Went for dinner and show at Lucky Chengs for a Bachlorette Party I organized. The drinks were ok. Ordered the pootang in a shareable fish bowl. The food sadly left a lot to be desired. The food was not fresh or made there or anything special. Definitely 3 apps and 3 entrees served family style for 7 left us all hungry. The desserts were also basic. The show was ok. I was really expecting more theatrics but the artists were entertaining and looked fabulous. It was more of a comedy skit with bad karoake by the waitresses. The bride to be had fun and thats what matters. If you go make sure you have dinner plans before or after the show. And as stated by the hostess«This is not Kinky Boots on Broadway. If easily offended than go somewhere else». Be prepared from an intense lap dance.

The food is not good. Each drag queen did one song, and it was pricey. Not not not worth it. We asked four times to get water. It’s supposed to be a popular place for bachelorette parties, but spend your money elsewhere.

If I could give this place a zero I would. Flew into town for my friend’s bachlorette party. Had 8pm reservations for tonight. Pulled up in the party bus with 11 other women and was told 8 pm show was canceled. No notice, claimed there was an «in house problem» which who the hell knows what that means. After driving all the way from Jersey to come here all he could offer was a drink at the bar. After dealing with the lame excuse of a manager and then going downstairs to use the bathroom, only to see their kitchen is next to the bathroom and they run their food through the hallway in between the mens and womens room where you have to wash your hands, I would never come to this place ever again, and wouldn’t want to touch their food. And to top it all off having to scramble to find another spot to go to. Thank you for almost ruining what should be the most fun night filled with fun memories before my best friend’s wedding!

I want to Lucky Cheng’s With Friends. Be an incredibly entertaining night. FACILITY The space is pretty clean and small. So be warned that you will be elbow-to-elbow with a stranger. FOOD The food was pretty good. I found that the pineapple chicken and vegetables were amazing. They were very for the flavorful and the pineapple and vegetables paired well. Avoid the fried rice. It is incredibly oily. SHOW The show was hilarious. The ladies engaged with the audience members. They made a show unlike anything I’ve seen.

we came here for a friends birthday this past saturday. at first, i wanted a more calm and quiet restaurant to celebrate but was out-voted. when we arrived, i still wanted a more calm and quiet restaurant but as soon as our drag waitress greeted us, i knew we were in the correct setting. i forgot her name but she was hilarious. the food was actually not bad at all. we devoured everything with no complaints which i’m amazed at cuz my friends looooove to complain at restaurants. the best thing about the night there was the show. the host/hostess of the show, pauline had me cackling the whole time! she was funny as hell and super witty! needless to say we had an awesome evening. would love to see pauline again. she was a hoot!

I’ve been to Lucky Chengs a ton of times, but it never gets old! All of the girls are a riot, especially the main host. Always amazing to watch her get a good one in on my friends. The space is intimate and perfectly lit, and they serve dinner. I’ve been here both for bachelorette parties and just a night out with friends. It’s better than a regular dinner experience before going out, you get some great laughs, and even hilarious erotic balloons. Would highly recommend!

This is our third time there and although the food is not the greatest, the girls and the show sure make it completely worth every dollar. It was a total blast and we had a great time. Brie is the best of the best and made the night so much fun. Worth the time if you are looking for a fun, New York experience.

I found them very easy to work with and accommodating to us! I booked this for a friend’s bachelorette party. She had a blast, and so did we! Mother Mary Helen was hilarious, and our server, Gretchen, was very speedy and funny. The food isn’t out of this world, but let’s be real, that’s not why you go to a drag show. Thanks for a great night!

