I order the lamb gyro platter and it was a huge disappointment. The lamb was very dry. What a waste of money. After 2 bites everything went in the trash

Came to try this place out and got seated. We were expecting somebody to come and wait our table but nobody came so I had to walk to the register to order the food. Annina Manganiello was at the cashier but she treated us like we were stupid and inferior. The table next to us asked for salt and pepper and she told the customers that they didn’t have any and that if they wanted some they could go to the next door restaurant to get it. We got the vegetable gyro and the lamb gyro but it was bland and over cooked. Paid 15 $ for lamb jerkey. Should have gone to halal guys. Terrible customer service, terrible food… Never coming ever again.

Just ok, I won’t go back. Stopped there mid-afternoon, wanting to try a new place, & thinking it could be a real find. Well the restaurant has no atmosphere at all, just loud music on the radio. To be fair, I guess it’s more of a takeout/delivery place. I thought it might take 5 minutes max to put my lunch special chicken wrap on a plate. But I waited 15 minutes, & then it tasted good but not yum yum delicious. I had an extra little side of babaganoush which was actually better than the special. No one else was there, so I don’t know why it took so long. Maybe they were busy getting deliveries ready, though I wouldn’t think 2 in the afternoon is a big delivery time. The wifi wasn’t working, which made it seem even longer. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and apologized for the wait. But with all of the great places on Ninth Avenue, sorry to say I can’t recommend this one.

If you want to wait 40 minutes for one little sandwich then this is not the place you want to go

I ordered the Chicken Platter to go and absolutely regret it. The chicken was dry, tomatoes were old, and there were boiled carrots thrown into the mix. The pita bread was straight out of the bag and not grilled or warmed up at all. The word pita shouldn’t even be the name of this restaurant. This has been by far the worst platter I have had.

The food is cooked decently and it’s a good sized portion it’s just… Kind of all the same. I’ve only tried the chicken but besides the meat the variations to rice and sides aren’t that extreme. I highly recommend the Muscle Maker or Santa Fe Panini. Lamb gyro was kind of dry and over seasoned. Not a bad place just not the greatest.

I don’t really understand the negative reviews. Found a groupon so I decided to try this place out. Food was delicious and the staff was friendly. They have a great variety of options including vegetarian. Price is right.

I was looking for lunch for the next day and stopped at the Pita Grill. I got the pita grilled sandwich wrap with grilled chicken to go-this comes with grilled chicken and basil rubbed eggplant, mesclun greens, sun dried cranberries, feta cheese with a lite roasted red pepper vinaigrette. I ate it the next day for lunch and it was delicious. The staff was pleasant, the prices reasonable and if you want to eat it, there are tables to sit down. I would recommend and return and they offer brown bag lunch specials for $ 9.95 with French fries or salad and soda or bottled water.

I went here to use a Groupon that i had purchased long ago. To be honest, I was really excited to see their menu items. It looked like there was a wide variety of items to choose from. But surprisingly, the taste of the food was so bad. I ordered the organic burger and pinacolada smoothie. The burger was served in pita and had no taste. Pinacolada was also just average.

This is my favorite place on 9th… I always hang out in there on the weekend and watch the foot traffic go by while enjoying the«chicken rice bowl w/red wine vinaigrette»! The service is always great, the staff is very warm and knowledgeable about the menu and the entrees which is a plus. I will definitely recommend this place to friends!

I don’t know why this place has such a low rating on Unilocal.I catered from Pita Grill for an office event, and really liked the food! For a group of ~20, we ordered the Appetizer Platter, assorted pita sandwiches, Santa Fe brown rice bowls, and goat cheese salad. The appetizer platter included different greens, dips, and salad. This was probably the least impressive of all the dishes — small portion and not a whole lot of variety. The assorted pita sandwiches sadly only included two options — falafel and grilled chicken — but both were tasty. The pita is stuffed with generous serving of protein, as well as chopped tomatoes, lettuce, and tzatziki sauce. The brown rice bowls is also a good bang for your money. You get a pretty big bowl of brown rice mixed in with chicken, black beans, arugula, and tomatoes. Nothing too special, to be honest, but all the flavors are in there. Finally, my favorite was the goat cheese salad. It’s topped with grilled pita rubbed with generous amount of goat cheese and sweet onions. So yummy!

I’m never ordering from this place again! There used to be a Pita Grill on the UWS and I loved it. The California Hummus was awesome! Now that it is no longer on the UWS, I’ve ordered from this location two times; both regretful as my order has been messed up and the quality of food is not good like the UWS location. Tonight I ordered Pita Grill for the sole purpose of getting California Hummus… but they sent me traditional hummus. I ordered Baba Ganoush as my side on an entrée and they sent traditional hummus. So… for someone that didn’t order traditional hummus at all I received two orders of plain hummus! So irritating!

I decided to try this place when I found it on Groupon. It was for a Falafel Pita and a soda for $ 1.00 — well, I couldn’t resist a $ 1.00 meal. This place is easy to find, VERY small inside and quite warm — a little too warm for my taste but the food was good. I wish the falafel pita had some kind of sauce in it because without it, it’s a tad dry but still very good. The service was great, everyone was very friendly. I’d definitely come back to try some other items.

Terrible delivery service! Ordered at 8, called to check at 9 — first they hung up on me, then said that the seamless fax got lost(sill using a fax? … It is 2016!). 9.20 and still waiting! Wow — get your act together folks! Order arrived at 10.15… Wow!

Ordered on Seamless at 7:42pm. Order wasn’t even printed until 8:17pm. It then wasn’t picked up to be delivered until 9:01pm. We received the order around 9:20pm. That’s over an hour and a half from time of order. On top of that, the food was HORRENDOUS. Gyro platter(which was only distantly related to actual gyro platters I’ve had before) was so salty I couldn’t even eat it. The meat was tough and fatty. The babaganoush was extremely bitter. The tabouleh was mediocre at best but had a weird after taste. The peach smoothie was frozen solid when I received it and after it thawed enough to drink, it tasted watered down — mostly ice. Disgusting food. Terrible service. Do NOT eat here.

I ordered the vegetarian platter for lunch, which consisted of falafel, pita, grape leaves, two dips and taboulli salad. The entire dish was bland and underwhelming. The pita was rubbery, the hummus had no flavor, and there was a pool of water at the bottom of the salads, leaving me with an entirely disappointing meal that was not worth the $ 11 I paid. The delivery was also 15 minutes late. There are a lot of middle eastern options in this city, and I strongly recommend trying another one.

The other reviewers are right. Pita grill needs to step up it’s game, lose the dry pitas and hire a new chef. Things I order and am somewhat satisfied with: — Grilled chicken pita — Cesar salad pita — Rice bowl — Grilled vegetable appetizer I find prices reasonable, but the food is ok, sauces are blah, And it all leaves me feeling… Meh. Meh.

What a mediocre platter of fast food with a price tag of a restaurant! I would’ve been ok paying that price but the quality of of food SUCKS!!! Every bite was making me angrier for not going to a better place and paying the same price for a flavorful plate instead! I ordered the lamb gyro which looked like a sad sad sad honestly the saddest combo platter I’ve ever seen! The lamb was dark and smelly and the hummus was whitish so u can just imagine what it tasted like! Word of advice for Pita Grill: New York is full of gyro carts selling better quality and tasting food in 1⁄3 the price! Next time I’ll much rather get gyro from a street vendor than to put myself thru the agony of eating here! To sum it up it was a painfully disgusting experience!!! :-( Oh and to top it all off there was a hair in my food!!! Patheticccccc
