I literally have no idea what I would do if this place weren’t here. I’m a working musician(and general night owl), which means my hours are… odd…at best, and not only is it awesome to have a food option at any hour of the night, it’s GOOD. Super clean, and I have NEVER had anything from here that wasn’t totally killer. Best deal on a salad in NYC, too!

Best deli in Washington heights! I like to get a footlong egg and cheese with avocado, cheddar, tomato, onion and jalapeño and it’s only 4 $ and it’s sooo delicious. Best bfast deal ever.

Very efficient and clean deli. The smoothies are so good and I love that they offer an array of grocery items — and the guys in there are so friendly! It’s really nice inside, not a million people hanging out and getting in the way, and am always in and out. I usually stop by on my way home.

Love this place! I’m always super hesitant to ever get food from any of the creepy delis around but this place is totally different. Very clean and professional and their food is great. They have a great variety of subs that you don’t find most places that are absolutely delicious. If you live in the area I definitely would recommend adding it to your list of go-to lunch or midnight munchie locations.

This deli is clean, consistent, and delicious! The service is great, the place is always organized, and the clerks are friendly and approachable. The food is on point as well! These guys are 24hrs and never complain. They smile at 3am when you come in for late night munchies. It’s right by the 1 train, which is perfect for grabbing a quick morning bagel and perfect for dinner. NYC is expensive, but I can live off this deli and save a ton of money while enjoying good semi-nutritious food. I’m about to go there now.

I’ve only gotten a few things from here, and everything’s been pretty standard«corner deli» fare. However, I stopped here tonight and ordered the Chicken and Rice — big mistake. This was perhaps the WORST plate of Chicken and Rice I’ve eaten in NYC. For one, the chicken was gristly. Now, a piece of gristle here or there is unavoidable, but every other piece was like chewing on an eraser! The white sauce honestly tasted like bottled ranch, and the hot sauce had no other flavor besides HOT. But the most unforgivable aspect of it was the rice. Oh man. It was wet and soggy, and I actually had a few burnt pieces in it. You’re selling Halal food for Pete’s sake, how hard is it to make fluffy, moist yellow rice? I don’t know if they were just having an off night, but I’ll never order a Halal dish from this establishment, ever again. It’s a shame, because it’s clean and well-stocked, and the customer service is on point. The Salad Bar is the only thing saving this place from 1 star. EDIT: Changed my review from 2 to 3 stars, because it’s honestly not a bad place. But MAN was that Chicken and Rice nasty!

I always get a breakfast sandwich here and every time it hits the spot. Pretty good selection of snacks and drinks. Plus the guys that work here are super nice.

Nice guys. Good selection. Sometimes they run out of my favorite cookies and ice cream, though. My roommate and friends enjoy their sandwiches and salads. I only buy drinks and snacks there but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy food. They’re clean and prompt in there.

Ever since they updated this store it is the spot to go to. They make delicious sandwiches and salads. They deliver until 12am and are open 24⁄7. The cooks are very nice and patient. I always get my late night munchies from here.

Super friendly and they always remember me! One guy let me borrow his own wine opener for a night because they didn’t have any in stock and trusted me to bring it back. Good sandwiches too!

One year ago, this was just your below average, dirty deli. What a difference a year can make. This deli has been beautifully renovated and is hardly recognizable if you had ever been inside the previous deli. They stock plenty of grocery items and emergency supplies here, so it’s great if you forgot a shopping item at the grocery store and need it quickly. I was surprised to see that they offer a fair amount of healthy snack foods as well such as hummus, greek yogurt, and granola. Of course it also doesn’t hurt that they make very good sandwiches as well. This place has now become my go-to place for a breakfast sandwich in the morning. Unlike other delis nearby, they grill the bread without asking, which makes all the difference in the world. Combine all this with the friendly staff and you have a shining example of how to do a proper renovation.

Clean, cheap, and delicious. Who could want more from a deli?

What a difference a little renovation makes. This location went from a classically-sketchy uptown bodega into a full-on respectable deli, open 24/7, offering a host of services sorely lacking in this neighborhood: a small but excellent selection of groceries, a friendly staff and what’s one of the best sandwich counters I’ve seen in NYC. The menu is brightly displayed on a wall of flatscreen TVs above the deli counter, with classics(a mean hot pastrami) and proprietary selections as well(like the Ya Maan: jerk turkey, red onion, jalapeño, lettuce and tomato). I personally recommend the Turkey Cheddar: get over the shock of being able to order a wrap above 96th St(!) – a whole wheat wrap, no less(!!) – and enjoy the turkey breast, turkey bacon, cheddar and BBQ sauce(!!!). The wraps come with chips and a soda, topping out at $ 6.49. Most of the staff is from Yemen – so no booze to buy – but they bring some tastes of home into play, offering lamb gyro, falafel with hummus, and Arabian-spiced chicken that I’ve heard other customers raving about. Two things I’ve yet to try: the impressive breakfast menu and the big selection of made-to-order fruit smoothies – 16 oz for $ 2.99. If the other things offered are any indicator, they will be ten kinds of awesome too.
