I just had to try this place because of other reviews and i LOVE Tapas… I wanted to sit in the courtyard in the rear but it was full with a large party. We saw two people leaving from the bar facing the outside which was opened so it was just what we wanted. Yes I ordered several with my partner but first SANGRIA please… I had the CAVA white sangria(sangria with bubbly) and my other half had a regular white sangria which took us back to when we went to Madrid. We had several Tapas first we had the Cod croquettes they were round and crunchy on the outside and full of cod on the inside with sprinkles of two different sauces. We also had the Pulpo y Papas which is Octopus and Potatoes YUM! This dish was lightly sautéed with several delicious herbs. The Pork Belly was also amazing, at this point I’m getting full but I want to try everything. The pork belly had a red/brown sauce with garbanzos with crunchy crusty outer skin parts and soft tender tasty fatty meat it was just a perfect mixture. We ended it al sharing a piece of TIRAMISU. IT was all HEAVEN in my mouth. The service was fast and attentive with extremely friendly people… I MUST come back for the Tortilla and more of the rest.

My little corner of Upstate Manhattan has needed this gem of a joint for quite some time. The food on our hill is widely known to be a little underpar, but Las Tapas has upped the game. They have great specials; lovely bar and waitstaff; and the Arroz con Pollo fed me for three meals! It is also a little cleaner than most of the places in our hood, but maybe that is a because it is relatively new. Long live Las Tapas!

My birthday 2016 celebration continues for the month of May where my journey in life takes me to Washington Heights in the presence of good times with a good friend. I decided on seafood and fish, and of course wine, which he took me to Las Tapas. Las Tapas is a quality Spanish restaurant wine bar that offers an extensive selection of wine and Sangria along with Italian pasta and your typical burgers and wrap sandwiches. Our meal consists of: * Fried Calamari * Spinach & Cheese Empanadas — generous portion * Black Seabass — pan seared swimming in a sea of tomato vinaigrette with Thailand Jasmine rice. I never had Seabass before as I always enjoy Tilapia but with an open mind decided to chart a different course. * Paella Marina — a medley of calamari, mussels, shrimp, clams, peppers, onions and peas in Saffron rice and broth. My favorite was the shrimp and the Saffron rice as I LOVE shrimp. * Two wine glasses: Finca Tempranal Tempranillo, La Mancha, Spain 2013(red) Our server, Taho is warm friendly and attentive ensuring our experience was pleasant in a welcoming hospitality. The takeout menu contain gross spelling errors: safran and vinagrette(correct spelling: Saffron and vinaigrette) which disturbs me as a prolific writer/poet. Facilities are moderately clean and well stock with basic amenities. There is an outdoor patio and on select nights live band performances are held. Décor and ambiance are simple and intimate. Entrée portions are plentiful to eat our fill. Somewhat pricey but worth a single time splurge. Business cards and takeout menu are available upon request.

While Hudson Heights/Washington Heights is not an area of the city I frequent, I came up for a bite and a few drinks with a friend and glad I stumbled across Las Tapas. We came on a Wednesday night, which is their Pasta night.(They have different special nights every night of the week.) On this particular Wednesday, a portion of the evening was overtaken by loud yet beautiful though sometimes obnoxious Flamenco music and dancing in the middle of the dining room. We took our seats at the bar and were greeted quickly by the amazing and awesome bartender Jo, who took great care of us thru the entire evening. We tried the Barcelona Sangria — normally $ 8, on special for $ 5 — as well as the Lamb Meatballs, and the Tuna Tartare($ 11). The lamb meatballs were served in a delicious red sauce along with two slices of italian break to complement. The tuna tartare was a good portion of actual tuna tartare over a generous portion of cut-up avocado, garnished with a soy sauce variation that was super tasty. Not to mention, just two Barcelona Sangrias… definitely got me tipsy. Overall, it was a great evening, and I would definitely come back if I’m in the neighborhood.

A nice neighborhood statue. Went on May 5 after a long day at work. The ambience is cozy and welcoming. Service speed is average, but the staff are very sweet and attentive. The mango Margarita on the Cinco de Mayo menu is on the sweeter side; it was ok, but not quite my type. It’s the first time I’ve been there so decided to try the tapas only. The Yuca Brava is divine. The fried cassava is well done and the dressing is really tasty. The sautéed mushroom is equally delicious. There is live music– not sure because of the holiday or it’s always been like this, but either way, it was an added delight. Will definitely come back.

