AHHHH!!! AMAZING! So many options I could go here every freaking day. I just wish they had BBQ sauce. The little salad is not really worth being there… give me 10% more topping and loose the salad.

Great idea! I love baked potatoes! I mean who doesn’t? I had one of the salad potatoes which I say skip. It was good, but not together. The menu is incredible so I’m not sure what I was thinking ordering the über boring and healthy item on the menu. Next time its: Sweet Potato goodness!

1 potato, 2 potato, 3 potato — oh sheesh — JUSTGETINMYBELLY! ALLOFYOU! Ker and I discovered this little gem this afternoon and what’s more perfect on a cold, blowy day than a hot potato? I guess maybe eating it under a cozy duvet whilst watching daytime TV but I digress. Super clean, and aesthetically pleasing digs. Sidle up to the counter and you can pick either some of their suggested combos: buffalo chicken, clam chowder, pulled pork, spicy beef chili, broc and cheddar and many more OR you can pick your own combo. They also have potato/salad combos that Ker opted for which is a smaller potato next to a whole mess of greens. Also comes in an adorable cardboard box(guess who’s a sucker for packaging?!) with a separate side salad if you order the big tater(like moi). I do agree that $ 10 bucks for a potato is a little on the hefty side, but it was a pretty filling meal. They also have other tasty options like sweet potato gelato or potato leek soup(sensing a theme here?) that I definitely want to come back and try. Makes a nice option to your standard sandwich or fast food lunch fare.

My girlfriend loves baked potatoes, and any time we are in the city, I know I can make her happy by coming to this place. Don’t be fooled by the folks complaining about paying $ 7 for a baked potato, the potato happens to be the medium these guys work in, but the ingredients are of very high quality, and the food is very consistent(we’ve come in a few times over the weekend, it’s always been at the same standards). It’s a very good place for lunch, but as noticed by other Unilocalers, they need slightly longer hours for a late night crowd.

Totally stumbled into this place and(as a lover of ALL things potatoes) I was in heaven… a place that dedicated themselves to baked POTATOES!!! Super cute design and logos — very clean and modern. Love the potato graphic w/steam coming out of it. Sketches of potatoes framed and dot the walls — nice touch. Mr. Potato Heads for sale — awesome! Classic(chive, sour cream, applewood smoked bacon and cheddar): served in the cutest cardboard gift box-esque container w/a side of greens. The main event is a baked potato w/a hole cut out w/the above toppings. Looks can be deceiving as the potato itself doesn’t look too intimidating, but once you get in there, you’re afraid that you’ll never make it to the end… There was barely any bacon, and overall I’d have to say that I’d prefer more toppings. Towards the end, I was left w/a dry potato… Not itching to go back… but would probably request extra toppings next time if I do… Note: they’ve got a Truffle(truffle compound butter, truffle oil, truffle salt and fresh truffle shavings) baked potato… if only I were RICH, I’d get this…

I work directly across the street, and I love this new eatery. My only and #1 beef with Totally baked is that they change how they prepare the items each time. It is a very new place, and I know they are still trying to figure it out, but stuff changes every time. I got spicy chili the first time and it has sour cream, the next time it didn’t, the time after that I asked for sour cream, and it was 50 cents more. The next time they added this mashed potatoe filling before putting to toppings. Which I really didn’t like, and wasn’t there before. I just want some consistency so that I can ask for exactly what I want. So totally baked… stay still and I might start to really like you.

We’ve ordered some baked potatoes for lunch at the office from this place several times. But that’s really the only time you’ll be enjoying these spuds. They have ridiculous hours, closing at 4 or 5 in the afternoon. How are they paying rent? They should at least be open later on the weekends. Just sayin’.

