Extreme temperature imbalance made it difficult to enjoy my less than thrilling cup of Moroccan mint tea… which was by the way served in a diner style mug rather than a proper tea cup.

OVERPRICED. I had a salad and that was $ 18. Food isn’t all that great, it’s just the location and appearance that makes people want to come in. Food isn’t all that; I had breakfast and lunch there and the staff wasn’t observant at all. I made eye contact with several servers even the bartender to call the waitress and jack nothing happen.

Hi there, this is to all the victims /suckers that have been taken by this stablishment, what’s wrong with you people, can you not put 2 + 2 together. Let’s start with the length of time of the renovations, the«cash only policy» the documented horrifying accounts of patrons, the style of management, non existing staff training. The little and NOT so little writing on the walls, THISISNOT A RESTAURANT, BUT A MONEYLAUNDERINGOPERATIONPOSINGAS A RESTAURANT, THEJOKEISONYOU, HELLO, WAKEUP!!!

Food is always consistent and good. I usually get the corned beef and hash when I go for breakfast. Coffee is okay but not great. I like that they always give an orange slice with the food. Jazz is always good.

Can I say they have the most amazing pumpkin spice lattes, every-time I come to this place the service is great and food even better. I took my mother out for a lunch date and she was amazed on both the food and great service.

Only reason for the bad review is that it is 2016 and this place doesn’t take credit cards. Besides that, it’s amazing service, great happy hours, good food, great vibe, and comedy every Saturday.

Delicious food uptown! The house wine merlot was smooth and just right. The gnocchi was fresh and topped with a generous amount of mozzarella. Delish! The waiter was helpful with his pasta suggestion and totally agreed with him. A popular place that’s alive and rocking along Dyckman Street near Fort Tryon Park and the Cloisters. Diverse and friendly ambiance. Will be back again on one of my weekly trips to the Washington Heights/Inwood vicinity.

I feel a little conflicted writing this. I have been a regular customer of The Park View since 2013. Additionally, since moving to Inwood in September 2014, this place has become a staple for myself and the beau. Those nights when I haven’t felt like making dinner nor ordering take out have been rescued by The Park View and their wonderful grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, salads, and sizzling cast-iron platters of mac & cheese. The food is consistently good, the atmosphere is great, and the waitstaff is very friendly. Though, since I’ve been a regular customer, and despite being a very ardent fan, I’ve noticed some cracks in the façade. The service, as many have mentioned, can be slow, and I can certainly attest to it. Though, in my last few visits in October and November, for both dinner and brunch, I’ve seen an improvement. Brunch is worse than dinner, though. I took a friend there for brunch in November(her first visit), and we did not get menus for 10 minutes. We didn’t order until almost 25 minutes after we were seated. Our waitress told us to flag her down if we needed her, but she stayed perched behind the bar or near the food window in the rear, making it hard to get her attention. Our busboy was infinitely more attentive. On evenings when I’ve been here and the dining area has been roughly ¼ full, it’s still hard to get the attention of staff if they are near the kitchen or speaking to bar backs. They will chat for a bit. Also, consistency in looking at IDs needs to be solidified. I am of legal drinking age, 31 years old as of this moment in which I’m typing this.(Yes, I’ll proudly state my age! Ha!) However, I’ve been told I look much younger(…lucky me!) and almost always get IDed when buying liquor virtually anywhere I go. One night, two weeks ago, I ordered a drink with my dinner. The waitress looked at my driver’s license, which had expired a couple weeks prior. She declined me alcohol because she said it wasn’t considered a valid ID, though my birth date was displayed. You know what? Fair enough. I say that honestly and sans sarcasm. I was bummed I couldn’t get a drink, but certainly can’t be mad at a waitress for being diligent regarding legally serving alcohol. However, my boyfriend, who is 29, has been served alcohol here many times over the past few years. They have IDed him… and he has been served despite the fact that his ID has been expired since 2012.(After being sick a few years back, he hasn’t driven, so hasn’t been in a rush to renew it. Heh.) Granted, he looks much older than me despite being younger than me(…cruel fate? Haha…), but how come he can be served alcohol with an expired ID and I’m declined? In fairness to all patrons, I believe that the rule of not serving to patrons with invalid IDs needs to be enforced and consistent. I still go. I am still going to go. As mentioned, I’m consistently pleased by the food and the waitstaff has always been kind to me. They need to work on their actual service regarding… well…serving! There have been many times where I’ve felt irritated by the lack of it, but have always put on a kind face, because perhaps service is slow for reasons I am not understanding.(At least, I hope so.) Note: I have since had my license renewed, so I can drink here again. *WOOHOO* Hello again, hard cider cocktails! I’ve missed you!

