The Famous Chicken Place

This place had great chicken. Love their ½ chicken dark meat and their fried chicken is really delicious! We order here often for a reason!

Come during peak dinner or lunch hours because they will have fresh delicious whole chicken!!! This place is amazing especially if you’re looking to eat healthy. Just grab a whole chicken from this place and make yourself two sides of veggies and there is your dinner. I share the chicken with one other person but if you’re eating alone, you will definitely save some for lunch the next day. Seasoning is on point!!!

They have amazingly good Buffalo Wings. It’s crispy and tasty. The sides that come with it aren’t so good though. Not a fan of the sour cream, but the Wings are totally worth it.

Chicken is dry. Dry chicken is the worst. Spanakopita is greasy. Greasy spanakopita is the worst.

I ordered the chicken and ribs, with sides mac, mashed, and corn. Everything was very good. I will order again. Corn could be buttered ahead of time, but they included on the side. Corn bread would be better instead of pita. Mashed potatoes were good, I like mine a bit salt/​pepper, but all good.

The chicken is good, just good, nice sauce on the side, not enough, but extra is just a few cents, and the accompanying pita is good. Sides are not, yuck. Mashed potatoes taste like plastic. Vegetables are pure mush.
Seamless warning: the time they quote for delivery is meaningless. Quoted 30 min for delivery. Confirmation after ordering was 2 – 2.5 hrs. What the ???

Awful, just awful. My souvlaki just tasted burned. The mac and cheese tastes like Easy Mac, not something I want to pay for from a restaurant.

Incredibly delicious and juicy chicken. OK, soggy pita, and the baked potato was grey and awful. To be honest, I should have known better. Not a fan of cole slaw, but it’s ok. Order the chicken. Period. Incredibly fast delivery by a very nice man was a huge plus.

We order from here twice a week. ½ chicken with greek salad, it is my fatboy meal.
Their salsa is so good! Ask for extra!
We are only a few blocks away, and at around lunch time the food gets here in around 20 minutes, which is great.

My favorite midtown east lunch/​quick dinner spot. Their chicken Caesar salad is so simple yet so good — hits the spot every time. Definitely recommend take out, as place itself isn’t super nice to sit in. Also– get the pita bread!

Absolutely delicious. Their ½ chicken lunch is the best I’ve had in the area. Give it a try if you haven’t yet.

Very disappointing and to be honest I wasn’t expecting anything fantastic either. Wanted some basic, quick, delicious, grilled food.
Ordered the ½ chicken ½ rib meal with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. Ribs were over cooked, tough, and just kind of gross. Potatoes tasted like ready mix made with water and the veggies also just tasted like water.
The chicken was decent but was so disgusted with everything else including the chicken Cesar wrap my girlfriend ordered that the entire meal was ruined.
Not ordering from here again. Good idea but bad execution.

Its okay. Only have experience with ordering through seamless. I personally think its over-​priced for what you get. Chicken is good, everything is just edible. They could spend a little more time on the appearance of things, seems like they just throw everything in a bag. Almost chipped a tooth on the olive pits in the salad which is annoying.

Their ranch dressing is disgusting! 100% without a doubt in my mind their tzatziki sauce is THE WORST I have EVER had in my life! It’s watery with zero flavor. They are pretty skimpy on the lamb (which also tastes off) but don’t worry they make up for it with all the lettuce that they give you in their «salad»

This place is great! I order take out from here all of the time! Honestly I’m a regular, love the fries, ribs and chicken!

I really didn’t know what to think of this place. The Unilocal reviews are mediocre at best but on seamless they were pretty stellar so I took a gamble and ordered the chicken gyro platter and the beef & lamb gyro. The verdict was good. I was pretty impressed, enough so that I’m ordering from them again today. I can’t comment on the service but the meats were seasoned well and flavorful. The lettuce was fresh (Thank goodness) and crisp. The white sauce is a bit watered down and for an extra side of sauce they charge 75 cents. That kinda sucks because these dishes depend on a great white sauce!
The one thing I’m grateful for is that they make a solid gyro. I tend to steer away from ordering gyros because I’ve found them to be mostly «misses» instead of hits in this city. Glad I have another reliable take-​out option in the neighborhood.

The Famous Chicken Place gets the job done!
Earlier this evening I placed an order, through Seamless, for the chicken gyro platter and in just 20 minutes, it was at my door. And not only was the food still warm, but the fries were not yet soggy. Furthermore, everything was nicely packed, with the can of Sprite in a separate brown bag, along with packets of salt and pepper, ketchup, and utensils.
I definitely recommend it if you are in the mood for average Americanized Greek food, Seamless style!

I ordered the chicken soluvaki and chicken tenders both in a pita and fries on the side to go. Small portions and I paid close to $ 20 for everything.
For such a small place and portions, it is not worth it for the price.

I work not too far from «The Famous Chicken Place» but I never knew about it until my boss told me to give it a shot. The fact that they grill their meats on a real grille made it sound like a healthy alternative to the street meat I normally would get (that can get quite greasy at times).
Chicken Place is best described as a hole in the wall. You walk in and it’s a really narrow corridor where you order and they have the grille and fixings bar situated. Beyond that is a seating area with enough room for maybe fifteen people if they squished in.
I ordered the Ceasar Wrap to go which consisted of thin sliced chicken breast grilled with romaine lettuce on a whole wheat wrap. I asked for the dressing on the side and they were kind enough to oblige. I wouldn’t call the service particularly friendly or fast, but the fast part I’m okay with because that meant the wrap was made to order. When it comes to grilled chicken, that’s the way I like it.
The wrap stayed warm for the five blocks it took me to get to my office. With only a bit of dressing here and there it was very tasty and they didn’t skimp on the lettuce or the chicken. The nice grilled char flavor was abundant and the chicken was moist but crispy on the edges. I could tell however that had this sat for a while, the chicken would have dried out.
I enjoyed the food here and look forward to trying their half chicken one day. However I think I’ll definitely take it to go.
