Excellent service and an incredible variety. They’re always on the look out for what is new and different in the market. Educational tastings and great recommendations. A much needed addition to the neighborhood!

I have to say this place is absolutely fantastic. They have a huge selection of whiskeys and spirits, & a more than adequate selection of wine. Alex really knows how to help and reccomend wine and spirits for any budget.
I have been to many places in Manhattan and I used to exclusively shop at the huge Pj’s wine warehouse because I thought they had the best prices… I was s wrong, go experience this for yourself. Bennett wine and liquor is where it’s at. Last time I checked they had Michters small batch whiskey for $ 5 less than any other place in Manhattan.
I used to live in the building so this was my local place. If there was something they didn’t have they would order it for me right away and have it with in a day or two.
TIP-​they almost always have free wine and liquor tastings on Friday and Saturday night.

By far one of the best liquor stores I’ve ever been to in NYC. The staff is helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The store itself offers a great variety of decent wines, vodkas, and new things that I’ve never heard of and best of all, at a reasonable price.
Before moving to Washington Heights from Elmhurst, I was pretty much convinced that every liquor store anywhere was the same, ie, a – hole judgmental employees, bad old wines (as most wines below the 20 $ price point go bad within 3 – 5 years after bottling), and stupid prices. But Bennett is different.
I visited Bennett the first time about 8 months ago and I’ve been coming back ever since. The staff, as mentioned, is knowledgeable, friendly and definitely not pushy. I like that. I don’t want to be pushed into buying something I don’t want.
The prices are very reasonable for the city, as I’ve notice the pricing similarity of other boroughs known to be cheap.
The customer conscious and dedicated way of doing business can be observed on the variety of products they sell; all the way from cheap wines and spirits (for when I feel ratchet) to mid and high end products for special occasions.
Over all I love this liquor store. I feel welcomed and a sense of belonging to the neighborhood.
Bennett will definitely have my business for as long as I live here.

I wouldn’t have imagined rating a liquor store on Unilocal,let alone giving it a 5 star, but this place consistently amazes me with their ability to create a sense of community and desire to get to know their customers by name and wine tastes. Santana (the «mayor» ?) is incredibly personable — once he realized that I am learning to love wine, he’s made it his goal to point to bottles I’ll love and he is usually spot-​on. The whole staff is genuinely friendly and make my day when I stop by.

The more and more I frequent Bennett, the more I fall in love. The guys here, as my roommate puts it, «actually create a sense of community in their store.» The staff is attentive, friendly, and comical. They want you to participate in what is obviously a passion for them: the consumption and purveying of alcohol.
The best part of the Bennett experience is their openness and willingness to listen to their customers. The guys consistently tells me «You tell me what you want and I’ll get it.» I believe them.

Good prices, wide selection, and friendly staff! Several times I’ve asked for help picking a bottle of wine to bring to a dinner and they’ve been very helpful. My go-​to place for alcohol in the neighborhood :)

Great new wine shop with super-​friendly staff! I even asked once if they delivered & they said «Yes» only to have them deliver our bottle within 10 minutes, That; was FAST! This is my «new» wine spot.

Lots of options and open late. Prices are really good compared to surrounding stores. They also deliver for free (through the website) if you buy over a certain amount, good stuff i say.
