I’ve gone a few times and have enjoyed their signature cocktails. The server was a guy who was always nice and attentive. However, the last time I went, the music was obnoxiously loud and the bartender was terrible. I was waiting to pay my tab and while I was waiting, she was texting on her cell phone and chatting with her coworkers. When she finally took my card, she ran it through a cell phone. Really? Can’t get a real credit card machine? I heard it’s closed now, but if they choose to reopen they should definitely have their staff take a course in hospitality.

Fairly certain this place is just a drug front. Its closed now(as of jan 2015). But it’ll be back soon, and it’ll close again. Who the f@#ck runs a buisness like that, even if you are a drug front(of which they most certainly are).

Worst lounge in inwood! Went there for my birthday and had the worst time ever. We had order a birthday package which was supposed to cover bottles, hookah and cake. Some friends arrive first than me and informed me that they were not letting anyone in because they were«full capacity» after some arguing(I’m assuming) they were let in and to their surprise(and later mine) the place was empty!!! There could’ve been more than 60 people in there, 20 of those from my party. As soon as I arrived the waitress started harassing me about ordering something because«we couldn’t sit if we didn’t get bottles» I told her about the arrangements I had and she told me it was $ 100 more than what I had agreed on; after I explain to her what was offered she said ok and went to get everything. The bottles arrived fairly quickly but the hookah was no where to be seen, I had to ask for it 4 times! when it finally came the guy try to charge me and after I told him about the package he had the nerve to tell me I should’ve said that before! Why does it matter? Where they going to bring me something different? Cheaper quality or not bring it at all? One of my friends came later and was not being let in because of the previous reason(at this point only 25 or so more people had came in) I had to go outside to get her and we came back to a table without juice to mix our drinks. Again had to ask about 4 times for it and it finally came when they turn on the lights! That was the last drop! They decided to close early, without warning or reason. Brought me the check which was wrong and came with a birthday cake once almost everyone was gone(which some else –not from my party– took home). I ended up staying an extra 30 minutes trying to figure out the check situation which was another issue. They swipe my card 3 times(all on my statement) and then decided to tell me it was declined(but according to my statement they had charge me x3) I ended up paying all cash because«they can’t split the check» so that I could pay half credit-half cash. Overall it was a horrible experience and if I could give them ½ stars I would. The only positive was the DJ and that they accommodated my allergies.

LIES, LIES, ANDMORELIES! Disclaimer: Don’t believe ANYTHING you see on social media promoted by Uptown Social until you verify this at the establishment. This is a very CANDID review. Last night was the SECOND time I go to Uptown Social for their«happy hour» after seeing their promotion online(via Twitter/Instagram). It was also the SECOND time they come with some BS. Now normally I like to give people, in general, the benefit of the doubt, but I won’t be coming back here again for the following reasons: — Poor Service: To be fair the place wasn’t packed nor was it empty. There was a good amount of people, but for the most part we literally had to flag down our waitress whenever we wanted to order something. She took our drink order first and it took her about 10 – 15 minutes to come back and take our food order. — False Advertisement: Now for the Tuesday happy hour these are some of the«specials» offered: Free hookah until 11PM with $ 10 refills. LIE #1 — refills are actually $ 15. $ 3 Beers until 11PM. LIE #2 — not all beers are $ 3. For example, Presidente is actually $ 4 and doesn’t fall under the«special». Oh, and good luck trying to get a beer of your choice. I ordered a Stella then a Heineken and finally had to go for my third choice, a Corona, since they were«all out» of my first two choices. — Payment: Apparently they’re not high tech enough to charge patrons and accept cash & credit, but they do handle credit card payments with I-pads. Hmmmm… interesting. The only reason I gave this place 1 star was because you can’t give zero stars on a Unilocal review and I actually enjoyed the mac and cheese they offer as an appetizer. However, seriously, there are other places in Dyckman/207(Inwood, in general) that I would happily spend my hard earned money because they’re not bullsh*tting me to get me to walk into their establishment.

