I live nearby and was excited to have a potential new brunch spot in the neighborhood. The Jones are owned by the previous Eatery. The interior and bar looked cute. but when it came to the food, it was very bland and flavorless which came as a surprise after a «refined» menu. Still sad. Still looking for a delicious brunch spot in Hell’s Kitchen.

Great experience! Staff was wonderful, our waiter was extremely personable and was great at making suggestions! We tried the brussels sprouts, which our waiter suggested trying without and then w/a squeeze of lemon on. I never would have tried it w/lemon and it was DELICIOUS! I also ordered the Mac & Jack w/good intentions of eating half and taking half home… SO yummy — there was none to go home! ;) I would certainly go back and take friends for the experience!

We paid our first visit to The Jones last night. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent.(The«Burnt Brussels Sprouts» were particularly yummy.) We’ll be back.

While every new ventures has its growing pains in the beginning — this place has taken any prior reviews and has refocused it’s comments into a full service, high quality intimate dining experience — this foodie was very happy with all her meal selections !!!

What a major disappointment. Small, tight, and needlessly loud. Mediocre food and drink at its best. Welcomed with a statement, «Have a seat, we’ll treat you like a rockstar» — it had to be a joke because it went down hill from there. Despite having a bottled beer menu, there was NO bottled beer available — serving only what little selections they had on tap. The recommended Monkfish and Chips were a complete joke. Three little chopped pieces of fish that maybe equaled the weight and volume of a mini fish stick with a side of purple potato chips that probably came out of a bag. Oh, and thanks for telling me that grilled brussels sprouts or other side veggies were available — well AFTER our paltry meal was finished. Lastly Mr. Idiot Bartender — DONOT take my cocktail off the bar and dump it right in front of me when there was still some beverage in the glass. I wish Unilocal had zero stars for reviews. The Jones deserves just that. Can’t believe this place is run by the folks who ran the ever-popular Eatery.

The brunch menu is limited. Staff weren’t great. One of my friends orders came out wrong.

Came here for dinner last night. Was able to get a table for two right away, so it was nice not to have to wait. However, everything else went downhill from there. We ordered the Mac and cheese, fish tacos, and a side of sweet potato fries. The fries were OK, not crispy enough. The Mac and cheese was mediocre. The real let down were the fish tacos that I ordered. It was so overcooked that I couldn’t even cut into it. I ended up putting the fish to the side and eating the kale on the tacos and spent $ 20 for it. Also, the food took 25 minutes to come out(which probably explains the overcooked tacos). One of the most disappointing meals I’ve had living in NYC — save your money and go elsewhere.

I have been to the Jones a few times now and have been happy about it every time. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. The atmosphere is upscale but very welcoming. They have a couple of specialty cocktails that I have had that I really enjoyed. One is the Bloody Martini and the other is the Lumberjack. The Bloody Martini is perfect for when you want a bloody mary but want it to be a little more alcohol than tomato. The items that I have had for dinner that can’t be missed are the Thigh and Pie, the Forbidden Bleus, the Grilled Fish Tacos and the amazing Burnt Brussel Sprouts. The Brussel Sprouts have to be good since I don’t normally like them, but the parmesan and herb combo put these over the top. I look forward to making another visit there this weekend!

Went here for brunch on Sunday. The wait staff was very friendly, and when they made a mistake with our order, they were very gracious in fixing it. However, the quality of the food wasn’t great. I ordered the stuffed croissant french toast, and it didn’t really blow me away. My friend’s egg white omelette was similarly decent but not great. Solid and reasonably priced, but I’m not sure I would make The Jones one of my brunch staples in the city.

The reincarnation of Eatery, a Hell’s Kitchen staple, has finally opened. I no longer live in the neighborhood, but kept a look out on its progress as Eatery was favorite spot. Flash forward to The Jones: Kyle behind the bar was an absolute gem to chat with. It is a lovely space with interesting dishes, though I’d LOVE to see the Adobe Salad put back on the menu. Seriously, management. Adobe Salad. I’ll be your BFF.

Came here for dinner on a Friday night. The service was really outstanding with a very attentive and sweet wait staff. The food… Was really bad. I had the salmon salad and Brussels sprouts. Both were over cooked and pretty flavorless. I’m not even picky… I’d come back but only to give brunch a shot.

Summary: a New American restaurant that’s worth a try in the competitive Hell’s Kitchen area. But service and food are nothing spectacular to write home about. Venue: in case you’re not aware, Hell’s Kitchen is more than just home to Daredevil. Its variety of food is a blessing to the locals. The Jones just opened up few weeks ago(as of the time of this writing). The inside has a nice mix of modern and rustic look. It has a bar and about 10 single tables, so it’s not a huge place. We came here for brunch, so not sure how it looks at night. Food: what’s unique about the menu, is that they change it everyday. And it’s only a page, so you’re not bombarded with too many choices. Its mix of fusion food is quite interesting. I had the Korean BBQ Chicken Omelette, while my friend has the Stuffed Croissant French Toast. My omelette looks unique, but it’s nothing more than regular omelette with chicken and Korean kimchi sauce. The french toast was slightly better, but still not amazing. The only thing I liked was the maple-bacon sausage, which was quite good. Service: They really fall short in this department. There was only 2 of us, and when we got there, there’s a clean empty table open, as well as chairs by the bar, but we were standing there waiting to be seated for at least 20 mins(with no one else waiting). We were told by the waitress twice that someone would come greet us, so we didn’t want to just walk in and sit down. Finally the person who greeted us looks like the owner or manager but in plain clothes that you’d think he’s just a customer. Even after we were seated, the service was still slow. In fact, the couple who were sitting next to us got up and just left without ordering. Without service, any restaurant would just look like a take-out place. Overall, I’m not impressed with the food or the service at all, and neither is my friend. We both feel there’s potential, but just not enough to justify another visit. **Note — it seems most of the 5 star reviews were written by people with 1 or 2 reviews. kinda suspicious.**

