Farm to table kinda of restaurant. Get the chicken get the chicken get the chicken. Important side notes need to be repeated three times

Prompt attentive service, delicious, healthy food at dinner. I had tile fish, friend had roasted chicken. I was fine with limited menu because they had what we wanted. Cozy place in Chelsea Market, the latter jam packed with desert options for after dinner. Simple, attractive décor. Two entrees, bread, cheese for desert, no adult beverages was $ 100. Farmhouse feel to accompany menu emphasis on fresh local foods featured numerous vegetables.

Last night, I dined at the Green Table and had a wonderful experience. Service was prompt, our water glasses were filled throughout the night and our waiter/all staff were very friendly. The chickpea soup was a special on the menu for the night, and it was absolutely delicious. We also ordered the roast chicken with greens and polenta and daily market fish which was fluke with bok choy and mushrooms. The chicken had incredible flavor. It was served with kale and polenta which were both cooked perfectly. The fluke was perfectly cooked and was a fanastic light meal. Great food and service all around!

I waited for my decaf– twice. My partner waited for a beverage that only arrived once I flagged down someone who wasn’t our waitress because ours disappeared. The deviled eggs were great in flavor but it was clear they’d been sitting in the fridge for a while — they were far too cold and firm. The soup was decent, but I’m still giving this place one star for the lack of service and when some place says it’s farm to table, I expect it to be fresh.

Menu looked amazing, ordered a bottled drink that took five minutes and a reminder to the staff to arrive. Ordered the benedict on chive biscuits only to be told that it would be served on an English muffin today. What wasn’t clear until the food arrived that I would be served two small, over-poached, eggs with two incredibly small, over cooked rashers of bacon on top of two halves of an English muffin I could have hidden under a silver dollar. My recommendation — eat anywhere else in the Chelsea Market.

One star for the menu that looked good, but never tasted. The other is for the poor service. I was going to dine alone, however, was told tables are reserved for parties of 2 or more. I was told to sit at the bar or outside at the big table in the food court. This raises concerns for me: what do you do with a party of 3? 2 at a table and 1 at the bar? Probably not. If I can sit at the big table outside why can’t a party of 2 sit there? I suspect management or the owners made the decision to sacrifice service for quick revenue, and giving the unsightly task of insulting customers to the host. Undoubtedly, someone at the top might see this post and manage down to the hosts and servers, but seldom is that the problem. I think the orders are coming from the farm.

We went here with some friends with not much expectation. We had a very pleasant surprise. We were two couples with two kids. So they seated us outside(probably for good reason). I ordered steak that I loved and really would like to go back. Children got pasta at special request(very accommodating). Overall great place to visit.

I went here the other night for the first time for dinner. It’s a cute, tranquil restaurant settled in the craziness of Chelsea Market, and the service was courteous and mostly attentive. The menu was rather limited, likely due to their premise of using fresh, local ingredients, but it had a good mix of vegetarian and meat options. After seeing pics of delightful looking mac n cheese on Unilocal,I was disappointed to discover that it’s only available at lunchtime :(Thus, my friend and I opted for the pot pies — one chicken and one veg. Both were awesome, with lighter, flavorful filling than more traditional recipes. Also, for the lushes out there, they have happy hour prices on select drinks from 4−7pm on weeknights(e.g., $ 7 for a glass of wine). Overall, great food but a little more expensive than the usual«$$» rated restaurant.

This review is based on the pot pies we ordered for dinner and the service. The Green Table is a small restaurant located in the middle of the Chelsea Market. My friend and I came here to try out their pot pies, which were a lot smaller than I had expected for $ 18 – 21(each). They offer chicken and mushroom, both served with a side of salad. The soup inside the mushroom pot pie was thicker and creamier than the mushroom. I loved both, especially their flakey crusts, but they taste like the ones I used to buy frozen from the supermarket and heat up in the microwave for 2 minutes(and they cost a whole lot less). Service was great though, the guy was really friendly and showed us their happy hour menu. Might come back for their cider but the pot pies were a disappointment.

