Everything you need from a bar and an oasis for weekend brunch. The lobster Benedict is as good as anywhere in the city and reasonably priced. Steak and eggs is also a favorite.

Came for brunch and ordered the eggs Benedict. It was so-so. They took forever to seat us even though the place wasn’t crowded at the time. I think they forgot that they told us to wait at the bar so we had to remind them when there were several empty tables open. If you want the«free» drink that comes with the brunch meal it has to be one of the alcoholic beverages listed. It clearly says no substitutions, but I’m surprised they wouldn’t let us substitute for a non-alcoholic beverage since those are generally a lot cheaper.

This place is great! It reminds me of pony bar but with an awesome food menu. While I had to eat the kale salad(it was yummy) the burgers and soft pretzels with cheese dip around me looked heavenly. The beer selection is deep and on point, complimented but an attentive wait staff, tables for small groups, or seats at the bar. I will be back for sure. Like a lot.

Just before heading over to see a play, we originally decided to go to B Side Pizza and watch some football. Unfortunately B Side didn’t have TV’s, but they did recommend we go to Alfie’s. Of all the places to watch a game, I’m not sure why they chose Alfie’s, but it was a great choice nonetheless. Just in time for brunch which is all you can order around noon time on a Saturday. I was starved and not sure if I wanted to give up watching the game to go back and get a pizza. Glad I stayed. Great craft beer on draught. Nice happy hour specials. The brunch entrees include a choice of a Bloody Mary or Mimosa. I decided to get the Lobster Benedict which was loaded with chunks of lobster meat. Not just from the claw, but also some tail meat included as well. Quite a generous portion with a tasty salad and sweet potato fries on the side. For around $ 20, I’d say it was quite reasonable. The staff was very friendly and the clientele seemed to be well dressed millennial foodies. I chose the Bloody Mary which was served with 3 olives and a slice of jalapeño.

I love it when I don’t have to wait to get brunch in NYC, especially during the frigid winter. I love it even more when each entrée comes with a morning cocktail of either a bloody mary or mimosa. There is ample seating here but a lot of the table seating gets taken early, leaving the high tops for up to parties of four. It didn’t matter for us since we were all tall enough to sit on the high tops and I had a perfect view of the TV to catch the NFL divisional game. We made it super easy for our waitress by ordering the steak and eggs, over easy and medium rare steak. The eggs and steak came out just the way we ordered them and I liked how they pre cut the steak for us into bite sized pieces. The food was done very well and definitely hit the spot for a good Sunday brunch. I’d definitely return for brunch and if I find myself here after midnight they have a happy hour where all drafts are $ 5 that seems worth checking out too.

Had an amazing dinner here last week & came For drinks this week. Nice servers and kind people, overall. Definitely come! It’s definitely worth your time and business. I’ve had a few lovely experiences here. People are pretty attractive too! I will be back, as someone who lives in the neighborhood. :-)

Kudos for being one of the few legit bars in Hell’s Kitchen(as in, not trashy tourist territory). Good craft beer selection and decent food. Slight disappointment on the burger front though — the meat was too dry and could’ve used more cheese.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local. We went on Tuesday night and didn’t expect to wait. Waited about 25 minutes to be seated. The place was packed, albeit small too. Drinks were great and the food was fantastic. I had the Pastrami sandwich on a pretzel roll. Wow! Loved it.

I stopped in here rather by accident with a long lost friend. He, had the *BBQ Grilled Chicken which came with *Grilled Corn that was«Really good». I ordered the *Black Kale Caesar with a side of grilled chicken that the kitchen, and Cian were all too happy to add…#Spectacular. That had to have been the best salad I’ve had in a while. That’s all.

Pretty great bar, I had this bookmarked to try and I am glad I did. We came in on a Wednesday night mostly because of $ 5 happy hour, it’s only 2 beers, one like a yuengling and the other stella-esque. Good either way. There are $ 6 well drinks, and wine too I believe. The bartenders were absolute sweethearts and on the spot with refills. I didn’t catch their names, but taller and Irish, both great. The food was damn good too! You need to get the fried chicken sandwich, NEEDTO. It was so damn good one of the best I’ve ever had. The fries with the hint of rosemary also delicious. The wife got the pesto chicken sandwich, also good but pretty standard. I would go with this fried chicken over this one. The pastrami on a pretzel was also very tempting. The crowd was a great after work, local crowd and it was loud but not in a bad way, in a normal people having a conversation way not screaming over TVs or music way. This was a great spot and I will absolutely be back here!

