Very clean and fresh looking deli juice bar; went here for lunch and got a fresh salmon entrée($ 11.95) comes with two sides so I opted for the healthy veggies and mushrooms. The guy is very generous in picking the largest salmon, they also have a sushi station or udon to those who loves those. Will come back again

We visit this place mostly after a Dr. visit up the street. It is moderately priced and fresh and clean as a whistle. They have tons of draft beers, salads, soup, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, custom pasta dishes and stir fries. The sandwiches are huge and satisfying and custom made to order., as are the salads, burgers and pasta dishes. There is a dining area on the balcony and several tables on the main floor.

For the prices you pay at this place you would expect quality food, but that is the opposite of what you get. The sandwiches are ridiculously overpriced and all you get is a couple of slices of pre sliced meat and some lettuce. God knows how long the meat has been laying around for. I work right around the corner from this place and every time I got something from there I’ve been disappointed. I’d rather starve than give this place any more money.

Solid lunch place. I usually get their salads. For the neighborhood, they have the best deal on salads. when they are done the salad bowl is completely full-unlike other places around here. Its filling and satisfying. Sandwiches are okay. Juice bar is good.

It’s the price of a good sit in meal for high school cafeteria quality take away. I haven’t tried the asian section – mainly because the woman working there had an obvious cold and kept wiping her nose, sneezing, and coughing. The refrigerator is not organised and you don’t know how much they’re over charging you until you check out. So if you’re really desperate for food late at night and have the money to burn you can try it. But otherwise, I wouldn’t advise it.

I ordered the Greek wrap, which was listed on the menu as a «healthier» option with egg whites, spinach, mushrooms and feta in a spinach wrap. At $ 4.95, it seemed like a good price for Union Square. However, I realized too late that the price was probably so low because the wrap was unreasonably small, and mostly comprised of layers of tortilla with just a few bites of egg. Even worse, when I opened the wrap to eat it(about 5 minutes later, I literally walked across the street) it was soggy and oozing with oil. If i had wanted that much grease for breakfast, I would have ordered bacon instead of egg whites. So much for a healthy option. I tried to use my student ID because there was a sign at the counter advertising 10% off with ID. The woman at the counter told me that it doesn’t apply in the morning. That was pretty lame. A lot of people from my school like this place but I don’t get it.

Good deli! Food is fresh — great salads and lots of choices. I’ve been here a couple of times and the sushi is one of my favorite selections. It’s surprisingly good. A little bit expensive but it’s beyond convenient. If you can tie one on during lunch, they have beers on tap!

This is a good place if you’re looking for something quick and easy to eat before class, work, or during lunch. Their smoothies are delicious and fresh as well as their salad bar. Their sandwiches are not bad and the sushi is decent. There are many options to pick from here, I haven’t tried them all but I’m sure they’re tasty. My only issue here is that the prices are a bit inflated and for mediocre food you may be better off trying someplace else to eat.

Yikes! Sad about all of the negative reviews. First time here today after realizing my fall back spot had shuttered, we venuted into UWay and had a great experience. I can’t speak for all of the staff however, the Hibachi counter in the back worked great for me. $ 9 for a totally shareable container of breast meat chicken, brown rice and ample veggies that is not greasy and tasted phenomenal. We also grabbed a pre-made(brown rice) spicy tuna roll($ 7 for 8 pieces) and though not the least bit spicy, it was fresh and tasted great. I happened to check in while waiting for my habachi order and Unilocal’s check-in offer was a free beer or wine. I showed the offer to a Manager and though he stated that the offer expired well over a month ago, he was totally game to give me a glass of my choice. Sucks for me that I was on lunch from work as I would have definitely grabbed a bottle for later. Habachi staff were pleasant and the Manager was super nice. Prices are to be expected for the area. I’m a fan.

I have been to U Way three times in the past few weeks. The first time I ordered the chicken chipotle sandwich. By golly that was a damn good sandwich. Delicious avocado and real chipotle pepper. Nice kick to it. So. Good. The second and third times I went I got a completely different sandwich. No avocado, the cheese was different. One of the times it wasn’t even spicy. U Way is not consistent. In addition, the deli guys are total creeps. Can’t a girl just buy a sandwich without getting harassed? Three stars for that unforgettable first sandwich.

The bimbimbap was in a plastic container so my meal got cold before I ate it. Basically everything in this place is plastic, containers, forks, spoons, bags… The place looks cool but the use of plastic is just crazy…

I went in there for the union square chicken wrap. I told the guy no cheese. He repeated to me, no cheese? And said okay so he clearly heard me. Why was it that a few minutes later, he ended up putting cheese on my wrap? Oh, it’s probably because he was too busy joking around with the other guys behind the counter. Their customer service in general is not great. The woman at the cashier wasn’t very friendly and barely greeted me but more so gestured to me to ring up my items. What a crappy exchange! They are getting two stars instead of one because I have had worse service elsewhere and the wrap was good BUT with all of the other gazillion good options in NYC, why spend your money here dealing with people that don’t really want to be there *especially* when they are dealing with your food? If you ask me, take your money elsewhere!