This is some kickass brisket. It’s $ 10 for an order of brisket. But it’s not just brisket. It comes with a side salad, and the most unique aspect, the gravied chunks of brisket comes served atop a baked potato. How awesome is that? Brisket always makes for a good topping. The side salad was good, and the spud was decently edible. However, the star of the show remains the tender chunks of gravy-coated brisket. These were tender chunks of beef that would break apart if you were too aggressive with the fork. The beef chunks were a good combination of meat and fat. A bonus on top of all this goodness would be the nice flavor imparted by the grilled exterior. This is such a unique brisket experience I’ll definitely be back for seconds and thirds. If you take your order to go, you’ll get your baked spud boxed up in a nice little cardboard lunch box. Be warned though, the salad also comes(placed directly) inside the cardboard box.

Yet another restaurant devoted to one food item: baked potatoes. Anyone who is a potato fan should not pass this place up. It is a casual fast food style place, and focuses on the lunch crowd, closing at 6pm many days. It was clean, and the woman who helped us was especially friendly and helpful. There were huge pictures of potatos on the wall, and Mr. Potato Heads for sale. The potatoes are served with small side salads in over-sized cardboard boxes with plastic utensils. We could not afford the $ 55 truffle baked potato, so we had to settle for $ 10 choices. For this amount of money, we still expected a good sized portion of potato. However, the potato was small. There were ample toppings on each. I tried the wild mushroom(of course) which included chanterelle, shitake, oysters and crimini with shallot, chive, and manchego cheese. I wished for more cheese, but was very pleased with the variety of mushrooms and the overall taste of the potato. Clark enjoyed his potato with grilled rosemary skirt steak, caramelized shallots and blue cheese. The steak was tender and it was a delicious combination. We’ll go back when we can afford the truffled potato(not likely).

Slightly pricey, but awesome. Potatoes are great. I had some wild mushroom potato thingy with cheese that was amazingly good, and given the fact I had crazy allergies and could barely taste, that’s saying something. Some day I will drunkenly buy the truffletato.

Baked potatoes? Who knew you could have a restaurant devoted to just that? I couldn’t wait to try it. For a $ 10 tater, I was expecting something the size of a football. But sadly, these potatoes are regular sized, if not tiny. The dollar goes to the packaging(a really sturdy cardboard box). It pained me to throw away the container. I came for dinner after work and before a concert. I had some time to kill and what better way to kill than over a starch pile hopefully loaded with butter, chives and bacon bits. The menu is pretty awesome. You can get buffalo chicken, nacho, chowder, steak, cheese, etc potato. Forget the butter and bacon. I wanted something different. I asked for the rosemary skirt steak and they were out of it. So I took the next best thing: the brisket. What a good choice! The brisket was soft and had loads of gravy. It paired well with the potato which was dug out and filled with the meat. The surprise was that the potato came with a side salad. A well rounded meal I tell ya. Service is very friendly at Totally Baked. The staff kept asking me how I was and if I liked the food. They seem to take pride in how fresh and made to order it is. They even waited on me. The restaurant is clean and spotless. There are cartoon drawings on the wall and Mr. Potato Heads for sale. I was really surprised that Totally Baked closes at 7PM. It was really early and then the lights dimmed. Good thing I finished dinner early otherwise I would have had to take my potato to go. It’s good. Nothing out of this world. $ 10 bucks is kinda steep but the meat was probably worth about $ 4. I doubt I will return.

Who knew potatoes are in. They had potatoes, potatoes and more potatoes. If you are not watching your carbs, you should definitely try this place. They had a large variety of toppings for your wonderful baked potato, from the classic to broccoli cheddar, spinach, buffalo chicken(the one that I tried and loved it!), spicy beef chili and cape cod chowder. Not forgetting their dessert, can we say GE-LA-TO!!! Sweet potato pecan pie, at first it sounded gross, but after the sample I was hooked, it is a must try.