There really wasn’t anything I could think of that I didn’t like about Alfie’s. We were there for Saturday brunch around 12:30. We waited for a table for 4 people for only 5 minutes. The bloody Mary’s really are great! Not as spicy as I expected but they have a nice subtle horseradish flavor. You get one free drink with your meal: either a mimosa or Bloody Mary. I got the French toast which was made so much better by the fact that there were caramelized bananas and REAL maple syrup. My fiancé got the pulled pork Benedict which was also very good. The blueberry pancakes were good but they looked so lonely. The dish came with 3 pancakes but nothing on the side. I was hoping for some bacon or fruit to keep the pancakes company.

The Bloody Mary here = 5 stars. Hell, 10 stars. As many stars as you can give. A Bloody Mary that’s lacking in the horseradish department always makes me sad, and the spicy BM at Alfie’s is full of it and is what dreams are made of. It was the best I’ve had in a very, very long time. We stopped in for an early lunch on a weekday and it was pretty empty — it filled up a little later, but I’m thinking that weekend brunch is when it gets busy. Their brunch menu looks so great, but unfortunately they don’t serve it during the week. Lunch it was! My lunch date had the mussels in a fragrant broth of Alfie’s ale, garlic, shallots, chives, and cream. It’s served in a HUGE bowl and could definitely be shared. I couldn’t decide on one thing so I ordered the wagyu beef sliders and the pan roasted cauliflower. The sliders were good, but surprisingly a little bit dry and tough. The cauliflower was a-ok, but I would make different choices next time. Worth it for the Bloody Mary alone! Definitely stop by when in the neighborhood.

I came for brunch and had a great time! First of all, the bloody Mary was STRONG and delicious. Can’t taste the alcohol at all. Just the right amount of spice with a chain of olives on top. 1. Caramel French toast: The French toast were more like thick pancakes that had a little bit of texture in them. The banana slices laid over were a great addition. Highly recommend this dish. 2. Bacon: Freshly done, they came out with the bacon fat still sizzling on them. 3. Avocado toast: Comes with two poached eggs and a salad on the toast. Side of potatoes. Everything tasted fresh. Nothing was over salted. 4. Pulled pork sandwich: Yummy! Hard to screw up a dish with pulled pork, sunny side up eggs, and salad. And they didn’t, because this dish was delectable. 5. Steak and eggs: The steak was good, but maybe could have been slightly more rare. The plate comes with eggs, salad, and potatoes. I think it’s a great brunch deal! Ambience is simple bar/gastropub. They had some Halloween and fall decorations up when I was here.

This is more of a 3.5 for me, but why not round up. FOOD: The food is definitely solid here. I had the vegetarian flatbread option, which I thought was pretty good, and big enough to share. I also had the grilled peaches, which I thought were delicious. I also tried the beet & goat cheese salad which I highly recommend — there is fried goat cheese in it which is heaven in my books. The drink deals are good too since their happy hour is long, they have $ 5 glasses of wine I believe. AMBIENCE: Nothing much to say about this, it’s dark/bar like on the inside, but in the summer it’s pleasant to sit outside. PRICE: Expensive for what you get, definitely. However, this is one of the only places you can get an actual meal late at night. For this, it’s worth it.

Pretty hoping place on a Friday night! Never made it upstairs, but it sounded like people were having tons of fun. Sat at the bar. Super fast and friendly service!(Sometimes hard to find in NYC) Had the wings. Not too spicy. Just right on crispy skin and flavor saturation. Bartenders were on point with drink refills and checking out was super smooth. Would’ve loved to stay longer and try some of the awesome sounding items on the menu.

