The Chimi is good. The empanadas are good also. Great place for a snack. Also the shakes are good.

The empanadas are okay my favorite are the 3 cheese one because it’s so cheesy and delicious. I also love the papaya shakes they make here especially since the fruit is fresh and not frozen.

So, the food came fast, the empanadas were decent(I like the dough, but the filling could have been less over cooked/dry) — the two stars is because of the«pork» burrito I ordered. It was gross. More so salty ham chunks or spam or something. Bleh. And sliced cheese and sliced tomatoes?! It’s not a Hero sandwich. So weird. Never again. Maybe you’ll have better luck with the chicken burrito. Also, they forgot one of my empanadas. I would have rather had my missing empanada than that nasty burrito.

Empanadas Galore! The empanadas are Dominican Style incase you were wondering. I was not sure how this place was going to do but it’s great. Every time I go uptown for a family or friend event I stop by and buy a bunch. They are always a big hit ! They carry about 15 different combinations and I have tried nearly all. My favorite is Plantains with cheese! If you are in a bind and don’t want to show up empty handed this is a great solution.

Empanadas are ok, but nothing to write home about. Makes a good cheap snack, but I like more filling and less dough. Ppl are nice here and the place is clean though too

If you want empanadas, this is your place. ‘Cause that’s pretty much all they do! And nobody else around really does them! But hey, they’re not bad. Not a huge amount of filling, but it’s mostly worth the price. I particularly liked their shredded beef. I’ll try the ground beef again next time, too, though the seasoning seemed somewhat off – it was basically less spicy that I expected. They post both English and Spanish names for each item; when you’re ordering, I recommend using the Spanish ones since the server I was talking to couldn’t quite remember which names they’d chosen in English for each empanada. NBD, just a heads-up. I’ll definitely come back here, since it fills a niche otherwise unchallenged in the area!

Hi Guys, After walking by this place everyday on the way to work, I decided to stop in this afternoon and bought one beef yuca ball and another of cheese. I took a chance and was surprised, they were pretty tasty. If you are lookin to try sumpthin new, I would recommend the place. The store itself was very clean and the people were pretty friendly.

Disappointing! if people are nice, and the place looks clean, the empanadas were far under my expectations: very dry, way too much dough for so little filling, taste was just not… tasty ! Sorry guys, I’ll pass.

Look, I was as sad as anyone to see New Caporal close down, and I was as skeptical as anyone when I saw that an empanada shop had taken its place, but then I bit into a chicken and cheese empanada from here. It was great. I like the delicious fried dough, and it has just the right amount of filling for me. I’ve only had a small sampling of their varieties, but I’ll be having more soon.
