great diner. super fast and really good food. the people were really nice, and this restaurant is great if you’re looking for that quintessential diner experience. the menu was pretty detailed and bad a wide selection of options. the club sandwich i ordered took them five minutes to make and it was indeed delicious. i would totally recommend this diner to anyone looking for a quick and tasty meal.

Terrible service, generic food. You know the food isn’t fresh when you have a menu this big. Pro tip, DONOT try the philly cheese steak sandwich.

I am giving this place 3 stars because the service was not great and I had to ask a couple of times just to get water at my table. Nonetheless, the food was good and portions are so large!

According to their prices and meal sizes this diner thinks it’s a 5 star upper east side restaurant… And the quality of the food is comparable to fast food! Don’t even try to ask for a simple add on to your dish. Everything is premade… We ordered chocolate chip pancakes and were assured that the change is okay. Instead we received regular pancakes with chocolate sprinkles on top which they wanted to charge us 3 dollars extra. This was the worst diner I’ve been so far!

This is a bona fide 5 star diner in midtown. Not an overpriced schlocky tourist trap that calls itself a diner, but a living, breathing, true blue, no frills diner. Amazing.
My criteria for diners, all of which are exceeded by Red Flame: 1. is it clean enough that I don’t feel skeeved touching the plastic menus 2. are the cheeseburgers decent to good 3. is the service fast, accurate and impersonal-to-curt(because a diner is meant for quick, strike force-like dining and dashing, not a 3 hour brunchathon, pouring over the Times with your schmoopy) 4. are the breakfast staples(eggs, pancakes, hash browns) good to very good 5. when I order diet coke and they bring me the inevitable substitute for diet coke, does the alterna-diet coke taste good If your criteria are like mine and you find yourself in the area, Red Flame is your place.

Cool vintage vibe diner. Nothing fancy but good food decent prices. Omelette with potatoes is yummy. Also French toast was good. Cereal in a box! You can cut it open and pour the milk in. Relive your childhood

This diner is a must go to if you are in town for the weekend or need a breakfast place that is not hip or Trendy & you’re staying midtown or uptown, and gets right to the point. n New York breakfast/brunch can become an event all in itself, ie expensive. There are even places to go that the food is only mediocre but it has become so trendy that everyone wants to be there for breakfast/brunch. People who would normally never wait for a table at a restaurant shiver in the cold for an hour at these happening spots. Even the most dingy unspectacular pubs open up on Sunday mornings to serve scrambled eggs to bleary-eyed hipsters. If you’re looking for that this place is not for you — red flame diner has all of the diner morning breakfast regulars of course, their food comes out fast and furious and is fantastic. They even have those shredded hashbrowns that I personally love, as opposed to the roasted potatoes. So if you’re just in town and not looking to spend a fortune on breakfast, & want to get out and go explore for the day, this is the place for you. Sunday morning at 8:30 it starts to get crowded, so you may have to wait a few minutes, but they do turnover tables fast. I would save my money on going to a fantastic dinner spot — why waste $ on pancakes or eggs at a trendy brunch place where you’ll spend a fortune?

Good spot just by Times Square, food was really nice especially the omelettes but service was a little poor, I found the front desk people quite rude and arrogant but food was overall great !

The staff at the Hyatt Times Square directed me to The Red Flame as a place to eat breakfast. The place was pretty busy on a cold weekday morning, but I managed to get a table for one immediately. Ordered their Eggs Corned Beef Benedict — which is basically run-of-the-mill canned corned beef over English muffins with eggs and Hollandaise sauce, plus a side of breakfast potatoes. The English muffins were under toasted. As in almost untoasted. I basically scraped off the hash and eggs and pushed the English muffins to the side and ate the eggs and corned beef hash. The breakfast potatoes tasted like nothing. They needed something — seasoning big time. I ignored the potatoes as well after tasting them. Coffee was good. Service was good.

I ate here twice during my stay nearby. Once I had takeout, a club sandwich and French fries. It was very good. I walked in and ordered and they were very quick and friendly. They didn’t mind is standing there and waiting. The sandwich had very fresh ingredients and their French fries were perfect! The second time I had breakfast around 8am on a Sunday. Again, they were very quick. The food was fresh and hot and made to order. The waitress was nice and the restaurant was very clean.

I seriously love this dinner-but had to knock off a star for service, otherwise hands down 4 stars!!! You can either grab a seat at a booth or at the counter. If you are over 6 feet tall, a booth for two may be a bit cramped(the hubby and I found the booths to be snug), we wish we would have sat at the counter. Althought, we really did enjoy our nice window seat where we sipped our coffee and people watched on a rainy day. Service at the beginning was quick, getting our coffee and food was quick. We ordered a soup and grilled cheese. Both were really good-hit the spot comfort food! The pickle that came with the grilled cheese was delish… if you are a pickle lover, ask for extra-so good! On to the service, no refils for coffee, sat there, eyed our waiter, made eye contact, he never came over to us to refil our drinks or asked if we wanted anything else. Noticed he sat a lot in a corner booth with what looked like the manager and another waiter. He did not come back until we had our jackets on waiting at the cash to pay. I felt really bad for the waiter, because he looked very tired, but he totally neglected our table. I still recommend, as they serve up a good cup of coffee, but you may need to pull a Wolf of Wall Street with the servers«every five minutes, I want you to refill my coffee!» lol, joking!

It’s good to find a good ol home style diner in the middle of all the hustle of Times square. This place is not only good but affordable. My husband and I needed a quick bite to eat before catching our flight back home. This place was right around the corner from our hotel. We have a our favorite spots for breakfast when staying in Manhattan, this will be added to our list. The service was quick and the food was great. If your looking for a nice breakfast place this is a good choice.

Massenabfertigung. Alles muss schnell gehen, damit Wartende den nächsten freien Tisch bekommen. Essen war schlecht gewürzt und die Bedienung nicht grade motiviert und freundlich. Einmal reicht. Muss ich nicht nochmal haben.

The Red Flame is a diner lover’s diner. Many claim it’s the best diner in NYC. I’m not diner-educated enough to know if that’s true, but I’m definitely a fan. If there’s a line, don’t let it scare you off. This place is efficient. Solid food. Great breakfast or brunch spot to start your full day of NYC adventures.

Decent diner to grab a bite after seeing a show on Broadway. A bit pricey but clean with fast service. Food is OK and gets the job done. Seems like this place was renovated recently. Plenty of seating with a décor that is a bit old school retro. As with most diners has a large menu of options. Pretty classic list of diner foods. Ok egg white omelet and my coffee cup was constantly filled. Not much else to say. I was starving after seeing Hedwig and the Angry Inch and needed to fuel up. Served it’s purpose.

Great place, loved the location. Lots of waitresses standing in the diner ready to serve you and refill your cup o coffee. I tried their eggs with bacon and sausage, tasty, I liked it. The coffee is good, on the menu they say that is a coffee they brew themselves, judging by the taste it seems to be true. As «dessert» I ordered the pancakes with maple syrup and butter. Loved it. Gotta try this diner.

This is a classic, no-frills diner experience. You get what you order, you get it(very) quickly and it will not change your life, but won’t ruin it either. The bacon, egg and cheese I ordered was good — again, nothing special. My husband ordered an omelet and enjoyed it, though like many Unilocalers said the potatoes were bland and not very good at all. In fact, the highlight for us was a shared yogurt bowl with granola and berries bowl. Huge portion, fresh and delicious. I’d go back.
