Expensive but expected since it’s a diner in Times Square. The staff was so nice and really got things out quickly. Food is great and their burgers are A+. Super cozy atmosphere and rustic feel.

Very cramped(can they fit anymore tables in) greeter and wait staff miserable. Waited 20 minutes for order to be taken. Food arrived but still waiting for drinks. Cheeseburger deluxe was awesome. Split pea soup not so great. Would not visit again.

If you are looking for a good simple place in the Theater District this is it. I am embarrassed to say that after eating in this district for decades, I never tried this restaurant out. Perhaps it was the name that made me believe it was for shakes and burgers? The dishes here appeal to a wide group of tastes from beyond hamburgers and shakes from salads to chicken, steak, pasta and fish. The selection appeals to a wide variety of tastes. You really can’t go wrong. Great place for the family and those on a budget.

Came in last night for dinner and was very happy with our dinner– chicken pot pie and pastrami on rye. The portions were huge and we only ate maybe ¼ of it. Very tasty and spot on. Service was great. We enjoyed the NY cheesecake a lot! So since dinner was a hit we figured let’s go back for breakfast– very disappointing. We aren’t into frufru foods and couldn’t get a simple egg breakfast with bacon, eggs, hash browns and white toast. They do not serve hash browns nor white or wheat toast. They are in the pricey side but we didn’t mind for dinner because we really enjoyed even though we only ate a ¼ of our dinner. Breakfast would have been better at gold olé McD’s

This was my second time visiting the Brooklyn Diner and once again I left satisfied. Today around 3pm. I decided to grab a late lunch. When I walked in I was greeted by a dapper gentleman. I’m assuming he was the manager on duty. He was very polite and welcoming. My server was pleasant but the manager on duty did outshine him… With every course the manager checked in and made sure everything was to my liking. At the end of my dining experience he saw me packing up my left over Mac and Cheese.(which was amazing by the way) and offered to do it for me. At first. I declined but he insisted. His hospitality was very much appreciated. In a city like New York… stellar service is most definitely hard to come by.

So I agree with Jay K, I don’t know why such a low score? Perhaps it’s because people are expecting a true diner vs an upscale diner? One can only say — I had great service & great food! This was actually. Welcome dinner tonight, being here for work means lunches and dinners in the office. The bacon cheeseburger was spot on and the fries were great — and I’m not a fry guy! I brought back to the room the house dessert of noodle kugel made into an amazing sundae! I think everyone should try this place when in the city!

Not sure how this place only has a 3 star rating. I am a very tough critic and I am giving 5 stars. As far as diners go, this place is basically as good as it gets. Not your typical NYC diner, where one is basically the same as the next — and all are mediocre. This diner has a menu and food quality that is a step above. It’s also a much nicer diner to sit in and enjoy a meal. We went with the cheeseburger which was delicious and cooked perfectly. Also had the Hot Pastrami Ruben which was also delicious. I’ve had hot pastrami at some of NYC’s best jewish delis — and this was right up there with the best of them Very good meal

I just ate here with my family for breakfast and we waited 20 minutes to order then 40 minutes for our food. The pancakes tasted disgusting as well as the other food. The service was awful and to top it off it was super expensive for a disappointing result! I do not recommend eating here you’d rather eat at ihop it’s ten times better tasting and quicker.

I have the chicken blt and added onion to it. It was really good. Vickie had the chicken pot pie and it was out of this world and Ashleigh had the Brooklyn Diner Cheeseburger and it was really good too. We wanted a slice if the cheesecake but didn’t have any room left. Definitely recommend this place.

I was with my boyfriend in the city and i was looking for an affordable place to eat. I saw dinner and I assumed it would be affordable. Worst mistake ever. This place was really pricey for a diner. However, it was a nice and well decorated diner. The service was good and the hot chocolate was so good! However, $ 10 for pigs in a blanket? What? Way too much and $ 9 for soup? They are way overpriced

So disappointing! People we know highly recommended this place. Came here on a Sunday at 11am, to find out they stopped serving breakfast already. What?! Really?! The host said we can order bacon and eggs only. So we did and waiter was mad at us about it. So we told him the host told us, then he proceeded to go and yell at host. Wtf?! 20 minutes later(after we reminded waiter of our drink order) we received our coffee and water… Both in dirty glasses. Eggs came with some Ragu tomato paste. Yuck. Asked for pepper and they came with pepper grinder as we were finishing our meals. Ummm no, we don’t need pepper on an empty plate or on the tomato paste. During our meal, Waiter said they ran out of OJ(that was ordered about 30 minutes prior) then a minute later, someone brought us OJ. What?! Don’t waste your time or your money!