Absolutely *LOVE* the addition of The Jones to the neighborhood! Great atmosphere and have already had a few terrific meals off the dinner menu. Veggie options are plentiful, but my fave item on the menu is the burger! My gripe with so many burgers out there is the bland seasoning, but not this one! This burger is delicious — highly recommend! Also loved the side of sweet potatoes(with melted marshmallow on top — and no, it’s not too sweet). The black rice balls were also really inventive and have a great crunch-tang thing going on. Mac and cheese also superb. Weekend brunch already looks packed with people, so hoping to try that next!

YOUHAVETOREADTHISREVIEW: I’ve only written two reviews about service companies, and they were very positive. I don’t like being negative but, my experience at The Jones was so ridiculous, I had to write about it. First, the food is meh. There are over 16,000 full-service restaurants in Manhattan. Why would you eat food that is meh? The food selection and quality is that of a cafeteria. Seriously. It is simply sustenance, not«comfort food» as they like to market it. There’s a difference. The audience this place markets to is people who don’t have a clue about good food, tourists who don’t realize it, and those who cannot be seated anywhere else in the neighborhood. Portions were small also. Yes, small. Second, the owner needs to train the wait staff(I waited tables so I’m empathetic). I found them to be blaringly obvious to upsell EVERYTHING and a little obnoxious. We were corrected twice on a sharing error they admit THEY had made. «We realize your waiter didn’t tell you, but there is a $ 2 sharing charge. We’ll let it go this time, but we do charge normally,» quipped the runner only to hear it again from the waiter but this time with a little more attitude. ITWASHISFAULT for not telling us(we would have said that it was fine). Are you kidding me!!! They should not have discussed it with us.(Btw, the bill came to $ 150. We gave them a 20% tip plus two singles for their mistake.) Go, but don’t say you weren’t warned.

The Jones recently opened up on 9th Avenue by the group responsible for the Eatery(which recently closed on 9th/53rd) I went for brunch one weekend afternoon after dropping off my clothes at the laundromat. I was seated quickly and asked for coffee. The coffee arrived a while later but no menu-I later found out that the menu was being adjusted for the day. The coffee arrived not with a spoon but with two plastic stirrers. I felt this was tacky. I ordered from the weekend brunch menu-there were multiple options; all of the menu is a la carte. There is no fixed price brunch. The brunch options included an Asian salad with chicken and a lemon ginger vinaigrette, a Korean BBQ Chicken omelette, and a brunch sirloin burger. I ordered the Jones fried egg sandwich with maple bacon sausage, vermont cheddar cheese on croissant french toast along with cubed home fries. The sandwich was very good and the home fries very tasty. Prior to my meal, i was given two house made donut bites(the size of teardrops) but they were very good(with powdered sugar). The space is well organized, much smaller than the Eatery space, but bright and airy. A bar is on one side of the room. A restroom is towards the back of the space. The bathroom can accommodate those with disabilities. I would recommend and return-I would like to try some of the other brunch options. Their dinner menu includes some of the brunch options along with other selections including ribeye steak, fish tacos and monkfish.

Amazing entrée, amazing dinner and fabulous service. When you walk in, you just feel at home. We have been traveling the USA for 5 weeks. The best meal so far… ! We had the coconut pulled pork, Rib eye with buttered mash potatoes, the pasta of the day and finished with the donuts! Anazing. You guys rock!!!

My friend and I started the night with a specialty cocktail called the Unicorn, it had Myers Rum, St. Germaine and Ginger beer and was divine. We shared the Coconut Braised Pulled Pork with the Red Curry and Pineapple reduction and liked it a lot. Grilled Fish tacos(see photo) were perfectly tangy and satisfying. Must try the Brussels sprouts, I’m a aficionado and loved them!

Portions are so small and very pricy. Place was empty. So many other good choices in HK. Many with a good a crowd, food and value. Was worth a try but don’t see myself going back.

Brand new place by the previous owners of Eatery that occupies the former space of Q2 Thai(we’ve lived in the neighborhood awhile so familiar of all the comings and goings). The place recently opened and is going through typical new place growing pains. Overall, the food was quite tasty but the serving size on average was too small for the price charged, thus we felt like the place lacked value and until that changes will likely not go back. If they fix that, though, I’d recommend it because the food quality was good! The place is super small — it had maybe about 10 tables plus a bar seating area and another ledge with some chairs facing the window. We ordered the Oven Fried Chicken(delicious and fair portion), Mack and Jack(delicious but resembled a child’s portion or a small app), and the Chicken Salad(delicious, similar to the one from Eatery, but about half the size — presentation lacked a bit too). We also tasted the unique Black Bean Humus(good, small to average size). Mixed drinks were a bit messy(tried one off menu and sent it back). No tonic or pineapple juice at bar. We went with wine in end which worked well. Service was nice — waiter did a good job making a connection.
