Should actually be called Vines on 187th… This place isn’t actually on pine st. You guys should be proud of where you’re from. 5 stars for being a wine shop and selling wine which validates the«vines» part of their name but zero stars for false advertising about geographic location for the sake of «witty» word play.

It’s my go to neighborhood place, but often they run out of something I like.

As nice a wine shop as you would find downtown. Solid selection, fair prices, wine tasting events. Great store hours to accommodate residents who work late. One suggestion for improvement would be to break up the staff hangout at the register. Another poster commented on the feeling you are interrupting them when you have a question or want to pay — it’s true. I get they are young and stuck in large quiet library-like wine store, perhaps have music in the store to change the vibe and also mask their chatting.

They have an awesome selection of wines from which to select from. Anyone that has assisted me in the shop has been courteous, knowledgeable and has demonstrated the best in customer service every time. This shop is amazing!

I want to like this place but I just can’t. The selection of red wines is good but there is not a lot of variety of white wine. They also need new staff. Every time I go in there the employees are chatting with friends or on their phones. When I ask a question I’m met with distant stares and unhelpful answers. As a customer I feel simultaneously ignored and disrespected when go in there. I’ll be taking my business to Cabrini Wines on 181st St from now on. There’s more selection, the prices are better, and the employees are infinitely more friendly and helpful.

The team here are the perfect fit of social and knowledgeable fine individuals. I buy there more than 6 times a month and am welcomed by a cohesive team that I know by name and vice versa. Shu. J, sounds like you are the one having a bad day. Please spread your negativity somewhere else. This store is what has brought 187 into the fine Washington Heights standard we enjoy surrounding us now.

This is a nice, local wine shop with a reasonable selection at fair prices and in a clean, well-illuminated setting. They’re open late and on Sundays, which is VERY appreciated. We live around the corner and avail ourselves often :) as does our co-op for holiday parties. Our reservation has to do with the service, which tends to be hot and cold, but unfortunately getting colder. Tonight was perhaps the last straw. I was the only one in the shop, at 9:30pm, looking for a good selection of French whites and reds. Then I start hearing ‘effing this and effing that’ from the young, well-groomed lady behind the counter and ‘yeah, eff that and eff this’ from the young man, yacking full-throated and oblivious while I was trying to decide among the Saint-Juliens and Emilions. Eff this and eff that, progressing to effing feces and effing merde. Eff, eff, eff, merde, merde, merde! Really? It was just revolting. And I could have used some help. Brought my bottles to the counter, not a word or even a look up from the woman, who seemed genuinely irritated that I was interrupting her apparently very important conversation. Her value-added utterance was finally, a flat, «Would you like a receipt.» Shame of it is, the owner(the hippie-ish older guy) is really quite helpful and personable when he’s around. Guess I’ll have to walk the extra blocks to Cabrini Wines on 181st… or buy more when I’m down on 14th at TJs:(

Great boutique kind of liquor store. Most of the staff very knowledgeable. Don’t come here looking for everything, but they have many great wines and more rare spirits.(Not as much cheap stuff)

Great selection of value and higher end wines. We’re boxed wine fans and Vines on Pine carries a few nice ones including VRAC and Pepperwood Grove GreenBox. The liquor, although not a bargain, is pretty comprehensive with a number of options from craft distilleries. The wine and liquor tastings are always great!

Hard to find good wine store in the heights! The staff was super friendly and was not pushy at all. They definitely give you the space you need to select the right wine for you but are always around in the event you need a suggestion with with wine selection or with general pronunciation(My French is not the Best) The store is very well organized and makes everything very accessible without feeling pertinacious. They have wine tastings on weekends!

A good selection of wines, and some other spirits. The store is new and tastefully renovated. The staff is personable and helpful. I don’t drink alcohol anymore, but the store is popular with the locals, who have an upscale palate.