We ate at the Green Table while visiting Chelsea Market and happy we did. We started with the red sangria which was one of the best ones we ever had. Then we had the squash soup which was hearty and not too rich. Then we had the cheese and bread board with honey and sweet figs. perfect lite lunch. Would eat here again during our next trip.

Went with a couple of girlfriends and we enjoyed it. We ordered a cheese plate to start and a couple NY Strips(that came with mashed potatoes and greens) and a Mushroom Pot Pie. Everything was delicious. My steak was cooked to perfection. The greens were sauteed beautifully. The cheese plate was delicious. We each had a fave cheese. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was serene but not so much so that it made you sleepy, if that makes sense. I love that the restaurant is small. As it maintains a sort of intimacy about it that is kind of hard to pull off in Chelsea. All in all, we will be back.

The Green Table is exactly the kind of place that I visit continuously. I have eaten dinner here many times now and have always enjoyed my food immensely. Their ingredients being incontestably fresh-from-the-farm, they offer a sophisticated assortment of comfort foods so very tasty. Their menu changes frequently but their basic menu staples are always offered.

*3.5 stars* Came here with the excitement of ordering the mushroom pot pie. It was basically mushroom soup with a crispy top. I wanted a real pot pie — crust all around. The mushroom soup was creamy and filling but there was no originality. The top crust was flaky but there wasn’t enough of it. My Unilocaler gal pal ordered the chicken pot pie and was disappointed too. I loved that it came with a side salad of mixed greens. The salad was refreshing! The service was so fast and the service was spot on. They put a minimum tip suggestion of 18%.

I really wanted to love this place. The menu looked amazing and don’t get me wrong, the food was solid, but not outstanding. I ordered the Brussels sprouts to start and they fell a little flat and needed a touch of salt(and I’m not that person who needs to salt everything). The other person in my party ordered the warm mushroom salad. A much stronger(tastier) showing. For our main dishes, I went with the chicken pot pie. It was good, but not awesome. My counterpart ordered the GT Burger. The bun it was on was huge and dwarfed the small hamburger patty.(She said the beef had really good flavor though.) We finished the meal with the apple shortcake and the pear galette. We both agreed that the desserts were the best part of the day. All in all, a nice meal. Just not extraordinary.

I’ve been looking for a farm-to-table restaurant for awhile now and came across The Green Table when I was Xmas shopping at Chelsea market. I ordered the half grilled cheese sandwich with market soup and a serve of salad for $ 15. Yep, this seems expensive for what it is but I was very impressed with the flavor of the food — I was served carrot and squash soup with a drizzle of honey and pumpkin seeds, so delicious! The grilled cheese sandwich had some type of chutney/pickle spread which gave it a bit of a kick. Plus the bread was nicely fried in butter(or oil? Couldn’t really tell). All in all a pleasant dining experience. I’d be back to try other dishes on their menu!

We were exploring the chelsea market and decided to find a restaurant to dine in so that we could sit down comfortably since we had a baby with us. We came across this restaurant and decided to give it a try. The space is quite small but very cozy. The décor is super cute and reminiscent of a farm house dining room. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant is a little smelly due to poor ventilation from the kitchen. We definitely smelled like burnt toast when we left. For lunch we ordered: Chicken liver pâté — came with pickled mustard seeds and grilled bread. The pâté was under seasoned which was a let down Bc I loveeee pâté. The bread was slightly burnt and unpleasant. Kale salad w pears, pumpkin seeds, roasted radishes & cranberries — nice and refreshing. The dressing was slightly sweet and balanced with salt and acid. The radishes didn’t really go well with this salad Bc it gave off a sulfurous odor that wasn’t pleasant. I enjoy radishes very much but it didn’t belong in this dish. The kale leaves were obnoxiously large which made eating the salad a little messy and annoying. The kale needs to be torn into smaller pieces please. Fried chicken sandwich — w fennel slaw, pickled green tomatoes & spicy chile aioli. I loveee fried chicken, but this sandwich was disappointing. The chicken was bland and the green tomatoes were not tasty. The components of this sandwich did not compliment the fried chicken at all. The aioli, however, had a nice kick of heat. Chicken pot pie — my BIL ordered this dish and he said it was delicious. Iced infusion of the day — lemon verbena & Ginger — I love lemon verbena, but I barely tasted any in this drink. The ginger flavor was more dominant. It was also unsweetened. I usually dont mind unsweetened beverages, but this one wasn’t tasty. Overall, I probably won’t return bc the food here is lacking seasoning and I don’t like eating in places that make your clothes stink. NYC has so many restaurants to choose from so I won’t be doing any repeats until I find a restaurant that’s worth a second visit.