Eh… it was only ok. Even though its an assembly line set-up, similar to Subways or Chipotle, customization is a challenge. For example, you can’t ask for chili and mushrooms because that combination is neither on their present menu of creations nor is the chili one of the make your own options. So despite the fact that the chili was right next to the mushroom container, it took an additional 3 minutes to figure how in the world they were going to be able to fill my order. At first they insisted that I take their chili potato(or whatever the call it) but I explained that I can’t eat cheese or sour cream so that wasn’t an option. I asked, can they charge me for that chili potato but instead of all the other toppings put mushroom… blank stare. Mind you, I could have easily paid $ 2 for a chili and baked potato at Wendy’s(for a larger potato at that!) but clearly I was intent on having mushrooms too and that unfortunately is not on the Wendy’s menu. So I spent the extra $ 6.50 for the mushrooms. I would have given them 4 stars for overall taste but even after that whole explanation to the counter girl — my potato came with cheese on it. I had to take away two stars for the time, aggravation and overall cost. On a plus, their stools are surprisingly comfortable.

Saw a review of this place on Fox Five News the other night(when did they start doing reviews?) Of course they were sent the $ 55 truffled laden baked potato to try and comment on. Unfortunately my wallet was not feeling quite that fat, but had to give this place a shot. The baked potato’s start at $ 7 for the classic and work their way up – usually in the $ 10 or $ 11 price range — for a potato covered in such yummy goodness as brisket, steak, chili, etc. or even build your own. I was debating between the brisket and the steak — I only went with the steak because the brisket didn’t come with cheese(and I wanted cheese). Honestly, I was not expecting quality in this product — I was thinking that I would get strips of minute steak or something, but much to my surprise, there were chunks of steak(apparently sliced when ordered so its not laying around getting dry), covering this potato. .. and it WASQUALITY meat too, which was very nicely seasoned or/and marinated. It was topped with carmelized onions and maytag blue cheese. Damn it was good and surprisingly so – to the point where I think I got quality for my dollar. The cardboard bento type box that it came in was a very cute idea and it included a small green salad with a tasty dressing. Give this place a shot — it is a quick meal, with quality product and makes for a good lunch. It will be even better when the weather gets better and you can take it to go and enjoy it in nearby Union Square. And if anyone is curious, as of the time of the writing of this review, I was told by the manager of Totally Baked that since opening their doors, they had sold about 20 of the $ 55 Truffle Baked Potatos.

The two absolute best things about this place is the box the potato comes in with the little divider for salad and the original Mr. Potato Head commercial drawings on the wall. Very cool! All in all, this is a good attempt to take a side dish and bring it to the forefront. I tried the brisket with marsala wine sauce which was pretty delicious but I wish the sauce was thicker and not so oily. It did a poor job of tenderizing the potato for chomping. A dry potato is… well…a dry potato. All in all though it was a good meal and I look forward to trying the other varieties like chili and the sweet potato deserts.

March 31st=Potato Day! After eagerly anticipating the opening of Totally Baked all weekend, potato day has finally arrived! My coworker and I heard about the opening of this potato bar right around the corner from our office when approached by two Totally Baked employees who were handing out samples of their Sweet Potato Heath Bar Crunch gelato(yes, it’s as good as it sounds, but I’ll get to that in a moment…) So on the day of their grand opening we walk into the already crowded establishment for lunch(they had only been open for an hour). My coworkers and I were instantly greeted by one of the managers who escorted us to the end of the line and the self-proclaimed«meat and potatoes» guy gave us a few of his recommendations(Steak(skirt steak, shallots, Maytag Blue Cheese) and Brisket(brisket in a marsala wine reduction)). He also pointed out the Veggie Chili and Buffalo Chicken potatoes. It should be noted that the menu is comprised(obviously) of all things potato and is broken up into favorites(hot potatoes), fresh(like salads in a carved out potato), soups(potato leek or sweet potato) and gelato(sweet potato, sweet potato heath bar crunch, and sweet potato pecan pie). They also feature a $ 55 truffle potato(which, despite my tendencies to splurge, I skipped out on) and sweet potatoes. I finally selected a potato feast fit for the princess I believe myself to be – Potato Leek Soup($ 4.50), Brisket Potato($ 10) and Sweet Potato Heath Bar Crunch gelato($ 4.50). After placing my order I was waiting around for my number to be called when my coworkers and I were approached by another Manager who asked us about what we ordered(one coworker opted for the Mushroom(chanterelle, shitake, oyster, and crimini mushrooms with shallots and chives and shaved manchego cheese)($ 10), while the other created her own potato which included goat cheese, scallions, and wild mushrooms(see Mushroom potato description)($ 7)). After waiting for a few minutes my order number was called, but I was disappointed to hear from the cashier that they were out of the Sweet Potato Heath Bar Crunch gelato. While waiting a bit longer for my coworkers, the second manager I met checked in with me again and after I mentioned that they were out of the Sweet Potato Heath Bar Crunch gelato he said that they weren’t and ran off into the kitchen to retrieve the gelato! After getting back to the office and delving into our decadent potato feast, my coworkers and I found that Totally Baked lived up to our high expectations. While I thought the potatoes were a little smaller than I anticipated, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they came with a small mixed greens salad with balsamic vinaigrette. The marsala wine reduction on the Brisket was especially tasty and the brisket itself was very tender. The Potato Leek soup was smooth, onion-y and piping hot. And then there’s the gelato… Oh…My…God… It tasted like a frozen sweet potato pie with chocolate-y bits of heath bar. I only finished polishing it off a moment ago and I’m still craving more… All in all, my first trip to Totally Baked certainly won’t be my last. Yes, it’s a little pricey for what some would consider a glorified side dish… but the food was very satisfying and tasted particularly good on a cold, rainy day like today.

