Looking for a place to sit down and get some work done? Well this might not be the spot. This place is nice to read a book and drink coffee for a bit, but not to get some work done. There is not much room, and you are limited to one hour worth of wifi so use it well! Their is no restroom, so if coffee gives you the runs, well you might want to avoid this place. The chocolate cookie was very good though! I would recommend if you are craving something sweet

Best place in Hudson heights for coffee. Delicious coffee. Must try the ice coffee. Nice atmosphere though small and frequently packed.

They had some cute drawings from kids hanging around the shop. The atmosphere is alright. The cashiers weren’t very friendly and the coffee left a lot to be desired. I think I might go to Starbucks instead.

This place is really nice. It’s a tad bit small so you might have some trouble finding seating on a busy day, but the staff is nice, the wi-fi is stable, and everyone that walks in here seems to be friendly. I hope a ton more places like this pop up in Washington Heights. My only complaint is that the coffee and food is a little higher in terms of price than some other coffee shops in the area, so I hope that folks who are currently in this neighborhood continue to be able to find it affordable.

Stopped by here a couple times for coffee to go and each time the drinks were perfection. The coffee is excellent and they have one of the best green tea lattes I’ve ever had. I recall trying an apple cider latte as well that was delicious. It can get really packed in here, and I don’t see this as a great studying/work space, though I do see many people utilizing the big-ish table they have.

Not a lot for the gluten free crowd, but OMC(Oh My Coffee) are they doing it right with the Ethiopian Macchiato.

Super-cute place, friendly vibe, excellent coffee and fast service. Only con is that there’s not much seating room.

Thank God for this place when you are hung over! Super mellow and friendly staff that makes it all happen! From the coffee that is perfectly smooth to the smoothies and the great green entry, this is more than a caffeine pick-me-up!

Yes! Good fair trade cup. Very friendly staff. It’s not cheapest but nor should quality be. Good take home beans too. Oh yeah, you’re supporting a locally owned biz.

Nice place on a cold day. Staff is friendly, owner is great and cares about the neighborhood. I have the choice to go to Starbuck’s in the neighborhood each day and Buunni is my first choice. I wish they could make it a little bigger w a few more seats but they do what they can with the space given. Nice promotion of the local artists.

Café Buunni is a wonderful part of our neighborhood. The coffee, baked goods and other offerings are delicious. But, more importantly, it has become a classic neighborhood spot where folks are able to meet and spend time. Thank you to Elias and Sarina for creating this great café in our corner of Washington Heights!

There are not many coffee shops around this area, so it seems to be popular. Inside is rather small, has just one big table for people to share, and a small bench by the window, and counter with seating on the wall. The cashier was not friendly at all, but the coffee was good and so was the baked goods. Coffee size was a bit small for the price, but quality cup. Back again. Dirty chai latte. And I tried their biscotti! Very tasty. It’s a lemon something-or-other, but they have other varieties. I was greeted and served by two ladies I have not seen before, but they were both lovely. Star rating remains the same, of course.

Updated review — Even though you guys lost your amazing baker recently, the coffee is still great, place is much cleaner and enjoyable from prior year/summer and the art you display is often very nice.

Cute atmosphere, a nice little local spot. Pretty expensive, though, and definitely not your«stop on your way to work» joint unless you like being 20 minutes late. Also, this will sound like a strange criticism, but since we’re on the topic… they have the WORST quality cups and straws. It might not seem important, but it’s a bummer knowing you’re going to have to surgically remove your straw from its wrapper so it doesn’t splinter into a million pieces. First world problems, I know, but I’m getting it all out here.

The mood here has shifted. New hires with sunnier attitudes are now manning the register. Pleases and thank yous abound! Jolliness overflows! Coffee-colored rainbows paint the sky! But really, I gave Buunni another shot and noticed new baristas who don’t make me feel guilty for having a low-level coffee addition, who are polite and cordial, and I appreciate that. My only gripe is those amazing granola bars aren’t always available. But when they are, well, it’s like Christmas morning.

Café Buunni has come a long way since I initially started coming here in November 2012. The interior continues to reinvent itself by offering a variety of seasonal drinks and growing collection of food items(slices of cake, almond croissants, Umpqua Oats oatmeal). With revolving artwork on display, free Wi-Fi and recently upgraded POS equipment and brewing machines, business appears to be thriving. And they also serve great coffee. My staple here is the mocha, made with Gevalia chocolate syrup with perfectly-formed foam leaves on top. It isn’t overly sweet and the espresso flavor shines through. The Ethiopian Macchiato is also a treat, as is a regular cappuccino. The almond croissants and savory scones, when available, are on point. Other drink items, like the seasonal pumpkin and eggnog lattes, dilute the brand for me(and don’t taste so good). The store also has a bit of an identity crisis, in terms of the amount of loyalty programs it uses(Cupps app, defunct gift card, brand new points-based system). But the baristas are delightful and chipper. In essence, this is the only place you should be buying coffee, crafted in-store or purchased in bulk(I love the Sidama variety), when in the neighborhood. Yum.

I didn’t have coffee here, so I can’t judge the coffee. But I did have a people’s pop popsicle, which is amazing by itself, so I give this place four stars. It’s a small place. I wouldn’t camp out here to do any work, but a nice place to pop by for a few minutes and eat a popsicle.

Cute neighborhood coffee shop. Quality coffee, pretty good prices. Not Starbucks. I like that the business is very focused on not only supporting sustainable practices, but also local businesses. They sell people’s pops(NYC-based popsicles), and they are yummy! Too small for me to really linger in though, and I feel like I’m disturbing people at work on the large single table every time I come in to grab a coffee.