This place is WACKSAUCE ! They charge guys $ 20 to go in and WILLNOT give you your money back even if you did not go in yet. I’m looking at you chubby fat girl at the door with the wayyy to tight shorts. The music is ok. Typical Spanish mix w/hip hop. leaning more towards Spanish and denbow, but seriously 4 denbow songs in a row ??? The crowd is mostly dominincan and latin(sausage fest the night I went) with everyone smoking hookah and staring at each other. It looks like a ghettofabulous 2 Chainz video. Its’ fine and all but if im buying multiple drinks and buying a 30 $ hookah why charge 20 $ at the door ??? Thanks Uptown Social… but no thanks… keep your ratchetness… ill be next door. the funny part its not EVEN poppin like that. I have no problem spending my green on good drinks and a jumpin party… but this was not that. Go to other places on Dykman which are better than this trap, seriously

Went for my birthday back in March & had a great time considering I lost my voice for the entire weekend(Beware– their music is EXTREMELY loud so you will be yelling most of the time). Went back tonight and the bartender was beyond rude. She made a mistake on the drink order but wanted to put my drinks down with an attitude while rolling her eyes to walk away. Sure enough, she was at the other end of the bar arguing with two other girls as well. Guess I wasn’t the only who thought she shouldn’t be working there!

Me and my friend BOTH got HORRIBLE food poisoning here. Everything else I would have to say or gripe about this place is irrelevant. I will not be going back here.

Wings were good but food service is very slow our waitress was very apologetic and nice. The music is pretty loud not really a place where you can take kids. But it is a sports bar. I would come again hopefully the food service will get better. The good thing is that they let you take the wings home if you don’t finish them. It’s free hookah on Wednesday too so can enjoy hookah with your wings.

I came to this place with a friend of mine. First of the waiting time for you to get a table to eat is horrendous. After seating us we had to wait more than an hour for them to serve me Guacamole and a Chicken Caesar salad!

An hour and a half to get our food as waiters walk by with everyone elses food. The waiter is no where to be found !! So dissapointed and annoyed. I guess our order was never put in. After an hour we finally got the fruit salad i guess they were making fruit so sad

I’ve been here a few times, and haven’t been disappointed once. The music at night is pretty good; the hookahs are always prepared exactly how I ask for it; and the food is delicious. The happy hour prices are doable, and the staff is nice. Def will be going back again. Oh wait I lied. There us ONE major disappointment: why is the women’s bathroom so tiny?!! Two stalls and absolutely no walking room is NOT how a women’s bathroom should be designed, especially when the men’s room is so big they have room for a couch! I randomly(although at this point it’s more normal than random) use their bathroom for convenience. and get stared at every time I walk out. Lol oh well. Okay. That’s my mini vent.

I give credit where its due… I went back to Uptown Social. My friends and I went on a Friday night. The crowd was very different than Sunday.(more chill). More welcoming and pleasant. I decided not to sit at the bar this time around… we grabbed a table and the waiter was very pleasant and attentive.

From the moment I arrived(which was 20minutes ago) I was completely turned off. I had to wait on a line to go in and the bouncers were discussing that they needed to start kicking guys out because there were too many«hombres». Mind you, the«hombres» are here to watch the fights and the games. To top it off, they started removing all the chairs(but leaving the tables) even from the BAR area where I was seated with my friends. Can someone please explain this to me? The bar isn’t even crowded!!! I don’t get it. So far the only good thing, is the sweet bartender. She is cute, friendly and thoughtful. She asked me if I didn’t like my drink I could return it. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or bad thing Lols but it was thoughtful of her. I would NOT recommend coming here nor will I return.