From the moment you walk in you feel like an important customer. The maitre D and all the managers are just wonderful! The servers genuinely want to make sure you are happy. We all ordered various burgers. Amazing! Some of the best burgers we have ever had! The fries were clearly from freshly cut potatoes and the perfect crispness. We had the chocolate pudding pie for dessert. It was so great and had little chocolate crunches on it too! You can make reservations here which on a Saturday is a must. Very accommodating and even though they are busy you never feel crowded or rushed. I would definitely come back again.

We saw the diner on way to theater & said we would eat there after show. The menu is limited & very pricey. I know this is NY but still very high for diner food. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana & got 3 small pieces and some salad. I did not see where menu said salad because I would not have ordered. After eating my 3 small pieces guess what I am still hungry. The server came over & I expressed my disappointment in the amount of eggplant & that I was still very hungry. The eggplant was delicious but if you don’t eat salads like me you will be hungry. It should have come with bread or something. The server said let me see what I can do. He came back & said would you like some pasta & I said yes. He brought me a good size bowl of pasta and it was so good. Maybe offering a choice of salad or pasta would be better.

I’ve always loved coming to the Brooklyn Diner. Up until this past Tuesday, I’ve only been to the 57th Street location. After seeing a show @ The Town Hall, my brother and I decided to come here for a late dinner. Times Square is not a favorite food destination of mine. Exorbitant prices, tourist traps and lackluster food. I knew coming into the Brooklyn Diner that it was going to be good, but It was actually fantastic! On first impression walking in, it’s much fancier than it’s sibling near Carnegie Hall. Super impressed by that. Diner really shouldn’t be in the name because there isn’t much there representing diner fare! Spotless and beautiful seating. Booths are nice, roomy and comfortable. I love how they have pink himalayan sea salt in the shakers! Our waiter and servers for the night were extremely attentive, sweet and helpful. Wish I could remember our waiters name because he was the best! As far as the food prices, yes, they are up there but to me it’s worth it because it’s delicious and quality food! The menu isn’t extensive and there aren’t many vegetarian options. Definitely a place for meat lovers! I must say that the veggie burger here is the most amazing veggie burger that I’ve ever experienced! Presentation was lovely. Served on a super soft Brioche bun. Oh my, this veggie burger! I can’t stop thinking about it. It had a lovely char on the outside. Good texture on the inside. You can tell it wasn’t filled with gluten, soy and tons of beans. Lots of fresh vegetables. Topped with the most heavenly guacamole and aioli. I honestly didn’t want the burger to end. The fries? Outstanding. Fresh cut potatoes with garlic and parsley. Loved every minute of them as well. My brother seemed to enjoy his fresh tuna burger as well. Came with a side of carrot slaw. Freshly julienned carrots with cranberries. Yum! Nothing like a nice Boylan’s soda to wash your food down with. They were out of black cherry. That’s no surprise being that it was almost midnight. Had the root beer which paired well. They have a fairly decent cocktail/beer/wine menu that I will try at next visit. The piece-de-resistance was most definitely the Chocolate Blackout Cake! They were out of the coconut and strawberry blonde cheesecake so we opted for that one and I’m so glad we did. Like heaven in your mouth! So fresh and delicious. Thick, rich and yummy chocolate ganache frosting on the inside and outside. Fresh whipped cream topping. It’s very heavy so make sure you have room for it! If you like good food, service and ambiance, definitely give this location a try. Can’t beat the easy public transportation access either! A block away from all of the Times Square subways.

*Yes I am a tourist, but that doesn’t mean that I have things to say* My mom and I looked for a place to eat that is local and away from the people in Time Square. So we found Brooklyn Diner. We went in and it seems to be semi fancy but casual, which I don’t mind at all(and it reminded me of a restaurant back home). Although I wanted to try there local beer, their draft beer broke down so I had to ordered bottle beer which its not a problem at all. The food was the best thing I’ve ever had! I ordered Chinese Chicken Salad, that looks authentic and has a lot of flavors that my mouth enjoyed the savoring taste. My mom has the Chicken Milanese and she said it was super good that I shared a piece, and it was crunchy on the outside, and very savoring! Waiters and I think the lady is a manager or something were very friendly and checking on us to make sure we’re okay. Although it was pricey, don’t matter because its one of our best lunch ever.

Recomendado.