I also ate here at its grand opening this afternoon. I ordered the classic to take out. There was a small line when I arrived and I ended up waiting for 7 minutes for my baked potato with chives, sour cream, cheddar cheese and bacon bits. It was a tasty spud, but when I attempted to cut it and take my first bite, the skin appeared to be too tough. I decided to hold the entire potato and take a bite out of it, which proved to be messy eating, but worked. The toppings were tasty, but it was more the flavor of the whopping sour cream than anything else. The cheddar shreds were a bit disappointing. I would have liked them to be melted and a bit sharper. Also, the salad beneath could have been more generous of a helping for a $ 7 lunch. The managers and staff were friendly and greeted each customer. I hope that they will improve the speed of their service as it gets busier.

Another example of a fad restaurant that will have some nutty success. That is until people realize you’re paying close to $ 10 for a potato that’s barely the size of a clenched fist. I’m honestly not too sure how long this place will last. I came here 5 minutes into the Grand Opening of the establishment with some fellow foodie co-workers and was pleasantly greeted and directed to the lengthy line. Clearly this was just for the grand opening and given that cue I’m a little skeptical of how friendly and how long those smiles upon the workers’ faces will remain come a month. I had the Cape Cod Chowder & Buffalo Chicken potatoes which came out to a total of $ 20. Both were tasty although I found the balance in terms of flavor to be a little better with the chowder. I also had a taste of my co-worker’s sweet potato dessert potato. That I must say was brilliant and extremely tasty. The décor is perfectly suited with muted earth tones and browns which ties in with the whole potato theme. They even have some original drawings from the animated Mr Potato Head commercial from the 70’s. I have a feeling the well crafted cardboard take out boxes won’t last long as I’m sure they cost a pretty penny. Overall, I didn’t find the potatoes so spectacular that I’d make a return trip. Especially with the price tag at what it is. I also hope they improve and streamline their order process as it was a bit slow for getting just a baked potato. In fact with all the number calling there were many patrons who just couldn’t hear. This place is just one of those either you like it or you don’t. After all the«this is cool», «wow nice looking establishment», «that’s a neat logo» comments and feelings wear off, I’m not sure I’d ever return. If you’re going to try it, I’d recommend just getting the dessert sweat potato and skipping on the others.

Though I was skeptical about paying so much for a baked potato, I have to admit the brisket potato was pretty darn good, not sure it was $ 10 good though. Basically you are paying for the ingredients — the potato itself was nothing special. It did come with a tiny side salad, so I can pretend that I ate healthy. Overall it’s hard to say its worth the price tag… but i’m sure i’ll be back. The potato comes in a sturdy box even if you are eating in — they should change that. I dare someone to try the Truffle Potato for $ 55
