We had dinner last night at DOL,(third or fourth time there). Have to say the food and drinks were great and has been every time we have gone there. Had the cucumber martini, mussels as an app, Arctic char and hanger steak. Drinks pricey at $ 14 but that’s the usual NYC price. Food is very reasonably priced and good portions. Just wish they had a happy hour since there are so many others in the area.

Places that try to do two things usually fail at one or both of them. This place obviously tried to be a trendy restaurant with a lounge which few places pull off. Stanton social and some of the meat packing places do it better. The bouncers and roped off line seemed superfluous as the place was neither crowded or rowdy enough to need it. The décor with the large chandeliers seem too much for what actually is decent food and okay prices by New york standard. They were not all that busy on a Friday night as never were more than half the tables full from 9−11pm though more people seemed to show up later in the night. The food is basic french/american bistro food with hanger steak with fries, brick chicken on the menu. Most of the entrees were in the low 20s and came with enough sides that almost did not need to buy the extra ones. I had some from drinking and eating a light app size amount of food beforehand so skipped the apps none of which looked all that great though waiter recommended the chicken meatballs. Both the chicken and pork chop were well cooked. They sadly were out of the chardonnay as supposedly was missing from their order. Did have a fume blanc which is not a great alternative if you like oaky chards. Service was okay though think they only had one waiter for whole place which was not bad due to few tables though if did by chance get swamped would be a problem. If they had gone back in time and just tried to be a slighly more affordable american/french bistro with good food and left out the over the top lounge and look this place I think would be better. They likely could charge a little bit less and not need to bring people in with deals. As it stands if buy a deal you can save enough to bring price down to what this place should cost and you can ignore the few people actually using place as a lounge. This was my second time here and likely will come again if stays in business.

Went here with a date on a Wednesday. Perfect setting, nice lighting(and chandeliers) and quiet(meaning you can talk!), really romantic. Had 2 orders of the pork belly!!!, it was to die for, had steak frites, truffle fries and moules mariniere. Excellent! Way cheaper than Balthazar but almost as good. Wine selection was very good and surprisingly decent pricing. You get a bang for the buck for the French cuisine selection in this place. This is probably a good secret place for a weekday dinner date. Although I don’t like the LES scene much, I really like this place and the service is quite good too. Am not sure how it is weekends, probably noisy due to spillovers from the club.

This place was kind of sad. It’s across from Hotel Chantelle, which had a huge line on the Saturday night we were there. Meanwhile, DL was letting anyone in, desperate for customers. We tried it out as one of our friends said he had had a good time here once. Downstairs was deserted. We got a couple of drinks and headed upstairs to the clubbing area. Upstairs was tropically themed, which cool be cool or tacky, depending. The music was hip hop, but I didn’t recognize any of the songs. The dance floor was empty. There were many, many guys standing around looking awkward or forlorn. We stayed just long enough to finish our drinks and then high-tailed it outta there. I think this place has potential, but it’s not there yet. Perhaps they should hire a famous dj for a one-time event and get their fans here and then people would come back if they had fun.

Honestly I don’t remember how the food tasted because by time it came, I was too hungry to appreciate any flavors. I gulped that burger and fries down in 5 minutes . Which is to say… The service! oh gosh ! We got there at 3pm waited forever at the bar to get a table and when we finally sat down, we didn’t get to eat until 4.40. The place didn’t seem so crowded so I dont get why it took the server and the hostess so long for everything… Lack of organization, slow kitchen or maybe the fact that they had the EveryDayPeople party upstairs.

We had a part of give and each ordered a different dish to sample and we were very happy with everything. Sea bass was scrumptious, roasted chicken was my favorite because it was so tender and crispy at the same time and it was served on a bed of chard. We had the steak which was cooked to perfection. The lamb appetizer was delicious

Came here for a conference sponsored by a drug company. The décor is classy with a lot of chandeliers. Nice looking restaurant, setting the stage for a enjoyable and fun dinner. But looks can be deceiving, the quality of the food was a disappointment. We had to share the appetizers, which was a fish tartare and some meatballs. The tartare was fresh and flavorful. The meatball was ok, not much flavor. Next, we had a cup of soup but it seem like it was more of a gravy since it was so salty. It was to the point that it was undrinkable. I just ate the beef pieces and mushroom that was in the soup. Surprisingly those are not too overly salty. For entrée I had their hangar steak which came with a side of mash potatoes and shallots. The mash potatoes was a little too buttery. The shallot was flavorful and delicious. The steak was a little salty, tough, and chewy. At the end we had dessert, but it was again shared. The donut was pretty good and wasn’t too sweet. Overall, the food quality is not that great. Didn’t really like our server because of the little things he did. My wife asked for a white wine and he gave us a red wine. He also made us help him pass down the cups of soup instead of putting one in front of each person personally.

I came here with a deal($ 25 off of $ 50). I made a reservation but I was a bit late. I thought that I would have to wait a long time but fortunately, there were a couple tables still open. When we first sat down, our waiter came by and asked us if we were here with a voucher. I’m guessing many people come with a voucher. When I showed him my voucher, he gave it to the hostess. I had the Arctic char and my BF had the hanger steak. We also ordered a side of their truffle fries. Their food was a good amount. It was pretty good but still didn’t think it was worth the price. Getting that voucher made dinner more ok. The ambiance is nice. There is leather seats and chandeliers giving it a vintage and home like feel. The bathroom was kind of weird where you go down stairs and it kind of gave me an eerie vibe. I’m not sure if I would come back again. But it is worth a try.

