CLOSED! We lost another good eatery to high rents in Manhattan

I enjoyed everything I ordered from here. I tried the Ramps pizza. The crust is thin but wide edged. The shucked mussels in a light broth soup with garlic bread was excellent. I loved it. The panna cotta was excellent. Thin slices of citrus and chopped pistachio was garnished on top with red blood orange slices which had some kind of sauce around it. The place is trendy and clean and neat. Another restaurant for me to come back to! And I did! This time I ordered their tomato-basil pizza.

Vic’s Pizza may be one of the last few old-school pizza parlors in the city, serving up pies and slices that are pure New York pizza perfection — not too thick, not too thin, with just the right amount of «flop» and real deal flavor. Vic uses only the best cheese and sauce — something you can’t take for granted when many of the dollar pizza stores actually use fake mozzarella. When you’re craving the real thing, Vic’s really satisfies.

I’ve only been here twice, and I’ve only ever had pizza here. That’s what you expect most people to buy, right? Before I get to the pizza, let me talk about the place. Vic’s looks like what you expect a pizza place to look like. There’s wooden chairs, food on display, etc. What is not typical is that in a corner there is a garbage can sitting on top of things for some reason. What reason? Don’t know! This is a small place, enough to seat maybe 3 groups of people. So I wonder why the Pac Man arcade machine hasn’t been sold off or put in storage. Look, Pac Man is a cool piece of nostalgia, but it seems to be taking up space more than it’s making money for the establishment. Now, the food. I usually eat a couple slices, plain or with pepperoni. First visit, I felt that the pizza was fine. I had a problem of a pickle smell wafting in from the Pickle Guys next door, but that’s not Vic’s fault. On my second visit, I felt like something was off with the cheese. It felt like it was cheese that wasn’t too fresh. I don’t know what happened, but I still ate both slices! So I would definitely would go back to Vic’s, but I wish that the space was given a little thought, and I would like the pizza to have a more consistent taste.

Too pricey when it comes to their burgers. Ordered the Small Pizza with Sausage but never got satisfied by the taste of it. The toppings was a little bad because its way too low in taste. Can’t find any goodness in this place. God save this place from closing.

Came here with a coworker for lunch and ordered the chicken parm sandwich. Immediately after ordering it I regretted my decision bc I saw him take a piece of precooked chicken and pour sauce over it and put it into the microwave. He then took it out and put the cheese on and put it back in the microwave. If I wanted a microwaved lunch I wouldn’t have come to a restaurant and paid for it.

Wow, what an incredible dissapointment Vic’s is. After reading several 4 star reviews, my co-worker and I decided to give it a go. At a peak lunchtime hour, there was only one employee and 90% of our respective meals were made using a microwave. Everything was defrosted, then sauce and cheese was added. I felt like I was paying for food cooked in a freshman dorm room. Perhaps the pizza is better, but the pie sitting out was not kept warm and the slice that one customer picked up wasn’t even tossed in the oven to heat up. I had low expectations for my food, and they were met accordingly. Go elsewhere, you’ll be much happier.

This place is awesome. The beef patties are amaaaaaaaaaaaazing. And there’s a ms pacman machine that you can play while you wait! No frills seating so you can be assured you won’t be bothered with yuppy douchebags either. Kinda small so not good for big crowds.

Vic’s is legit New York pizza. It’s family owned and operated and has been for like 20 years. Vic is a good guy and makes a great pie. Also has good sandwiches. Lunch special is 2 slices and a can of soda for $ 5. Support your local pizza shop!

Very standard slice of pizza that screams NY!!. It’s not too thin and not thick at all with a nice blend of tomato sauce. This place has been around and it brings back memories. There are video games in the back. This place is very tiny but it has a whole lotta flavor! It serves mostly teens and children in the neighborhood. Brief history about this place– This place has been open for more than 20 years. Vic’s pizza like most people mention here was once called Joe’s pizza. I do not know what happened to Joe but he was a good man. He was a Christian man and he used to post news paper cartoons on the walls. I remember that Joe used to work the front and Vic was always next to him making pizza and sometimes Vic’s son would help out. They are good people. I hope this place stays. Thank you Vic for making good pizza and Joe I hope all is well.

Vic was running this pizza joint when it used to be Joe’s Pizza, and after Vic took over the pizza is still DAMNGOOD! Coming from a home grown, native New Yorker, that’s saying a lot. You have to taste it to believe it! For the record, while studying abroad in Italy, the only thing on my mind while choking down pizza, was Vic’s. With that said, I’ll see you this weekend, Vic!

Hole in the wall pizza joint. I’m not too fond of the pizza here. I felt like the sauce is too salty and their crust was crunchy but got hard very quickly. What I do love are the Knishes. Crrunchy on the outside and hot savory mashed potato on the inside. Mmmmmm… I didn’t get anything else from here but I did notice a guy order a tamale? I think. I was kind of thrown off when I saw the chef pass him two banana wrapped food item, I’m assuming a tamale. Didn’t see it on the menu. but I guess you can ask. Large Cheese — $ 14 Knishes $ 2.50

it might LOOK dirty, but its not. and you might THINK there is only cheese pizza, but he can put on toppings for you. overall pretty solid pizza, crust was just crispy enough.

Please note that this is not the Holy grail of pizza. However, the slice is good– sized, perfect sauce and cheese ratio and they have Ms. Pac– Man in there. The shop hasn’t changed in about a million years(I grew up in the neighborhood) and it still has it’s original hush puppies machine. Also, I love that Vic cracks himself up watching reruns of the George Lopez show.

Ditto on Beth P’s remarks on Vic’s regular slice and the comments of some of the other Unilocalers. I’ll add: Great chemistry of flavors, spices, sauce, crust, cheese, consistency, texture, thinness but not too thin– Vic’s manages to blend thickness with thinness with clever balance. The place is divey– but not dirty. Everything about Vic’s screams tiny. Ya gotta love the 80’s Pac Man Video Game machine in the back corner(I’ve had fun playing a game or two) and the flat screen tv. It’s just a down to earth, neighborhood joint to throw down a quick tasty slice and a beverage of your choice if you are busy and on the go. Don’t know if they make sicilian. That info to follow in my edits. Here’s my edit: Just stopped by Vic’s today 3÷1÷10 to inquire about the sicilian. Here’s the word: Vic aims to please, so he will make a sicilian pie to order. In the past he made sicilian pies and they didn’t sell daily. So, he will make you a special sicilian pie on request if you buy the whole pie. There you have it. Enjoy!

When Doughnut plant had all these weird flavors, we came here instead. Pizza wasn’t that great and not too cheap. My friend went to Subway. I went unsatisfied.

Vic’s pizza is good. Nothing spectacular, but it is consistent and the service is always friendly. It has good crust-sauce-cheese ratio and the crust is nice and crispy. The prices are alright, the food is good, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there.

Better than Rosario’s, but not quite as good as Isabella’s, which is down the street. Still like going there for something slightly different(and cheaper) than Isabella’s.

I usually chase down a slice with a cold bottle of… Tums. Vic’s pizza is the rare exception. The crust is really thin and crispy, the sauce is simple and tasty, and there is just the right amount of cheese. Vic makes your pie from scratch when you order take-out. I’ll give my antacids to all the poor suckas still eating at Two Boots down the street!