Had breakfast here today when the ceiling of part of my apartment caved in and we had to get out for a while. Had an omelet platter and a side of sausage; really good quality through and through all and a good hefty portion size. Delicious meal. Service was polite and very attentive: water never close to empty, waiter let us know when he was taking a break and the name of who would take over for him. A well run place with a smallish menu doing the basics well, plus some good nice extra like the Mast Bros. hot chocolate which I look forward to trying.

I just read Ben E.‘s review. Yes, not too long ago I had a similar experience at the Park View regarding Park View’s Greek Salad containing(HORROR!) «lettuce». Being that I love to cook and often make Greek Salad at home, I too prefer to eat my Greek Salad without lettuce, however, that is not what 80% of the American public expects. So when I got my Greek Salad with«lettuce» here is what I did: I ATEIT. Not only did I eat the«lettuce» in my Greek Salad but upon payment, I smiled, I thanked the server, left a substantial tip, and left the Park View fully grateful that I was served a delicious meal made by people who are underpaid(as is the norm in the service industry). Here is the clincher: When I came back to the Park View, guess what I did? I ordered the Greek Salad WITHOUT«lettuce» and guess what? I got a Greek Salad WITHOUT«lettuce». Amazing! There was no need to insult the manager. There was no need to leave a measly tip and blame the server. There was no need to be rude to anyone. I loved my Greek Salad. Now, whenever I order a Greek Salad I always order it without lettuce and Park View always accommodates. … but Ben E. continues to rant that the«lettuce» in the Greek Salad is not mentioned on the menu. Well, neither is there mention of dressing or the wonderful stuffed grape leaves on the menu. the HORROR of that too! What about steakhouses that don’t list any of their ingredients on their menus? Acceptable or not? Of course, if Ben E. asked questions before he placed his order this would have helped alleviate the pain and suffering he experienced by having«lettuce» on his plate. I am writing this review just a couple of days after the terrorist attack upon Paris where hundreds of people lost their lives. Reading Ben E.‘s comments reminds me of the day after the 911 attacks on the World Trade Center. I was at a restaurant and a patron of the restaurant was horrified that the freshly shaved parmesan cheese that was served with his pasta was not shaved finely enough. The man, got up out of his chair, snapped his fingers at the server and demanded that the cheese be taken back and shaved more finely. The HORROR! The only horrifying thing to me in 2015 is how we all feel entitled to every whim or fancy without any regard to the people around us. How about this? Instead of walking into a restaurant and behaving as if(because we are paying for it) we should get whatever we want when we want it, how about treating restaurants and their staff as if we are walking into someone’s home where we are expected to act respectfully and gracefully? Perhaps I’m asking too much.

