Good selection of small plates. The highlight were the wings and Brussel sprouts. Cool atmosphere but not the quality of food I would expect for the price. Cocktails however were exceptional and it seemed like there were some good happy hour specials we missed. May have to come back and give happy hour a try.

My fiancée and I were in NYC to see Stomp. The Copper Still is nearby so we went in for a bite and of course a drink. They have a fantastic selection of bourbons and whiskeys. By fantastic I mean they have like 240!!! They also offer two sizes so you can order a few small drinks to be able to try a few different ones. Our bartender was very knowledgeable and knew just what to make for this bourbon novice. He was a lot of fun too!!! We stayed for hours and had a great time!!! The food was good too!!! I loved the Chicken Cordon Bleu fritters(they are better than the ones I make) and the Smoked Salmon plate. My fiancée enjoyed the meatball appetizer and loved the Mac n Cheese!!! Next time we’re in NYC, we will defiantly go back!

I’ve been searching for a good bottomless mimosa brunch place in the area and this one is a pretty good choice! Came here on a Saturday around early afternoon and I was shocked to see there was no wait at all and was quickly seated. The food was so very good, we started with the Brussels sprouts appetizer which was amazing! Fried and so crispy and sweet! I would come back here for the Brussels sprouts alone. Then for breakfast I made my own omelet, nothing super spectacular but still pretty good. As for the mimosas, they were a little heavy on the orange juice for my taste but the waitress was good about staying on tops of refills. There is a two hour time limit on the bottomless drinks and they are quite strict about making sure you abide by this timeframe. The only downside was that although they were not crazy busy, they only had one waitress working the entire restaurant and it seemed to be too many tables to keep track of for just her. This slowed down the service a bit but our waitress was pretty good about fulfilling refills when you called her over. Good experience overall, I’ll be coming back here soon!

The Copper Still is awesome. They have great happy hours and a great atmosphere for a whiskey bar. First time I was here was just to get drinks with friends. We ended up there getting food. I highly recommend the guac and chips, the Smoked Mac and cheese, the both sliders, and the buffalo chicken wings are probably my favorite with the ranch sauce. The staff is great here. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

We sat at the bar and the three of us ordered drinks off their cocktail menu. I ordered teas up, a whiskey drink. Stayed with it through round 2. Um YUM. Mac and cheese with bacon! I really enjoyed the vibe, drinks, and food of this place. The bar tender was killing it. Thanks!

I had the Mac n cheese and a couple pumpkin beers which were a great price at $ 4. The Mac and cheese was good but not great and the food menu was very small, not the menu linked to the Unilocal page. Our waitress was also fairly rude to us that is until we said we wanted food, then all of a sudden she was trying hard for those tips. The place itself has a cool vibe and would be more enjoyable when the front patio is open.

I’ve now been to The Copper Still a couple of times so its high time to get a Unilocal report brewing. If you are only now just hearing about the place, its been here for a little over a year to my knowledge and is located right near another favorite spot of mine The 13th Step. The actual plan for my friends and I was to go to the Step and catch up but it was super packed with football mayhem and I wanted to sit and my buddy had his girl with him and we all craved the chance to actually converse. Though they had a nice crowd in the pub, there were a couple of open tables so we secured one of the longer tables to enjoy some of their fare. I should mention that there is a ton of wonderful whiskey’s and bourbons available at The Copper Still but I am more of the beer and wine drinker. My pals gal loves a nice glass of wine and was very satisfied with her choices. I went with a Stella while my buddy enjoyed a perfectly poured Guinness. My friends had already eaten so it would only be food for me and I decided on the Cordon Bleu Fritters. These were tasty but I felt could have offered a couple of more in the order since they are on the small side. I would get them again but if you plan on sharing this dish you will need a second appetizer in order to be more full. The last time I had stopped here I had the burger which was excellent. The space is comfortable and the atmosphere friendly with very kind wait staff and bartenders. There is a free WiFi to enjoy and be able to keep up with your Instagrams and Tweets or letting people know where you are on Facebook. If you are down in the East Village then this is a positive experience that I recommend.

Great whiskey selection, nice ambiance, though the service was slow and not particularly friendly.

Loved everything about here. My friend and I had whiskey cocktails($ 9 during happy hour) and shared chips and guac. It was the first time we ordered the same appetizer twice and finished both plates with guacamole left over. The chips aren’t like Tostito chips — they’re like baked/fried pita bread or something — thick and well seasoned. Service was great as well. I’d definitely come back next time I’m in the area!

Kept it simple and went for an Old Fashioned with Bulleit Bourbon. It was done perfectly and the ice cubes were flawless… Yes, ice cubes can be lame at some spots and it’s a major bar bummer. I don’t know that I’d frequent the Copper Still as the atmosphere is a bit stale compared to other bars in the area but they do drinks right and that’s the priority here. Give The Copper Still a chance as an appetizer for your night out. You won’t be blown away but you’ll be given solid service and a strong drink… Hard to ask for much more than that.

Cozy bar next to the Thirteenth Step. I even came here for Halloween and was able to get a seat at the bar! Food is decent. We’ve tried the guacamole, pulled pork sliders and fries. Prices are reasonable; a cocktail runs $ 13 and a draft beer about $ 7. Good spot for a date because you’ll be able to get a table/seat easily and the volume level is low enough to hold a conversation. Also the staff is really friendly!