Awful customer service and terrible management. I made a reservation for my sisters surprise 25th birthday because she mentioned that she wanted to come here. When I made the reservation, I made it for 20 people. The deadline to confirm the reservation was 2 days prior. I called that day and changed it to 17 people but told the girl it may be 15 people. She told me I can call the next day and speak to a manager but she was sure it wouldn’t be a problem. When I called the next day, the really rude gentleman on the phone told me «I don’t care what the girl said. She doesn’t even work for us. You can call till you’re blue in the face but it doesn’t mean I can change your reservation». When I asked to speak to a manager, I was informed that he doesn’t come to the phone. Ok fine. I made sure to fill the quota. The next day I called just to make sure the reservation was under the birthday girl and not my name so that people wouldn’t be confused when they came in. I was very rudely told that they can’t do that. Ok, strike 2. Now let’s fast forward to the day of the event. We ended up with 17 people but one person really did not feel well. I spoke to the manager and he did not charge us for the extra person which was nice. The appetizers were decent but the main courses were awful. I couldn’t even touch them they were so bad and I’m not a picky eater. The show was fun because we were the only table that had men at it so they were picked for everything. Now the bill. We had 16 people and were told we can use a maximum of 5 credit cards which we were not told previously. We aren’t drinkers so the bill came out to $ 75pp. We ended up collecting 620 in cash and the rest was to be put on the cards. Somehow the cards were charged 80pp and one card WASCHARGEDTHEENTIREREMAINDEROFTHEBILL. So my friend gets charged almost $ 1000 and when she should have been charged $ 75. When we bring this up to the waitress, we get yelled at and told that it’s not a real charge and it’s pending. My friend quickly logs into her bank account and sees that there is a hold of $ 1000. When she told the waitress this, she treated it like we were wasting her time and we are a bunch of idiots. The manager was called over and treated us the same way. I understand mistakes happen but at least apologize for it. My friend was completely understanding. She just wanted proof that the transaction did not actually go through. The manager huffed and puffed that she dared to ask for a receipt. Ultimately we got an apology from the waitress but it was only because she overheard us talking about how rude she was and that the least she can do is admit she made a mistake and apologize. My advice– check your bill. Make sure everything is kosher, especially if you give any money in cash bc I’m 99% positive they didn’t apply the right amount to the bill. Go for the show, not the food even though I’ve seen much better drag shows. Even intermezzo, a low key spot in Chelsea is better. When you make a reservation, low ball the number of people just in case. It’s always easier to add on than to take off.

The actual show is hilarious especially when you see the drag queens doing lap dances on the men. It gets pretty packed so you obviously have to make reservations ahead of time. They do a couple of sideshows so it’s pretty entertaining. The food is not great so don’t expect it to be as good as the show.

I threw my best friends bachelorette party here it was great entertainment we were a barrel of laughs the entire time. I called about a week ahead of time to set the venue for the bachelorette shenanigans. The staff that answers the phones were extremely courteous and friendly since I had to call a few times to rearrange the amount of people that will be attending. I was emailed a credit card authorization form to book for the 10 o’clock performance which had a 48 hour cancellation policy which was fine I understand if you don’t cancel they will charge you the full amount for each person that doesn’t attend which is a whopping $ 55. Lucky Cheng’s is a place that I would totally pass on the street and not notice it would be cool if they had some LED lighting outside the venue to make it more noticeable to the public. As you enter there’s a staircase that takes you to the first floor where they hold their party performances if you go up another level of stairs they have a huge room with the center bar which is pretty large to pre-drink if you would like before going to one of their shows. after 12 o’clock it seems to turn into what seems to be like a club my friends and I came back upstairs after the show and it was packed with people dancing and having a good time. For all shows you’re allowed in at the exact time it’s supposed to start. Many tables set up with chairs for groups of people. This place is the total bachelorette party scene as you’re seated the waitress will come around take your drink orders and have you order from the single sheet menu since it’s family-style ordering three appetizers and three entrées let me be clear this is not a place where you come for the food it’s mediocre and touristy. You come here for the show and the drag queens are absolutely out of this world amazing they know how to put on a show now with that being said this is not the place to come if you’re easily offended because trust me they will insult you and make fun of you in front of everyone. hilarious! Before the show starts a guy will go around make balloons of whatever you would like of course you’re going to have to tip him. And then a drag queen will come around and ask you who’s in charge and if anybody would like a lap dance and gives you a list of different lap dances for you to choose from. You’ll just have to slip them 25 bucks for the lap dance for whoever you wish to receive it. You’re guaranteed a wild and crazy good time for a bachelorette party so if you’re planning one here I guarantee you will have a blast. I know my best friend did since she said she had the best night of her life. They’re known for their pink pussy drinks but let’s be honest I really didn’t enjoy it I felt like it way too strong and the flavor didn’t work for me. Just a heads up to think about if you’re planning an event here with the group let your members of the group know to spend approximately $ 85 a person without drinks including that would cover only the food show tax and gratuity if you’re having drinks that would be an additional cost. Enjoy the show I know I did!!!

Show was amazing!!! I thought I was going to loose my voice from laughing so hard. Food was horrible and so were the drinks– very expensive too. You really are paying for the show but it’s totally worth it. I’m not sure if you can go for just the show. Either way, you should definitely experience this awesome time.

I came here for my sister’s bachelorette. I read really bad reviews about this place prior to coming here. My expectations were very low to say the least. However, I found the entire evening a lot of fun and worth every penny. You really don’t come here for the food. You come for the entertainment. For $ 50(exclusive of drinks, tax, and tip), you get to be offended and picked on throughout the whole night. The drag queens make it their priority to offend everyone in the room. If you don’t have a sense of humor, this is not your place. The evening lasted about 2 and a half hours. The actual drag show was under 2 hours. After the show, one of the drag queens took us upstairs to The DL rooftop. It was a pleasant surprise to end the night with some dancing and more drinks.