The service here was flat out terrible. Ten to fifteen minutes after our order was taken, the waiter came and asked what we had ordered. We patiently reminded him, and he said, «good, I already put it in.» Then I got my iced latte, which had curdled milk. Thankfully the waiter had them make another. Ok, busy day I thought. Then we sat and waited, and waited, and waited for our food. More than half an hour after initially ordering(sliders and a Greek salad, nothing complicated), I started noticing people who were seated after us getting their food. Eventually the waiter came over looking flustered and apologized, and said our food would be out soon. At this point it seemed as if he had never put our order in at all! Finally, after more than a 45 minutes wait, my daughter’s sliders came out. I asked the waiter if he actually had forgotten to put in our order, and sheepishly he admitted«busy day.» I told him that I didn’t appreciate being lied to. Then at least five minutes later my «Greek salad» came out. The only problem now was that the salad was mostly lettuce, but the description in the menu listed every ingredient but lettuce. It described a Greek peasant salad – tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, olives, feta. I asked the waiter for a menu, and indeed I was right. This was not what I ordered. I pointed this out to him, and he attributed it to being a typo. At this point I was starving and had waited almost an hour for a simple salad. I began to eat the salad, but since it wasn’t what I wanted, and the entire experience had been ridiculously bad, I asked to speak with a manager. Eventually a man came and starting off with a very aggressive tone, asked if I had a problem. I explained how our order was forgotten and took forever. He dismissed it, saying the waiter told him that maybe it was delayed it only five minutes. Then I explained that the salad was mostly lettuce, which was the one ingredient on the menu not listed. His reply was«do you expect us to list everything?» I pointed out that every other ingredient is listed, and other salads that have lettuce bases list mixed greens or romaine, so yes, I do expect it. His reply was that everyone knows that a Greek salad has lettuce. He told me to go to any restaurant and a Greek salad has lettuce. Infuriated by his ridiculous answers, I told him that many places serve a Greek peasant salad without lettuce, with the exact ingredients listed on his menu. He kept going, refusing to see the obvious point I was making until I told him it wasn’t worth arguing about if he can’t understand, and that I’ll just explain it on social media. His answer was, «what are you allergic to lettuce?» Wow. He did begrudgingly take the salad off the bill, but that wasn’t the point. Who needs to waste their time and money at a business like that?

After frequently enjoying Park View’s food via delivery, I took a friend who was visiting from Canada to Park View for brunch. She was less than impressed and couldn’t believe how abysmal the service was. –The initial host was dismissive and told us he couldn’t seat us when several tables were on their way to being opened up. We decided to wait for someone else to help us and she was able to find us a seat relatively quickly. –Water came out 20 minutes after we were seated. When we asked the waitress told us that there weren’t enough mugs in the restaurant– Huh?! –Coffee and tea came out later after the water – the coffee was cold and burnt. When we asked for a free refill we were told that the manager said«we don’t give things away for free» and that we couldn’t get another cup of drip coffee. After we expressed our discontent, the manager came over and reiterated this phrase(and telling us that he stood by not giving us a free refill even if we had to «wait 20 minutes» but agreed to refill the coffee since we said it was cold and burnt – after blaming this on the server. –Really shocking lack of care or strategy for customer retention. –Our bacon never came after we repeatedly asked for it over the course of an hour. Finally the server threw up his hands and admitted that someone else grabbed it and sent it to another table. –Our server was given way too many tables to handle and food was cold and subpar. Their delivery food is good but not available on the weekend. In person dining at Park View was not a good experience and I’m sad since they have some good food offerings. We felt disregarded and disrespected, and life is too short to pay for that kind of treatment.

I dont know why Ive taken so long to write a review when Ive already eaten here several times. It sucks that this write up is for a meal that wasnt very satisfying. Ive tried something different from their menu almost every time Ive gone but this is my first time getting their steak. While cooked the way I wanted, it was essentially flavorless. I wish it had been seasoned better or I should have asked for steak sauce.(Personally, I dont think a steak is good if it actually NEEDS sauce. I took the waitress’ advice and got the home fries instead of the french fries and they were actually good. Despite this minor mishap, I will be back because I have tried other dishes from their menu like their triple-decker blt and cuban sandwich and enjoyed them.