Came here for a last minute brunch with a group of 6, they were the only restaurant that was able to accommodate our party size, so that’s a win in my book. The service was quick and friendly. The dishes were yummy! Their menu seems to change with the seasons, so u cannot wait to keep coming back to try their new dishes. Their ingredients were fresh and you can tell the establishment took pride in their plates. I ordered the falafel, it was a great twist on the traditional falafel I love. Other got the waffle and chicken dish. Everyone was pleased with their meals. I cannot wait to go back and try more of their dishes.

Walked in during a busy lunchtime(Chelsea Market was crazy!) at 12:30 on October 30. I chose it because I wanted to eat in a civilized manner and not throw a sandwich down my gullet at one of the other places where people were standing by tables in crowded quarters. The hostess was very professional and kind and explained there would be a short wait. even though I was only one person. I waited… I thought I was waiting for a two seat table but when she came to tell me a table was ready she offered the communal(six seat) table. I accepted because I had to eat and then run to JFK to catch a flight. *rant begins* I gotta say, the communal table sucked. It wasn’t what I asked for or wanted. I wasn’t feeling«communal» and it was awkward waiting and then eating with the group of three and the other single diner the hostess put there. Communal tables in general are annoying. Don’t accept a seat there unless you have a desire to make new friends. Three stars for communal seating which was not what I asked for and I wasn’t feeling friendly but I was time constrained and accepted it. *rant over* I ordered the crispy spicy chicken sandwich and it was probably the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had in my life without exception. Holy crap it was good. It was clearly natural and fresh and the breast was fresh out of the fryer hot and crispy. Temperature was perfect. The bun was too small but that’s kind of a good thing. Who needs the extra carbs? Not me. I basically cut he huge chicken breast around the bun eating it with a fork and knife and then ate the sandwich as a sandwich once the chicken was bun sized. If that makes sense. The sandwich was really awesome. Five stars all the way. The service was excellent. No complaints. Five stars. The prices are higher than surrounding places in Chelsea Market but worth it for the quality delivered. Organic, local, etc. tl;dr Go here now for exceptional eats and service but don’t sit at the communal table if you have an attitude like mine.

Nice locally sourced high-end dinning experience. The service and food where spot on. It’s very small and you need to make reservations, but worth the wait. We had the cheese plate to start off with and the combination of salty and sweet items on the plate helped start our appetite. The market fish of the day were scallops and they were pretty amazing. I could taste the fresh quality of the ingredients in every bite. I believe they source most of their ingredients locally since the fall/autumn menu including several squash dishes, but we didn’t try those. It was too loud in the dinning area, but other than that, great 5 start experience and worth the high price tag.

The Green table is one of my favorite places on Chelsea Market. This place is always packed, no matter what day of the week it is. The service is slow but friendly, the décor very nice and clean and the menu has tons of choices. My friend and I had a couple of beers, they don’t have a crazy long list of beers but the ones they have are pretty good ones. We started with the cheese board and it was great! It had candied pecans and fruit, and of course hipster things like polen and local this and that… For dinner, I ordered the Vegetarian Pot Pie, best I’ve ever had, it was filled with mushrooms and the shell was nice and flaky. I absoluely recommend The Green Table for a nice dinner, but only if you have time to spare because it seriously will take a while to dine here.