Food leaves something to be desired. The entertainment is fabulous but the overall venue is a bit tight. The servers also bus way too quickly and we lost a lot of unfinished cocktails while(if) we were away from the table. A great place to have a good time and some laughs.

I had a great time. My girls took me here for my bachelorette party — we are older, so going bar hopping and getting stupidly drunk didn’t appeal to us. The food was meh — but the servers and the MC were HILARIOUS! I was holding my sides the moment I walked in. If you don’t mind inappropriate jokes and you are not sensitive, then this place is for you. The drinks were okay, the food wasn’t what I expected, but I didn’t really go there expecting a cuisine. After, we all walked upstairs to a place called the DL. I appreciated we didn’t have to go far to finish up the night.

I came here for your«traditional bachelorette experience» on 1⁄17 and had a ridiculously good time. I wasn’t expecting to have as much fun as I did, but come on how could you not here?! We had tickets to the late show and were able to hang out downstairs at a bar while we waited to be brought up for seating. Once we were brought up, the experience began immediately in the hallway with the balloon guy John Murdock. He is hilarious, wildly inappropriate and totally what you want to start your night off with. He made a giant ejaculating penis balloon for my friend lol. this place is not for those of you who are«stick in the muds’ you need to come here to let loose and have a good time. Next up, my personal favorite, Sister Mary Helen our fierce server… oh she served! Laughs all night, refills all night and did I mention huge belly laughs ALLNIGHTLONG. Also, her rendition of «Turn Back Time’ had everybody singing. Let’s be honest, if I could of made her my new best friend well I would have. Our hostess with the mostest(name is escaping me) in the bondage costume with the snarky in your face beyond hilarious commentary throughout the night stole my heart. I am still quoting her two weeks later. yes, that good. The drinks were delightful. I drank Pink Pussy’s all night which were a super yummy vodka concoction. I highly recommend. The food was eh, but it’s not what you’re going there for so keep that in mind. You are there for the entertainment, cheeks hurting from laughing so hard, buzz from the alcohol and memories to reminisce on with your friends for days to come. Also, bring small bills along(wish I knew ahead of time) to tip your entertainers. They work damn hard for it.

Is this place entertaining?! Yes but there’s only so much impersonations and singing a persons can endure. The place is kind of sad and rundown looking but not dirty. Food was eh but serving was a lot. The drinks are made well and make sure after you’re done head upstairs to the DL lounge!

I’m between a 3 and a 3.5, but I’ll go with a 4. A friend recommended this as a good NY experience. It’s very easy to get to. Reservations are recommended. It’s pricey on the weekends, $ 50 for dinner and the show. We paid thinking that it would be good to do at least once. The show was worth it, but the food was not. My chicken and mashed potatoes plate had no seasoning, while my friend’s chicken meatballs tasted off to her. No one explained what desert was… it just showed up at the table at some point. The signature cocktails aren’t bad though! Food aside, the show was GREAT. We had a wonderful server. It was hilarious and engaged the audience directly. The girls look fabulous. I paid for my recently married friend to get a lap dance, and it was so worth it. In summary, you’ll go for the show, not the food. I wish there was a way to pay a cover and just sit at the bar to watch.

Had a «FABULOUSFIERCE» time! The entertainment was very good. I laughed the entire time! If you’re ready to have a fun time visit, if you’re a stick-in-the-mud stay your arse home! The whole point of the experience is embracing the experience! I gave it 4 stars cause the food was okay, nothing I would rave about.

Can’t say too much about this place, it’s an experience if you’re into entertainment when you dine. Cover of 50 per person for family size portions. The food was okay, you’re not paying for fine dining but for the entertainment which is good for an experience. You get to pick 3 out of 5 items. We ordered Salmon, beef fried rice and roasted chicken. Edible. Drinks are pricey so order wisely and the pink pussy is an awesome drink for 2. Buy the large one(more cost efficient). Oh BTW don’t order a mojito, apparently no one makes them anymore. Oh, don’t forget your 1 dollar bills for tipping! Space a bit small so it can feel as though you’re on top of everyone

Last night i took a friend visiting from berlin, to the new pop up Lucky Cheng’s.OMG, we had a riotously rocking fun time!!! we had the salmon dinner, and the shrimp appetizer, which were both tasty and cooked to perfection. Our lovely waitress Tobell Von Cartier, attended to our every need. The show hostess, Japanese f-ing biatch was sparkling and spectacular. Leila Lancing the bartender, made us fabulous cocktails, and then got up and wowed the crowd with outrageous performance antics. Tobel got up and sang[not lip-synced ] an original dance track. Its great to have Lucky Cheng’s DOWNTOWN again, reviving the east village/l.e.s with much needed old school charm, and hilarity!!!