This is my second time coming for brunch and I wasn’t super pleased. The place is nice and their menu is great, but the service can improve. The first time the food took a while to come out and the second time my husband got the burger, asked for medium rare but it came out medium well. Also, the busboy is really slow! So you never get your water refilled. The waiters are good and apologize for the delays in everything, but they can definitely step up their game.

I was hoping this would be my go to spot for Brunch before heading to The Cloisters after a great first experience. But on my 2nd trip I had an overall HORRIBLE experience with the service. I ordered a simple Iced Coffee and Black Bean Egg Wrap for a party of 1. Did not receive Iced Coffee until 20min after I asked twice. I was informed that they had a glitch in their system so I did not get my food until 45min after initially placing my order. Oh, and I had to wait 10min for them to finally give me my change. So my «quick» brunch turned into a test of my patience. The food is good but it is definitely not worth the hassle of dealing with the employees.

This is a nice laid back place on the very busy stretch of Dyckman street. The food isn’t anything out of this world, but I enjoy sitting somewhere for a drink without being surrounded by hookah everywhere. Their brunch menu is pretty solid, typical omelets and sandwiches. In the summer they they open the big windows, so there’s lot of fresh air and a chill vibe. If you are looking for a chill spot within all the craziness that is around there, this is the place to go.

I dropped the ball and meant to write 2 separate reviews(for 2 separate meal visits), so this will be conglomerated into one. I had been curious about checking out the new Park View for a few years now(I had been a regular customer at their original location a few doors down years ago). I was a bit wary of them possibly having inflated their prices and removing old favorites from the menu, but I’m happy to report that that isn’t the case! The first time was for a weeknight dinner. I ordered my old favorite, the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with fries and it was just as tasty as I remembered! On top of that, the sandwich has gotten an unexpected upgrade, as it’s now served on olive bread(which I actually didn’t think I’d like/appreciate, but I totally did!). My friend ordered the Cubano with fries and raved about how good it was and that she couldn’t wait to go back and have it again. Later that week I went with another friend for brunch. I decided to splurge and order the White Sangria(which I had very low expectations for, since usually when I order white sangria it’s nowhere near as sweet as I’d hoped). I must say that it might be the best I’ve ever had stateside: it was sweet and refreshing for a hot day — I’m actually really looking forward to ordering it again! For food I ordered the French Toast with Bananas and a side of Turkey Bacon, all of which was sizable and delicious. My friend ordered the Pancakes with Strawberries and seemed to really enjoy that as well. All-in-all, both dining experiences were a definite win! The ambiance/décor is also a major upgrade from the original Park View and I’m so happy that as a customer we aren’t financing that upgrade per se(in terms of high prices). The staff was particularly friendly too, which is always a plus. In the end I was very pleasantly surprised and am looking forward to going back soon!

Great neighborhood spot! The coffee is awesome. I had a plain old latte but it was not plain at all! My date had a cortado and said it was rich and smooth. We ordered french toast that was very tasty and some eggs that were cooked perfect. The atmosphere is pleasant and frequented by locals. Its a gem for this neighborhood. I used to live here and the area has exploded with neat spots but this one is wonderful. I recommend this place for brunch!

My boyfriend and I wanted to grab a quick bite and had our mind set on another place when we came across The Park View. We quickly changed our minds and walked in. On first entering the place is very clean and inviting, the music is good and mellow for a Thursday afternoon. Over all: The Food — Good! I had the Brie, cheddar and apple grilled cheese with Tomato Basil soup. Great flavor to the sandwich. My boyfriend got the Crooque Monsieur. It was a little for my taste but he loved it. The Coffee– I loved my cappuccinos, he didn’t love his Mocha. Almond Croissant– delicious!!! The service– the bus boy was awesome and fast. The waiter seemed as if he didn’t want to be there. He rushed to take our order and didn’t really check in after the food was delivered. If come back for another grilled cheese and hope the same waiter isn’t there!
