The waiter always seems to be grumpy. On this visit, I went for breakfast and I sat at a booth when I walked in. Since I was by myself, the waiter wanted me to change seats to the tiniest table, even though there was hardly anyone in the place. There were other empty booths, so no one was denied a place to sit. I decided to go «Next Door» where the staff is much more pleasant and accommodating!

My favorite diner. They serve good food, friendly staff and are insanely fast. My only complaint are the hash browns. Always come out with a strange texture and no flavor.

Great neighborhood diner, with all the diner standards and good Greek fare. Everything is fresh and made to order. There’s a reason it’s packed every weekend. Love it.

Beware of online pricing. Menu prices online do NOT reflect correct prices, they are almost double what is posted online. Check first before you order. They have not updated their pricing.

I’ve come here for years, not because it’s good, but because it is one of the two diners in the neighborhood and if you want that kind of food, that’s about it. Tonight I brought my 4 and a half year old daughter, and the waiter was so incredibly petty and rude, that we may never be back. He sat us at a booth and took our order. I ordered a frappé because I wasn’t eating dinner, and my daughter ordered a soup, because that’s what she wanted – she’s 4. On taking our order, the waiter told me that we may not be able to stay at the booth if someone else wants it, because we aren’t spending enough money. He said he’d move us to another table. I get it, someone else may come in and order a blue plate special, but come on, it is a diner. Since when do diners have per table minimums? We would have been out of there in 15 minutes. Instead we walked out and will probably never be back. And if you’re interested in what the food is like, it is very mediocre. They have very limited competition and cook like it. They use low quality frozen meats and bland seasoning. I grew up going to classic NYC diners, and Vicky’s is anything but that.

Friendly, welcoming staff, fresh food, booths for 2 – 4 skinny customers. A great example of the old fashioned traditional diner style! This is a place where you’ll hear the waiters talking to the cooks using old fashioned«Diner Lingo.»

This is a nice, cozy diner. The Greeks do it right. Prices were a bit on the steep side but Mrs. Soy says it is, after all, Manhattan. It’s Washington Heights for Pete’s sake. The fries were a bit undercooked but the burger was tasty and the pancakes were good too. Service was friendly.

I like old school diners as much as anyone, assuming the food’s good. That’s not the case here, unfortunately. Pancakes were leaden, starchy, and tasteless, as though they’d been frozen and then re-heated. Syrup was basically high-fructose corn syrup in a tube. Grapefruit juice was spoiled and fermented. Really the only advantage is that it’s cheap.

Vicky’s– not a neighborhood friendly place. I have never written a Unilocal review– positive nor negative but feel compelled to do so after my experience today. As a long time customer and local resident of the neighborhood, I ran into Vicky’s today with the hopes of quickly using the restroom. I was stopped in my tracks and told that I had to buy something in order to use their restroom. I pleaded with the manager as it was an emergency explaining that I was a local and frequent diner. He shook his head and said No, that I had to buy something. On principle alone, I left, furious that as a customer and local, I was not given the decency to use their restroom. Will not patronize again. This is not an establishment that adheres to local and community respect and values as far as I’m concerned. Get your diner food elsewhere– somewhere that they’ll know your name.

A favorite, casual, affordable, friendly neighborhood diner. We’ve gotten brunch and takeout there and both have been wonderful. Try the omelettes, souvlaki platters and the iced frappé if you’re in the mood for iced coffee.

Ordered for delivery from there with my coworkers and no one was happy with their food. I ordered a cheeseburger deluxe that was 9.25, the patty looked as if it came out a box and the fries were damn near cold by the time it got delivered. One of my coworkers ordered their chicken fingers which look like tenders by the way, paid $ 7 for it and only got 4 and no she didn’t get fries or anything else. My other coworker ordered a Philly cheese steak sandwich with nothing else and paid 12.75 for it and she didn’t even like it so she gave what she didn’t eat to a homeless guy. We all ate the food solely because we were hungry and nothing more. In total the order came up to about $ 30 and it wasn’t even close to worth it. Usually diners are really good with their food but this one just didn’t make the cut and I feel bad because I’m the one that suggested this place for a try. All in all… Never Again

Vicky’s has such a great vibe. The majority of the people are regulars which I love, because it creates such a laid back homey kind of atmosphere. The food is consistently good, and their coffee is surprisingly delicious for a diner. It’s a tiny bit pricey, especially for the area, but it’s so conveniently located near my apt that I can’t really complain. The french toast is FIVESTARS!!! EATIT!!! I’m not a big bread eater, but I will make an exception for their french toast any day(as long as it’s not a day that I already had french toast :-)… If you’re In the Heights, Vicky’s should definitely be, at the very least, a monthly staple.

Great service, great people, and great food. I love this diner, every time I come in, Vicky greats me and the rest of the staff. The food is always fresh and the staff are funny. It’s always busy on weekends so make sure you are patient to wait. Best sit in the house is by the bar.

Like many of the prior reviews, I would say this a a great little diner with your standard menu. I’ve been here several times. They’re fast to get the food to your plate and the prices are quite reasonable. You’re not going to find anything mind blowing but I’ve never left feeling anything but satisfied.

I love Vickys. I was nervous moving out of a smaller city with a great breakfast diner that I would be without, but Vicky’s totally takes care of that emptiness with delicious and wonderful food. I always get a veggie omelet, but they have a HUGE array of breakfast and lunch foods. You can also order for delivery, but you do have to call and talk to a human — very old fashioned compared with Grubhub. Bring cash — they don’t take cards.

I have been coming to Vicky’s for years and this is the first tome I really, really enjoyed her food. I am npt saying that the burgers and omelettes I have eaten have not been good. It’s just that they have not stood out or been anything to rave about. However, last week I came with my wife and two kids and tjought about getting a cheeseburger deluxe — the usual. I ahppened to look across to a table and this woman was eating a great looking salad. I asked Vicky and she said it was a Chicken Souvlaki platter with fries. The salad was fresh and the chicken was well seasoned as well as the fries. She placed lime juice and oregano to give it an authentic taste. It was absolutely delicious. I have found a great tasting and healthy playter to eat at Vicky’s!
