad you will not like it). Overall good food, like I said my experience was not a mind blowing food-gasm… it’s a also a bit pricey, but look at the real-estate. 3 for now. ;-) Update — I’ve tried this sandwich 3x and it’s still nothing to write home about. Spent $ 18 for a chicken sandwich(thighs are one of the cheapest parts of the bird besides wings.), potato salad, and a lemonade. I still don’t get what people are raving about. This is just not a 4 or 5 star experience for me.

Have been craving for fried chicken for a while and decided to dump Pio Pio this time; my colleague strongly suggested Delaney so walked here after work to get some dinner. Delaney has a small menu — you either go with chicken sandwich, or chicken wings(serving in half/one dozen). Chicken wings are only available after 4pm. Probably the wings were a bit too greasy for me… didn’t finish my half dozen. Wish they could put less oil but more seasoning. More like a 3.5÷5.

This is a must have in the Vanderbilt Urbanspace. They have amazing fried chicken. Their chicken sandwich is just heavenly — chicken is tender and juicy, skin is crispy and the hot sauce adds a nice kick. Don’t be intimidated by the line. It actually goes by very quickly. I really want to try their fried chicken & waffles, maybe during my next lunch break!

So this is a no-brainer 5 star chicken sandwich… Every sandwich is made to order and is absolutely amazing. You know when you bite into a chicken sandwich from anywhere else and while it’s alright you sit there and daydream of how great it could be? How you wished that first bite would of tasted instead of how it did? Well Delaney’s «inceptions» it’s way into your dreamworld, steals your dream chicken sandwich, and serves it to you. So when you walk into urbanspace and see that line of people waiting for a Delaney’s chicken sandwich just remember that going into dreams to get you your perfect sandwich takes time and is super dangerous… And that it’s 100% worth the wait.

Stopped by Urban Space and was glad to see the place so tame on a Sunday afternoon. None of the vendors had a line, including Delaney’s. A fried chicken sandwich for $ 8? Sure, I’ll bite… literally & figuratively. Chicken Sandwich with Dukes Mayo, Crystal Hot Sauce, Pickles: The flavors of the chicken sandwich are strong. Before I even took a bite, the smell of the tart, vinegar-y, hot sauce punched me in the olfactory senses. Then I actually took a bite and saw the thin, crisp batter surrounding chunks of dark meat. The bun was warm and soft. Arnold Palmer — very sweet Though the sweet & sour flavors of the sandwich are almost too much for me, it is still a great fried chicken sandwich for an affordable price.

Situated in the Vanderbilt food hall in Grand Central Terminal Delaney Chicken adds a great option to the food hall. Proprietor Daniel Delaney has put together a great recipe for fried chicken. They serve two types here a regular fried chicken and a chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich is the stand out here. Fried up perfectly with a moist tender and juicy chicken inside, the chicken is in a potato roll and the added options of honey and hot sauce really make for a great chicken sandwich. Service is good by ordering at the cashier and stepping over to the left to watch your chicken or chicken sandwich prepared through the window and be picked up at the pick up window. Love the old style diner uniforms of the workers as well to match the theme.

Delaney Chicken at Urban Space Vanderbilt serves a mean fried chicken sandwich. At $ 8, it is a delicious, if cholesterol laden lunch, perfect with a side of chips or coleslaw or a tall soda. The sandwich is remarkable mostly for the thin crisp crust of the dark meat chicken — the crust shatters delicately, more like a magical chicken croquet versus the typical thick battered chicken. The bun is pillow soft, dressed with mayo and hot sauce and a few butter pickles. The sandwich has the right mix of savory, crunchy, soft, spicy, and sour. The major con of the location is the long inevitable line. A typical weekday 12:30 pm line would probably take 15 to 20 minutes to order and get the sandwich. The line usually snakes past Hong Kong Street Cart and the Taqueria, but I’ve seen it go even up to Mimi’s hummus. In addition, the wings are not even on the menu until after 4 pm most days. I personally would not wait longer than 10 minutes for this sandwich unless I have a really easy day at work. I did note that somehow you can order a sandwich online — If I try it and its magical, I’ll let you all know. Servers are quick to turn around orders and every sandwich is made fresh. You can watch your order go down the line and eye the man candy as they wrap up your golden fried morsels and bag it for you. Ordering to getting your food is usually less than five minutes, as long as they’re not waiting for a fresh batch of chicken.

Get ready to be wowed by some outrageous batter fried bird. The owner worked to perfect a delicious product and it shows. Brined in salt sugar cayenne and batter dipped in buttermilk the dark skin is not only righteous but the bird is über juicy. After 4PM, half Dozen wings are $ 8 I know fried chicken sandys are hot these days, but for the same price the bird brings it. Sides at $ 5 are reasonable and both the slaw & potato salad are very good. Will be back soon for my fried chicken fix!

Haha yeah the chicken sandwich here is amazing. I mean, I ate at fuku+ literally 48hrs ago and I liked the one here slightly more. And yeah you have to put in some time waiting for your bird, but once it finally comes you will see that it is pretty excellent. Just before being placed into the sandwich the fried chicken is slathered in this spicy vinegary dip that gives it this really unique, tangy flavor. It is also slightly spicier than most chicken sandwiches currently in nyc but not overwhelming. However, the spicy dip also dampens the skin a bit so just be aware of that. But with the pickles, crazy southern mayo, and straight up normcore bun it is a pretty insane sandwich and probably one of the top fried chicken sandwiches in NYC right now. I also found the fried chicken here to be both comically large and quite excellent. I like the shatteringly thin, puffy golden skin as well as the extremely moist meat and ever so slightly spicy taste. I also tried the potato salad, which was really herbaceous and enjoyable. As for all the people giving 1 star because they had to wait 20 mins, guys, welcome to NYC.

KFC? Popeyes? Nahh… you deserve better fried chicken than that. Come to Delaney Chicken, coming from the same family as Daniel Delaney’s BrisketTown. It’s located in the new Urban Space food court at 230 Park Ave, which is essentially a mini-Smorgasburg. It gets really crowded during lunch hours, and crowded is probably an understatement. So naturally, my advice would be to come before or after the lunch rush. Now, concerning the chicken… it’s downright the best fried chicken I’ve had in New York! Perfectly fried, crisky seasoned skin and juicy meat underneath. Everything is seasoned very well, there’s definitely a generous amount of salt, pepper, and paprika. I had the cole slaw as a side, not too creamy or vinegary — a good counterpoint to the fried chicken. My advice, don’t be a chicken and check this place out!