Agora estou quase criando mofo esperando o prato. Demorado. Expulsaram minha mãe do restaurante porque ela estava tomando um copinho de sopa. Frescurinhas desnecessárias… afffffffff

We were here for brunch ! Tried the mushroom pot pie and grilled cheese and soup. The pot pies are super tasty at this place. The grilled cheese also has some kinda blueberry chutney /jam, which really paired well with the salty cheese. The tomato soup which was a cold gazpacho was a disappointment it just tasted like salsa and I don’t wanna have salsa with my grilled cheese. I loved the vibe of the place, other dishes like the biscuit eggs Benedict and fish looked really interesting. Their coffee was solid. I would say it’s a tad bit overpriced but then it’s Chelsea market.

Start to finish an example of a well run, locally sourced, attention to detail, cozy restaurant. Seated immediately even asked for a specific table with no issues. Malbec $ 7 during happy hour was smooth and full bodied. White sangria with organic cucumber vodka and small chunks of cucumber was a glass of refreshing heaven! Local cheese plate with honey, blueberries and figs was perfect to share. Extra bread offered without us asking, water bottle on table hoisted occasionally by us and also by server(would u like still or sparkling)? Chicken pot pie and vegetarian mushroom pot pie were both very good. Not loaded with potatoes but loaded with creamy flavor and topped with crisp puff pastry. Dessert was a chocolate zabaglione that I wasn’t impressed with. However, service was nearly perfect. Even took away silverware after every course and replaced with clean, appropriate silverware. Love that! Cannot wait to return with friends and family. Please do not think this is a tourist trap because of it’s location In the Chelsea market, it is local all the way, farm to table and priced right.

Came here on a random Sat afternoon for a late brunch — we were starving and everywhere else in Chelsea market looked super busy, but we wanted a place to sit and chill. For drinks, we tried the ice coffee and their raspberry soda(both were OK, nothing special). For entrée, I tried the Friend shrimp with grits(their special and our waitress said it was their last one) — I’m so glad I got it! It was delicious! the shrimp was fried perfectly and not drenched in oil, the grits was warm and smooth… YUM… my friend had the Benedict and said it was good :) I’m giving this place a 3 start bc it was good, but nothing special… it was just good…

We had a chance to grab some lunch at The Green Table inside Chelsea Market today while exploring the area. Neat small space, we were lucky to grab a table after only a 10 minute wait during the lunch rush. Food: To start I ordered a flight of three local brews to kick off my lunch. Our server recommended was able to describe each variety and made excellent recommendations. For lunch we ordered the Pulled Pork Hoagie, Mac & Cheese, and the Mushroom Pot Pie. Of the three dishes the best was the Mac and Cheese. The Pulled Pork was a little tough and chewy, like it was dried out and then sauced to add back moisture. The bbq sauce was tangy, I wish there was more slaw in the sandwich as it would smooth out the bbq sauce while adding some crunch. The mushroom pot pie was decent, the crust was crispy and flaky, mushrooms in the pie were tasty, but the filling was a little on the soupy side. All the dishes were fresh and presented nicely but we didn’t finish the pot pie or hoagie. Service: Good service, our Host/Server was accommodating, friendly, attentive, managing the flow of guest efficiently. Atmosphere: Small space with a community table just outside the restaurant. We were fortunate to have a seat next to the window which allowed us to people watch the throngs that pass through Chelsea Market. It’s amazing how many people go through here in just a short time! Value: Okay value, on the pricey side but so are all of there other choices here in Chelsea Market. Overall: An okay lunch for us, didn’t knock our socks off but there were good menu options and kudos for bringing in all of the local brews on tap.
