Here on business from Chicago and found Royal down the block and it was great! Great service, too — couldn’t have been nicer!

Had the Grandma, Sicilian Cheese Square, and the Cheese Slice. All were great and you can’t beat it for the price. Family owned place with friendly service! I would definitely recommend it if you’re in the area for a quick bite.

Small, straightforward pizza joint. Friendly service, a nice little selection. Had the mushroom, and it was what I had a hankering for. Soda and tea by the can and bottle. Quiet seating with max room for 22 customers.

Holy ravioli. good pizza just blocks from me and I haven’t known it for 9 years. What’s wrong with me? Read somewhere they have the best Sicilian. Well, the Sicilian slices haven’t looked to good to me when I’ve gone in. But the regular slice was pretty delicious. tasted like a real old NY style slice back in the Bronx good olé’ days of my childhood. And the guy is the friendliest NYC pizza worker out there. On especially glum days I’ll stop in there just to talk to his friendly, cheery self. Yeah, that’s how nice he is and in this mean, cold city, some days you just need that and a real good slice.

Very friendly staff but the pizza was just okay. Dough didn’t have much flavor and neither did anything else — tried the cheese and margherita. Wouldn’t go again and would probably be a 2 star if the staff wasn’t as nice as they were.

Pizza was good and service good early on. Had a couple of slices and sat down to read a book. After a couple of hours the owner suddenly asked me to leave, even though it was a Sunday afternoon and there was no one else in the restaurant. Not a great way to treat customers – I won’t be back.

Came here for a quick lunch the first day of the New Year, my friend wanted to eat New York Pizza one last time before he left New York. Many restaurants were still closed in the early afternoon but after looking through Unilocal and calling places to see if they were open on New Years, this restaurant came to the rescue. Looking at the reviews for this place and the high ratings, my friend and I were excited to try this small hole in the wall pizza joint. Not many choices were displayed, so my friend and I ordered 2 pepperoni pizzas and 1 white cheese pizza that comes with no red sauce. The lack in variety of pizza displayed was probably because they knew not many customers would come in on New Year’s Day. For 3 pizzas the total came out to be $ 10. The pizza was nothing special but it wasn’t horrible. The crust was good but the quality of the pizza felt like it was leftovers from the day before. It just didn’t taste«fresh.» My friend was slightly disappointed because it was not amazing, it was just alright. For us, it tasted just like an average pizza. Definitely a small pizza joint with very few seatings. We ate our pizzas here and it’s a bit cramped in the bank with dim lighting. Gives off that hole in the wall environment. Friendly staff here but I probably won’t be stopping by here again.

Great pizza for the right price. They have a street window, so you can stop and buy a slice and continue your walk. Try it out.

We went late in the evening. Quick to satisfy your pizza craving, however we were given extra garlic knots!

Quick, but the place was small and a bit dirty, the one guy working was friendly though.

It’s way better than other pizza place around. The staff are super friendly. The pizza is really good and huge slides(my guess is the slides are from big size pizza). Two slides are enough for one person. Would definitely come here for quick branch/dinner

Was going to get some pizza but the guy in front of me got a meatball san and it looked really good so I went with that. Tasty, and a good value for the price paid. Pizza looked good too, but didn’t try it.

Best Sicilian slice on the planet. Always taste fresh. Has a walk up window, you can grab and go. Just go. I’m going back today!

I have an absolutely crazy number of check-ins here. But what can I say? It’s my go-to lunch place. It’s pretty tiny, a little dingy — that’s how you know it’s good, after all. The whole place feels very old school. The staff, too, fit right in with the image — a little gruff, still a little friendly. I can dig this place. Two Sicilian slices, 5 dollars. I tell em to heat it lightly, otherwise they’ll keep it in too long and it turns a bit black, which is the only reason I took a star off. But now that they know my order and how to prepare it, I’ll keep coming back. Go for the pizza, stay for the… Well don’t actually stay, there’s little seating and it really is kind of dingy. But definitely go for the pizza.

I’m originally from the Greater NYC area so I know good flat crust NY pizza. Given the high rating(4 stars) I saw, I assumed I was in for a treat as most of the time I just stop into any hole in the wall in the city and am pleased at the least. Nice people, but man, even after several drinks I was disappointed. I can’t quite figure how people are rating it so highly unless it’s a friends/family thing. If you are looking for authentic NY style pizza, this is not the place. Sorry Royal Pizza, nothing personal. Maybe it’s Greek style pizza? Not sure…

Love the old sign. If they are smart, they won’t change it. The square slice is very solid. I definitely enjoyed it. Nice«old ny» place.

You could do a lot worse for lunch in midtown. I really enjoy their Sicilian slice. The number of calories is only justified if truly tasty, and this is tasty. Its the perfect density and texture. Gooey mass of cheese but not so much that the crust can’t support it. The crust is not stale. The crust is not soggy. The crust is not rubbery. The crust is crusty. Thanks!