I was in the LES this evening and stopped in at The Copper Still for a cocktail. It looked a bit nicer than the other two bars on the block. My best luck today. Very nice bar — not all that big — about a dozen seats at the bar plus a few tables. Bartender was on his game and friendly. Background music was something current, high energy but to too loud to talk. Eight taps. I had a very nicely made Old Fashioned at the Happy Hour price of $ 9.00. It made me happy. I saw that they had a blackboard special«Copper Still Bourbon» sponsored by Angels Envy. The bartender told me that the Angels Envy company brought in four casks and allowed the staff at Copper Still to blend their own barrel of Angels Envy bourbon. I did not give it a try — I have my own bottle of Angels Envy back at the house. I was sitting opposite the bartender when he rimmed a beer glass with brown sugar and cinnamon. My curiosity got the better of me so I asked — he told me that he did the trick when serving pumpkin ale. A very nice touch. I don’t get to this part of town very often but if it is Happy Hour, I will try to stop back. Absolutely worth a visit if you live or work in the area.

Great Whiskey at a good price. The best part was that the bar wasn’t overly crowded and that I could actually talk to the people I was with. Also this bar has 1TV so you’re not missing out if you need to see a game. Overall I’d come back again if I was around.

This is one of the gems in the east village. On a pretty crowded block of bars, Copper Still holds its own because it values its customers above all. The impeccable service is really only topped by their selection of whiskeys from around the globe and their knowledge of each. Don’t just stop at the drinks because the menu is covers some great bar snacks like the wings, but also some great entrees if you’re looking for a full meal. PS — request Dave to make your cocktails… not so sure about that Brendon guy.

I loved this place! Came here last night on a Friday looking for a place I could just sit down with a drink that wasn’t too rowdy. The place wasn’t packed at all, and although it was a little loud inside, we easily got a table outside where it was quieter and we could people watch. I was surprised that it was so calm on a Friday night, but perhaps that’s because it gets overshadowed by 13th Step next door, which gives me anxiety just looking at it. If you hate dealing with drunk people stumbling all over you, and want to sit down and actually be able to hold a conversation without losing your voice, check out this bar! In terms of the drinks — a little skimpy, but that’s alright. I had a Dark n Stormy and it tasted nothing like the Dark n Stormys I’ve had in the past(it was really sweet and sour) but still good nonetheless. Also had a glass of house cabernet which was not the best but if you have high expectations for wine at a bar, that’s where you’ve gone wrong.

Had brunch here recently with my nephew. The place is clean and we sat inside by the window(great seat!) although there is outside seating on the sidewalk. Our waitress Rebecca was great — very patient and super accommodating throughout the meal. The Bloody Marys(made by Peter) were FANTASTIC! I had the veggie frittata(served in a cute little cask skillet) with a side of fries(great french fries) and my nephew had the salmon benedict w/side salad. Entrees are $ 15.95 and for an additional $ 12 per person, you can have unlimited bloody marys or mimosas. As a side note, I also appreciated the fact that the music inside the restaurant was at a great volume(i.e. not too loud). Yes, I’m old. :( I’ll definitely return — would like to try their dinner menu next.

Note to self: when you walk into a restaurant for brunch at 12 noon and there is only one other table sitting there, trust your gut and leave. That being said let me elaborate on why I was so let down with this place. The menu was pretty weak in terms of brunch options. Yea it’s nice that they include either a Bloody Mary or a mimosa with whatever entrée you choose but I was in serious need of a basic burger to cure my post birthday hangover. The menu is essentially eggs or a chicken club sandwich(which my fiancé got). The food took way longer than it should have to come out. I got the eggs Benedict with prosciutto. It was also served with a small side of potatoes. My meal was average at best. The potatoes were just ok. My fiancé did not enjoy his chicken club. The sandwich didn’t appear to be anything great but I wasn’t inclined to take a bite. The«salad» that it was served with was pathetic. It was literally mixed greens thrown on the plate. No dressing no nothing. My cousin’s husband got an order of fries which I tried and they were good. So there’s the positive in an underwhelming brunch experience. My Bloody Mary was ok. Nothing mind blowing though. With so many brunch options in the city, you’d be much better off to pass on this one.

A wonderful bar located right next to one of the worst in the city(13th Step). Unlike it’s neighbor, the Copper Still has a great selection of beers and whiskeys. Oh the whiskey selection. If you’re in the mood for a bourbon you’ve never had before, or a flight of New York State whiskeys, or just to peruse their very thick menu, then this is the place. I loved the Angel’s Envy bourbon a LOT. They also do some cocktails, which are about as expensive as you’d expect. There’s table service if the bar’s full. Our waitress was hilarious and hilariously sleep deprived. They also serve food. We didn’t have any, but the portions looked large.

The Copper Still NY: Manhattan: East Village 9pm Friday 13th September 2014 Four Stars I stopped by this bar and enjoyed whiskey flight of New York Distilleries. I had the Tirado Gold. It was alcohol forward with notes of vanilla and cream. The Still House Bourbon was smooth with notes of pepper and licorice. The Hudson Bay had nice caramel flavor. The bartenders were Irish and friendly.

Previously Ryan’s, the copper still is a new whiskey bar in the lower east. Yea I know there’s tons but! The food is really good. I’ve been going to Ryan’s so I know what they can do. This is better. Recommended: sliders and fries. I’m going to have to go, earlier in a night, maybe less buzzed. But still amazing stuff.
