AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!
I’ve never ever had such an awful experience with any establishment, be it a bar, club or restaurant. And I didn’t even step foot in the door. Some friends said they were at the DL, and I said I’d meet them there. I show up around 12:45 am, see a line of about 40 – 50 people. Not too bad I can wait.
Group after group of girls are pulled out of line and let in, some leaving their poor male friends alone in line. Oh well, it’s that kind of bar. There are only 20 people ahead of me, how bad could it be?
Fast forward over an hour later — there are somehow now more than 30 people in front of me. We’re cramped in line, and I finally ask the bouncer what the deal is. He said I might get in within the hour (~3:15). I hadn’t seen anyone that wasn’t a gaggle of scantily clad females get in since I got in line. Yet I had seen at last 100 people leave.
Needless to say, I left with an extremely sour taste in my mouth. I waited nearly an hour and a half for nothing. Bouncers were extremely rude to top it off.
Snapped a pic on the way out, to show you how «at capacity» this bar was. Nothing would make me happier than to see this place go out of business. Unbelievable.

I went to the DL for a promotional event through Fever; they offered complimentary drinks for 2hrs and free bbq; it was as wonderful as it sounds, except for a few things:
— The line was super long, not only you had to wait in line to arrive upstairs but there was another line awaiting upstairs to get your bracelet and ticket for food.
–They gave out free $ 20 gift cards that I tried to use at the bar and the bar tender, in a very snobbish way said she never saw those gift cards so she could not accept them. They were giving them out to Everyone, and I emphasize Everyone that walked through the door!
–Rude bartenders, but the rest of the staff was very nice
The whole «promotion» event was very unorganized. It was clear that they were trying to attract a younger crowd, by giving out free drinks, but should of organized/​informed the staff better.
Bright side: The rooftop bar is very big, there’s plenty of space to sit, dance or stand.
The music choice was on point too! The downstairs bar is beautiful too, and if you decide to go somewhere else afterwards there’s plenty of other places around.

I will not recommend this place to anyone. I was there last night for a birthday party. I was on the roof and my girls and I went had to go to the bathroom. Because the line was too long for the roof bathroom we decided to go to the bathroom on the bottom floor. When I was washing my hands I went to grab a mint from the mint box and the bathroom attending man grab my shoulder and wrist and started yelling that I cannot take one without paying a tip. I told him do not touch me but he would not let go. After I went to the host to complain her respond was not to get a manager but saying, «I’m not the person to tell this to go find the manager.» I cannot go to a place where I am manhandle and no nothing is done to correct the problem.

I can’t knock on this place. The prices are on the pricier side and the party got started a bit later than normal on the night I came by but it was my wife’s bday celebration and one great thing they did for me (sans bottle service) is that the bouncers really honored my guest list which is hard to come by these days! All I did was call them and reserved a guest list for 15 people and everyone was in by 12AM so there were no door issues! Thanks for making my night go smoothly!

Worse experience ever. I created Unilocal just to complain about this place. A cockroach literally crawled on my ankle as I sat in the bar. The place is soooo dirty. The staff is racist. There are so many great rooftop bars in NYC … DON’T GO TO THIS ONE!

This might be the worse bar in the area to go to. If I was able to give it no stars I would. On a Saturday night I came here with two other females. The bouncers are disgusting. The drinks are poorly made and the staff is very much bias and blatantly racist against African Americans.
The blatantly disrespect from the management at this establishment is disgusting. I would seriously advise anyone in the area looking for a place to hang out and have a good time go to a different spot.
After waiting an hour in line the lady that «gathers and pulls» individuals into the goes up to a group of white females who were on the street and asks if they’re trying to get into this club. They said yes and the lady goes «stand in the back of the line and I’ll pull you like you have a table reservation.»
The bouncer even thought it was so funny as to continue to laugh in our faces once we told him what happened.
Do not give this establishment your money. Especially as an African American don’t invest your money into an establishment that cannot even provide a service for you.

I came here with 15 friends and we had our own table. My purse was hidden under all of our coats and it was somehow stolen. Even though you may have your own private table, they will find a way to get it. Trust me. There were guys around us sitting close to our table that were sketchy and «drunk,» but I’m pretty sure they were just acting and they stole it. BEWARE!
Worst experience!!!

Came here for an open bar hosted by techdrinkup NYC. The rooftop here was nice but I wished there had been a bit more actual outdoor space. Guess there’s not that much to see though.
Drinks were pretty meh. Low quality vodka combined with run of the mill mixers. Not sure what it’s like here on the weekends but I wasn’t super impressed.

I wish I could give this place negative stars. The most rude and aggressive and violent bouncers I’ve ever seen. I witnessed my friend getting thrown on the ground and kicked in the face multiple times by two different bouncers.
Astonishing that people even come here considering what goes on. And if you read all of the other horrible reviews on this place, we clearly weren’t the only ones who had that experience.
Absolutely shocking…

Came for the Everyday People day party, it’s 46 degrees & they have the rooftop open and fans on. They’re not even playing music that warrants sweat.
$ 16 for Henny & cranberry?! Tf. I almost felt bad for the dude that bought it for me.
Wait over an hour and half to be seated in the almost empty restaurant because somehow the GM was overwhelmed?! HOW?! The kitchen staff is clearly bored.
Waitress, passive aggressive attitude gyal.

Food but no utensils or napkins. I love it.