This place is 3 floors of awesomeness. The food is absolutely amazing. I had the scallops, chicken meatballs, hangar steak and the sea bass. The waiter Raj made our evening fantastic. His customer service and personality made us feel comfortable and at home. I sent my brother and his wife there for dinner the day after I went and they loved the place as well.

Great music and the food tastes great. But unfortunately the service was terrible and the portions were so small. We didn’t get the drinks we ordered until after we asked several times.

I was very confused when I arrived, knowing I was meeting a friend here for dinner and that we had a 6pm reservation on a Sunday night. There was a long line on the side of the building, red ropes up, and 3 or 4 bouncers allowing people«on the list» to enter. I felt instantly that I didn’t belong even before I entered, because everyone waiting to get in was wearing tons of makeup and 4 inch heels. Eventually I got up the nerve to go up to one of the bouncers and say I had a reservation for dinner. He questioned me, «You have a RESO?», I said yes, and he opened the door to let me in. I found my friend at a table on the first floor(the venue has 3 floors, with lounges and dancing upstairs). The restaurant part of the venue was quite empty. Only 3 tables were eating dinner. It was loud with thumpy music on the soundsystem, and quite dimly lit. I did like the mutliple chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, which served as both décor and lighting. We had a coupon for $ 50 off $ 75, so my friend and I each had a cocktail, appetizer and an entrée to make sure we spent at least $ 75. My cucumber martini was tasty but mostly juice. I had the mussels for my appetizer, and they were served with crusty bread. The broth they were cooked in was delicious, but I think the mussels were a little old or overcooked, because they were chewy and difficult to get out of the shell. For dinner I had the beef stroganof. The menu said this was braised short ribs, but either the meat was totally underbraised, or it was actually cooked in the oven. The meat was incredibly tough, not tender the way braised short ribs should be. And the dark lighting didn’t make the food look more appetizing. But I will say the portions were generous, and the service was good.

I really enjoyed our dinner here. The 4 of us had a bottle of cotes de rhone(well 2 bottles tbh). Wine was excellent and $ 48 a bottle, not terribly expensive. We ordered for appetizers: — beet and goat cheese salad, greens, minimal stressing, beets and goat cheese balls? Yaas. Gee only way it could’ve been improved would be to make the cheese balls warmer. — chicken meatballs, melt in your mouth delicious. These were awesome. — we ordered mac and cheese with bacon, it came out without any bacon, we brought this to our waiters attention so he brought us another with bacon for free, so naturally we ate alll of the mac and cheese. It was delicious. Entrée, I had the roast special which was duck(juicy, tender, perfect) au gratin potatoes and green beans Dessert: jelly doughnuts, worth sharing I ate one and I didn’t really want another one. I was so full. I am totally going to come back and try brunch.

Stay away from this place… Douches and tasteless crowds galore who think spending ridiculous amounts of money for a drink give them status. It is a disgusting place from the get go! I ended up stuck in this hole because of a after work event. I knew I shouldn’t have come in but I did because I kind of had to. Seriously! don’t get in here if you have a little bit of self respect!

My first impression upon walking into this place was not good. First of all, its a B rating on the window, which isn’t bad. But to me, I can’t help but think, Be careful! Second, as soon as we check in with the host, they immediately asked for a coupon or certificate. Is that the only reason people come to dine? Or are you ALREADY profiling me as a cheapskate shopper? I mean, yes I am but… that’s weird to ask for it as soon as I check in. Third, he asked to keep my cell phone so he can make sure the coupon is marked as used. No dude, I’m not leaving my cell phone with you. I’ll wait. After that unpleasant welcome, we are seated and handed our menus. We find appealing things to order and my husband orders for the table. The food comes out and ok, they’ve redeemed themselves. Everything was delicious! What a relief because we wanted to make sure my family had a good time eating some New American food. It was their first time dining in New York! We loved the Salmon, Short Rib Beef Stroganoff and Chicken.

The atmosphere here is great for a night out with friends. There are 4 floors, and each floor has a slightly different vibe. When we came here on a Saturday night, we spent most of our time on the top floor. It was kind of clubby – dark, with some party lights(a lot of purple/blue lighting). The bartender was nice and quick about taking orders. The crowd was mixed – some people were dressed in full on club attire, bodycon dresses and stilettos for women, button down and khakis for guys seemed to be the norm, but then there were also people in jeans and nice tops. The dance floor on the top floor was bumpin’. The bathroom(women’s) was stocked with beauty products for touch-ups, but the line was slow and terrible. Pretty typical for a women’s bathroom in any bar/lounge/club. Wasn’t too clean but there were attendants rushing in to make sure stuff stayed relatively okay. Overall, it was laid back. Drinks aren’t cheap, but won’t completely break the bank either. I got a vodka soda for about $ 10, and a couple shots that added up to around $ 40.

Noticed this place going to Hotel Chantelle since it’s across the street. We came on a Sunday night for dinner-it was pretty empty but there was a party going on upstairs. The many chandeliers were pretty and I liked the décor and high ceilings of the place. The food was all good I tried the burger that comes on a English muffin, Truffle Parmesan fries which were a favorite and the vegan bolognese. Portions were all pretty big!

I stopped by this week with a deal from Gilt City. We sat at the bar & started w some cocktails(1) Orient Express, good drink nice taste(2) Ludlow Lane nice taste needs some alcohol tho For our meal we tried(3) The Mediterranean chopped salad, small portion but not bad(4) Chicken meatballs. Amazing practically melt in your mouth definitely the favorite(5) Truffle fries not bad. Next round of cocktails was(6) Georgia peach good taste(7) Coco loco aside from the funky green color nice drink. The place itself is not very big, nicely decorate good service at the bar & with out the deal prices seem decent enough. The food was good, it be nicer If portions were bigger.