Not sure why this place has such stellar reviews; the best thing is the 1 free drink with every meal ordered. The blood mary’s are GREAT and the location is good. they also open at 10 instead of 11 like everywhere else in the area. i had the crab omlet which was eh, nothing to write home about. we were staying around the corner and went here based off of the reviews + the fact it opened at 10, however i sort of wish we waited for somewhere that opened a little later. the service was ok, they forgot the bacon and the chicken on the salad and the eggs. oh well.

A+ for décor and music. A group friends and I were roaming around for a while before we found a bar that could offer us a table, and Alfie’s was very welcoming. The lighting is dim and kind of romantic, and the music were some great throwbacks that we all sang along to. The drinks were very mediocre bordering on straight-up bad, however. 2 friends got the Pinot Noir for $ 9 a class, and I’ve never tasted such bad wine(and I’m well acquainted with Franzia and the like). They must have some reaaaaally cheap wine back there. A couple friends and I got the Allagash White beer, one of my favorites that I order all the time. It just tasted different and watered down. Very pricey too. Not sure what they’re doing to the drinks here, so although the décor is nice and the staff is friendly, I wouldn’t recommend Alfie’s for a drink with friends.

What went wrong? Well, service was great. The place inside is cute. We sat outside and enjoyed the view. So what went wrong? The food was 2 stars across the board. My husband was just happy they had beer. I was starving and the food still tastes blah. Avoid the cheese curds they taste like a bad soggy cheese toast. They are super airy and the cheese is just dry. Fried calamari and shrimp is doable. They should use that batter to on the cheese curds. I was craving fried chicken so I went ahead and ordered the chicken and honey. It was so-so. It came with a flavorless cole slaw and corn. My husband and friends ordered sandwiches which they didn’t like either and I doubt their worth ranting about. Caramel chocolate pudding is a seriously boring ass desert. I was turned off by it’s lack of flavor. The food wasn’t good and it wasn’t cheap.

Me and my wife decided to check out Alfie’s on a beautiful sunny, Sunday afternoon. We went here for brunch at around 2:30 pm(yeah hungover from previous night!) and this place was relatively empty, so we didn’t have to wait, to be seated. This place has a nice ambiance… quite relaxed and chilled. Based on reviews of other fellow Unilocalers, I decided to try the Turkey Burger and the Mrs. went for Pesto Chicken. We also got our complimentary drinks with it. We got the Bellini and Bloody Mary. Both were just about OK. I thought they were watered down… Regarding the food… our pretty little hostess goofed-up part of our order but we won’t take away any stars because she did resemble Dakota Johnson a little bit, and then was kind enough to offer my Mrs. a free Bellini to correct her mistake ;-). Food was nice. My wife didn’t enjoy her Pesto Chicken too much. said she didn’t really taste pesto too well and the Chicken wasn’t moist. was a bit dry. As for the burger. yes, I totally agree with fellow Unilocalers. they are really good. However, I am also a fan of Five Napkin Burger on 45th and 9th. both burgers were nice and juicy… 5N just has a slight edge because of the sauce they use on their breads. However, 1 complete star for their sweet potato fries. they definitely beat 5N with this one! Overall, good experience. 1 star specially for carrying Ithaca’s Apricot Wheat on tap. Both of us absolutely love that beer!

3.5 but bumped up to 4 because of the free drink with brunch. Gonna keep this one short: Very nice gastropub atmosphere. I came here for a weekday brunch post night call. **Everything on the brunch menu comes with a complimentary drink: mimosa, belini, bloody mary #BURGER: Had the try the Alfie’s burger cause the description was too tempting to pass up. melted gruyère, oyster mushrooms, crispy shaoolots, sage, sunny side egg on brioche. Your mouth is now watering. All good and all, BUT, my burger was on the dry side. I ordered it medium rare, friend ordered it medium well. perhaps we both got medium well??, I’ll never know. Worth a try though. The rest of their menu also sounds pretty delicious. FRIES: very solid french fries, thick cut crispy. I’m a fan of the large pieces of fried rosemary that come mixed in the fries. *slab bacon side — hardly slab, just 4 small pieces of bacon. Of course it was good, but nothing special. SLAB is misleading, but it did get me to order it, great job person who arranged the menu. OVERALL: solid option, decent burger, hopefully it’ll be more juicy when you order it. The rest of the menu sounds tempting but I can’t comment. Good luck.