Thumbs up!!! Waayyy up!!! One of the best places in the area the cocas are to die for and the paella couldn’t get any better, some things have a latin twist so its not 100% spanish but sure is delicious!

Stopped in and ordered a gin martini, extra dry. Bartender: «So you want it with dry vermouth?» Me: «Yes, but just a few drops.» Bartender: «Extra dry means with dry vermouth. People don’t believe me, then they google it.» This is just plan wrong, Might as well tell me the earth is flat. All martinis are made with dry vermouth. A ‘wet martini’ is made with a higher proportion of dry vermouth. Bartender proceeds to shake my martini. Martinis are always, always stirred. And the cost for being corrected by an ignorant bartender and served a poorly made cocktail?$ 12. No thank you, and never again. Oh, and for those actually ordering the food? It’s all from Sysco, being reheated in the kitchen. You’re eating expensive microwave platters. Enjoy!

Food was amazing and quick. Drinks were great. Enjoyed the service. Do note that they only take two credit cards if you are looking to split.

Fantastic way to end a great visit to NYC. The Yucca Fries were perfectly cooked, the goat cheese was tasty and fresh, and the flatbread was fantastic. For my main course I had the Paella for one and it was a huge plate with shrimp, fresh clams, muscles, sausage, and calamari. Incredible. I can’t blame my enthusiasm on being hungry because I wasn’t when I got there but when the food came out I attacked it like I needed it(I didn’t). Definitely a permanent on my favorites list.

The restaurant is good. The food and service were great. The only thing I did not like was that they did not remove the empty plates from the table. In addition, the host was flirting with my husband. She was telling him that he looks amazing, asking him if he was single lol, and I was like thank you for the compliments, he had been married for 6 years now. Hehe.

loved this place. Definitely a great brunch spot! Its +$ 15 for unlimited drinks. You can get mimosas or 4 different types of sangria(Classic Sangria, Spanish Sangria, Cava Sangria or Peach Sangria). The peach was a little too sweet for me, but overall they were all great. Or $ 5/drink without the unlimited special. I’m not a sancocho expert-but I definitely enjoyed theirs! I also had the churrasco sandwich(so yummy!). The meat was flavorful and tender and the bread was soft and delicious. The service was also great! I’ll definitely be back :)

I live near this place and I’ve totally overlooked it. The wine is fabulous and so is the sangria(on the sweeter side) but the food is to die for! Get the tuna tartare. Do it. And try the pizzas. I personally liked the fig and prosciutto pizza but there were a lot of options. It’s a good place to go to talk and it has great ambiance. I definitely should come here more often than I have been!

Literally stumbled upon this lovely little spot on a walk to the park with my mom. I always walk up the stairs on 187 and go right to Fort Tryon, but today for some reason the awning of this place stuck out so we decided to check out the menu. Everything looked good and the prices were reasonable so we headed inside. The hostess and our waiter were both so so sweet. They had a surf competition and basketball playing on separate TVs which I loved. The inside is just very very cozy, not too small. We ordered smoked ham croquettes, Gambas Al Ajillos and the blue cheese ensalada to share. We were so pleasantly surprised at how *delicious* every single plate was. The croquettes were perfectly fried, crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside, the flavor of the smoked ham and the sauce that was drizzled on top was amazing. The blue cheese salad had an olive oil and balsamic reduction sauce dressing with salt, pepper and perfectly ripe tomatoes. I couldn’t get enough. Last but definitely not least, the Gambas Al Ajillos was phenomenal. Seven giant prawns laid in a buttery garlic sauce with bread(order more bread to make sure you eat all of the sauce!). I could have eaten three bowls of it. All in all, wonderful little restaurant I will be returning to with my fiancé :)

Really very pleasantly surprised. It’s a small place but has a very long and ambitious menu, with at least a couple of great choices for even the most finicky eater. We went on a Friday night at prime time and although the place was almost full, it wasn’t particularly loud, which I’d been worried about. No booming music which causes people to have to shout even louder to be heard. Very chill and grown-up. The staff were very attentive, our waiter in particular was always coming around, and he clearly knew his way around the menu as he was able to confidently make recommendations and offer advice — such a refreshing change from the«order-takers» that cheaper less well-run places employ. The cocktails were impeccably prepared and presented, and there was a great wine list with reasonably-priced selections across all groups. I could go on and on about the food, but there were so many different things that were good. Plates were big enough to share, and a lot of care had gone into their presentation, which counts for a lot, to me. Standouts were the grilled salmon which was the best I’ve had anywhere in NYC in the past 20 years, and the«flatbread pizza» which was very creative and something I’ve not seen at a tapas place before. Basically no matter what your tastes, you’ll find a lot to like here. Great ambiance, not especially expensive, and a cool place for people of all ages.