Worst bar on Delancey. Its understandable to keep a certain gender ratio in your venue to keep up appearances but clearly thats the only thing they have going for them. If you’re absolutely desperate to go inside, be sure to get on line 2 days in advance before 11pm with a whole high school cheerleading team (cause they really don’t check ids if you have a $ 20 bill covering your face) to bypass the pre-​line. But don’t be surprised when you have to wait another century just to get your ID checked. Drinks were watered down and the DJ will most likely have you thinking he’s spinning fire but its really just pandora with some random shout outs thrown in the middle.
Business is business and if you can make an extra dollar taking advantage of people’s FOMO, why not capitalize? but it really does damper the experience when the management is openly shady af.

I went to the DL for the first time Friday ¾/​16 to celebrate my daughter’s 21^st Birthday. I paid for a table in advance to make sure my daughter would enjoy her night with no fuss… but when we got there I was told we didn’t have a table… huh…to say I was upset is an understatement. The manager Brian had to be called to try to figure out the situation. needless to say my daughters bday celebration got off to a rocky start.
I have to say I thought Brian was awesome! He went out of his way to fix the error, he was patient the whole time and never blamed us for anything. He even bought us a round of drinks on him while he was trying to resolve the situation. The staff in general I thought was very nice. Once everything was figured out, my daughter had a blast and definitely enjoyed her Birthday night. I gave it 4 stars because my daughter enjoyed her night due to the fact that The DL staff cared about resolving a problem and making us happy.

I’ve had many parties here/​Police functions and had a blast every time! I’m primarily speaking of the upstairs, nicely laid out & decorated, Tropical feel, relaxed atmosphere w clean unisex bathrooms, the center bar is HUGE, it’s the focal point to meet and hang out with your friends/​coworkers, fully stocked with top shelf and did I mention it’s Huge! LOL the bartenders are all fantastic! They serve up really good potent drinks and always make sure your glass is replenished, all the food they serve is delicious, love the dance floor love the view! The DL is where it’s at!

Long lines and very crowded inside. Impossible to get a drink from the bar — and if you’re able to its extremely overpriced. Worst place I’ve been on Delancey.
The scene is horrible. Mostly under aged college guys using fake IDs. We noticed the bouncers taking cash tips in line from kids without IDs.
You will have a much better time at one of the many better bars just a block or two north on Ludlow street.

3 years of DL every now and then is always fun!
It’s one of the place to go and enjoy good crowd in NYC. The location is great because it is close to all the nightlife action of down town Manhattan.
I suggest you dress to impress, $$$ for your booze because it is not so cheap in here but the drinks are always worth it!
Come early like 10, the line could get a little long outside except if you know one of the promoters and get listed as guest then you are good.
So if you are looking for some good night fun night, visit this place! 5

Went with a group for someone’s birthday, and the place was packed. I have a thing for palm fronds so this place definitely gets a vote in my book: upstairs area is a «rooftop» with a roof with a giant bar in the middle. Gorgeous décor and strong drinks, rooftop is not really a dancing area but I think the downstairs area has dancing going on (more of a bar vibe, while roof is for loungers). Plenty of seating or stand if that’s your thing.
Confession: I used to think the DL was the cool name for Delancey’s. NOT TRUE two totally different (though both with palm fronds) places!

Our group of eight had quite the negative experience here on Halloween night. My friend had already spoken to the staff a few days prior to make a reservation and to find out what it would take to get ourselves a private seating area and she was told we had to spend a minimum of $ 200. When we got there, one of the girls working there said it was a minimum of $ 1600. Long story short, an argument ensued and eventually we were all asked to leave. The terrible customer service left a really bad taste in our mouths. Luckily, because it was Halloween, there were plenty of other parties to attend so we got over it pretty quickly.
Prior to the snafu, we definitely enjoyed the music and the décor. I’d say it’s worth a visit if you’re not trying to do anything special because it looks like several other people have had some bad experiences with reservations also.

This bar is for your post college girls with mommy or daddys credit card who are just looking for some fake trendy bar to seem cool with their friends and have not experienced the city yet and need a go to drunk spot.
The downstairs is made up tables lounging and some decent music the upstairs is the worst design for a bar/​club area I have ever seen. It has the a very large bar as a main center piece which everyone crowds around. This is good for the owner because it forces people to be around the bar since it takes up the whole center of the room.
Instead of this large bar there should be a bunch of bars on the sides of the room to allow a large dance floor and focus on the consumer.
Overall this has got to be one of the worst bar/​clubs in NYC.

Pure GAR-​BA-​GE. No need to elaborate. Rude people. Too warm. Icky drinks. Basically one of the worst places you could possibly go to if you were thinking about having a good time. AVOID.
Ps. Don’t come here wearing nice things. There’ll be a gross drink spilled on you every 5 min.

This place can be really hit or miss, depending on the type of crowd thats around the night you come. A few friends and I came here on a Saturday night for some dinner and then proceeded our way to the rooftop. Dinner was good, nothing which made much of an impression on me but I still enjoyed it. The cocktails here though, are somewhat intriguing to me. They’re not the best cocktails that you’d get at cocktail and mixology lounges, but they’re still pretty strong here and will do a number on you.
The rooftop is where the main party is at for most of the night with a wide variety of music, but the 2^nd floor is for the hip-​hop lovers. Unfortunately the 2^nd floor opens at 1am on Saturday nights so you’d have to wait a bit before you get there. Its a good place to be on a Saturday night in the area if you’re trying to avoid paying a cover charge.