C’mon guys, get your act together! I ordered six sandwiches for office delivery today and the girl who took my phone order was a total space cadet since apparently none of what I said — simple as it was — made it into the order. I very clearly told her my office address and business name just to have the delivery guy get lost because this wasn’t relayed to him. That and the fact that the Grilled Chicken Asagio sandwiches I asked for just came as dry slices of grilled chicken between soggy bread with NOTHING else on them!!! No cheese, lettuce, tomato or mayo like the description says. What gives? The waters I asked for were also missing from the delivery but they didn’t charge us at least. I’m really annoyed and will never call upon U Way for my client lunches again. They need to pull their heads out of their rear ends and instead of hiring surly kids who don’t give a crap — maybe try hiring people who pay attention and communicate effectively. /rant

I come in for lunch nearly 3 times a week since it’s close to my office and I like the salads. I tried to get over the rude service at the counter but it’s consistent. The same three girls normally work the checkout and are very rude. My last straw was… Well over a straw. I ordered an iced coffee and was given a broken straw that’s was half open. When I asked if I can have a different straw they didn’t even look at me and said that’s all they had. I doubt that’s all they had. They just didn’t want to get more straws. I just took my food and left. Vowing never to return again. The food isn’t worth tue shitty attitudes you get at the checkout counter.

The nondescript deli that once occupied this space has given way to this sleek, brightly lit lunchtime monstrosity. They are offering nearly everything anyone would ever want to eat for lunch: sandwiches, salads, soups, sushi, hibachi, noodles, pastas… they’ve even got locally brewed craft beer on tap.* With so many options and stations to be manned, there are accordingly staff people EVERYWHERE. Each food station has at least two people, there are three or four inefficient cashiers that — if you can excuse the stereotype — one Korean woman could out-pace easily. And most days they even have two people greeting folks at the door. Perhaps the huge staff is why everything is about $ 1 – 2 more expensive than it should be. I, for one, would sacrifice the half-hearted hello I received at the door to save that dollar, but I don’t think that’s how business works. In any case, I tend to hit Uway up for the same reason I went to their predecessor: salad. As far as I can tell, having sampled a bit of most things, this is the best option here. The ingredients are fresh and the choices plentiful, the guys working there are efficient, and they even use some sort of medieval torture device to chop up your salad before mixing it up. Even if the salads weren’t tasty(they are, and they better be, since you’re designing them yourself), it’s worth a trip just to watch them go to town with that thing. ______________ *My office frowns upon me drinking during the day, but I think you should go for it.

I gave U Way a two star because initially I thought it was going to be more of pub/bar. When you come in it is bright! It gives the impression that it is a healthy restaurant. The food was great, they have an open bar, which is why it clashed for a moment and it was a little hard to figure out what they want to do with the place. In regards to the service, the service was ‘OK’ I have to give it to the fact that they’re new. Go ahead and give it a try. They have a lot to offer from, sushi, burgers, salads, health menus, real foods, and the open bar! The place is designed to have a lot of people gather but I don’t think it is designed for the night life.

RIP Valentino’s. After the water main burst under 5th Ave earlier this winter, this entire side of the street had been shut down. In Valentino’s place, this overpriced and underwhelming place came in. Disappointing to say the least. PRICES: I’m a regular consumer of a no frills regular old deli sandwich, and the excuse for a deli sandwich that I got(see below) cost almost $ 9. That’s highway robbery! The exact same sandwich cost $ 6.50 when this place was Valentino’s. FOOD: the ridiculous price MIGHT be excusable if it was a killer sandwich. But it wasn’t. In fact, it was one of the worst sandwiches that I’ve had. The roll was dry and clearly not remotely fresh. There was barely any turkey on it, and even the lettuce tasted like it’d been sitting there for a few days. This place sacrifices quality and competitive prices for flashy tv screen menus and stainless steel finishes. No thanks.

This place has gone under a MAJOR face lift. Looks really nice. It used to be Valentino’s(which i loved for breakfast). I had very high expectations for Uway. Those were crushed within 3 minutes. I ordered beef Ramen. After placing my order, they could not get my receipt to print so I was directed to another cashier. 3 people in front of me and 10 minutes later, I paid for my food. I head back to the pickup counter and they JUST start to make my food.(the place was not busy at all.) So I wait another 7 minutes for my order. I open my soup and it is BRIGHT red. I did not order it spicy and oddly enough, it wasnt spicy at all. Hmmm. There was 3 pieces of beef in my order. The soup had absolutely NO flavor at all. I added 5 packets of soy sauce to get it to something I could taste. After eating about ¼ of it, it went in the trash. I am giving it 2 stars(for now). I expect to return and try other things. Some stuff looked very good.