Service: warm, genuine, efficient. Ambiance: mellow(we were there on a Tuesday night around 7:30 and it was not crowded at all). Food: amazing! Highlights were the palma y aguacate, gambas al ajillo, croquetas de bacalao and grilled salmon. Delicious! Woohoo Las Tapas.

Great neighborhood place. Enjoy the garden when the weather is nice. Ben the waiter is is the best! Give him a raise! Try everything on the menu. Some things are good some are GREAT! Go Inwood. Places like this are making the neighborhood a better place. The pork soup, the rice bombas are the bomb, and the Yuca fries!

A great addition to the neighborhood! I visited Las Tapas for the first time tonight, for a low key Sunday dinner with The Boyfriend. We started with drinks — he got a beer but I ordered the sangria flight. Four small glasses of their various sangrias, equivalent to two gigantic glasses and all for $ 15. Not bad. So many things on the menu looked good, so we ended up going a little crazy. Our salad was perfect for summer: frisee, grapefruit, dates, almonds and goat cheese. We got the lamb meatballs(with a little quail egg baked in each one!) and the pork belly — both plates big enough to be considered an entrée in itself. The arincini and mushroom and bacon dishes were both really tasty as well. And The Boyfriend ordered the montado d anchoa, pureed eggplant on crostini, topped with one cured and one fresh anchovy. He said they were perfect, but the idea of them was too fishy for my taste. The service was attentive and friendly. The back patio was the perfect place to eat and chat on a warm Sunday evening. Really, my only regret was ordering so much food that I was too full for an order of churros for dessert. I’m already planning on going back and what I’m going to get!

Checked out this neighborhood spot last night. I had visited awhile back when it was another, very dark dingy restaurant. It was MUCH better last night. The décor is simple and clean but lots of character. Love the bar area! Also, the open back area for dining is really cute and just waiting for some live music! I ordered lamb meatballs, croquettes with ham and cassava fries – all were good but not amazing. My guy ordered the roasted chicken and it was awesome! He ate every bite… except for the ones I ate Drinks were yummy and the service was GREAT! Will definitely be back to try some more of main plates!

This is a nice addition to the neighborhood. They have a good selection of tapas. The rest of the menu is ok, nothing great. Food: Good tapas menu. albondigas are good. The yuca brava is a nice spin on a traditional. Montado de anchoa is a must. The paella is ok, large serving enough for two. If you are comparing these tapas to the ones when you visited Spain, they won’t quite live up to it, but they are good for NY. The price is a little on the high side. Service: Great service, very attentive and they check up on you as needed Atmosphere: I like the place, it’s a lot better than the previous establishment here. Just the right amount of lighting, not too dark, not too bright. I haven’t been here for brunch on a weekend, but looking to try it out.

Wow. Quality food! I relived my memories of when I visited Spain last year. This place is amazing and couldn’t have been a more perfect addition to the neighborhood. It’s only been open a few weeks, therefore I was shocked to see how packed it was for dinner on a Wednesday night. The wait time was about 30 –45 min for a table by 7pm. Get there early. As soon as you walk in, the scent of delicious Paella and Gambas al Ajillo will waken your senses and taste buds. The atmosphere was very European and music in the background was true to its Spanish roots. Lots of older couples enjoying date night here. The place is quite romantic. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. The service was excellent and I think it was the owner walking around with s big smile making sure things were running smoothly. Love this place. Hidden gem for sure. FYI, happy hour is until 7pm. It includes wines, sangria and draft beers $ 5. The red sangria was fresh and tasteful. The Paella is $ 31. Prices are affordable and food exceeded my expectations. I hope this place continues to deliver quality service and above average cuisine. Definitely go try it.