Went there for a friends birthday. wasn’t much of anything, just a regular bar. its very narrow, and get very packed. when will they stop with all these go-go dancers(please see cheap strippers on a budget)? as the person before me wrote, its just like Sabado Gigante, pretty(–ish) girls with no rhythm, beat or sense dancing on the bar tops. The most entertaining part was hoping and praying they fell(they didnt). Hookah is ok here, drinks are okay for city prices and shots are about the same. frankly, save your self the trip if your not from the inwood or immediate area, its just not work it. Also, men, its $ 20 for us to get in. get the f out of here. for a crammed bar, okay drinks and crammed space? wallin

thats odd, i see there are girls writing reviews to complain about the prices. YOUARE A GIRL, WHYTHE F AREYOUPAYINGFORANYTHINGIN A CLUB??? thats your first problem right there. so anyways… the Saturday night scene… the crowd at U.S. is mostly cute dominican guys/girls. slightly younger crowd than you’d see at La Marina. a few puertoricans and morenos thrown in for good measure. no dress code. go-go dancers on an elevated platform by the bar — they try really hard but they’re wack. Its basically like the stage of Sabado Gigante. sexy bodies but lame moves. nothing more, nothing less. its ok. i’d go again, but not intentionally.

I’m going to keep it short and simple!!! Went this weekend with some friends to have some drinks n hookah. Well over the bar a drink is $ 16.00 more expensive then most bars in uptown, we decide to get a table. Got a bottle of Henny, mind you is not the VSOP regular Henny and we were charge 170 plus tax, plus gratuity. I didn’t like the service, waitress was rude and not attentive at all music is alright, ghetto vibe and no dress code for females and males. Well little do you know, we’re never goin back to this good place!!!

My first impression of Uptown Social. Very trendy. They nailed it with the ambiance and décor and the feel it gives you upon arrival My friend and I went to grab a quick bite. It was Sunday afternoon and no major sports game was on so the bar was quite empty. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I tried the Sherman Mojito. It was really good but it would taste better if they will add fruit to it like berries to compliment the taste. The food was average. But then again I don’t expect fine dining at a sports bar. They have a massive screen behind the bar which is good to watch games. Also the walls are very eclectic and will keep you distracted. I had a good experience at Uptown Social and can see myself going again for wings and a beer or just simply to hang out with the boys. Also they had a dj spinning some good tunes considering the time that was def an incentive

Short and sweet. Came as a party of two, made them aware we were expecting 3 more at any time. Supposedly only tables for two were available. Cool, no prob. A table of 4 gets up, our server said if we were ordering food we were able to sit there, I let him know we were just about to do so. Unfortunately they broke the two tables of two up and sat two parties of three at each(both of which came WAY after we had) so clearly first come first server or just being there first we should have priority. Well they did not seat us and two people in our party stood for the meal. Uhm… yea neither party ordered food either. Part 2. We ordered a bucket of beers… A bucket, not two but one. The bottle service girl/server whatever you want to call her claimed we ordered two… clearly we told her we did not want a second when she came back to check on us. Instead of apologizing and taking it back she made us pay for it. She also told us «hablame en espanol» in other words speak to me in spanish… I dont care if its chinatown, the heights or any other cultural part of NYC, speak english and if you didn’t understand us, find someone else to communicate with us or accept your own mistake. Unfortunately her tip was included in the bill. Another fluke of eating in dyckman… yikes never returning here… I wondered what the owner/management has to say about this one.

Came here on a Sat. nite for a friends bday. Weird location… between a Sprint store and Duane Reade on Dyckman St. but that can be overlooked I guess. With Apt. 78 going out of business(so I heard), this place comes w/good timing. No cover charge to get in, hookah service literally being pushed down your throat every 5 minutes, good neighborhood crowd, decent music, flat screen tv’s playing sports @ every angle with a jumbo tv right behind the bar. It’s a good look. THEBAR: bartenders here need some serious help/training. This place is brand new so I’ll cut them some slack as far as that goes but seriously… A 15 to 30 minute wait every time I went to the bar for a drink? Add another 10 minutes for the wait to get your change back. Shit was ridiculous. There must have been over 200 people there, 2 cash registers and 3 or 4 inexperienced bartenders behind the bar. Its a good thing that jumbo tv was there to look at while I waited and waited… Train your staff Uptown Social… This place has potential. Time is money.
