We love TGIF back home, but not this one. We were sorely disappointed. We waited 45 minutes for a table. The prices are astronomical and the food was not good. After asking the waitress why the prices were almost double from other TGIF, we were told that «in season we jack up the prices because we can. There is a ton of people here and they will pay whatever we ask.» WHAT!!!
My 8 year old daughter ordered the kids’ sliders and she complained it was bad, but we told her she needed to eat it anyway. She began chewing and tears streamed down her face. So upon closer inspection, sure enough the burger was burnt to a crisp. I took a bite and tasted charcoal. Disgusting. I felt terrible for making my daughter take even 2 bites. After asking the waitress for a new burger, she was not nice about it.

As much as I would love to indulge in TGI Friday’s sodium infested heart attack inducing deep fried culinary delights-​I won’t.
Today I was out with my students (one whom is in a wheelchair and is disabled) This particular student needed to use the restroom desperately and I went in to this fine dinning establishment to ask if we could please use the restrooms. I kindly asked the «hostess» and explained our situation. She shook her head and responded «No, bathrooms are for paying customers ONLY.» (the restaurant was empty.)
Keep it classy! Funny, how we went to DSW next door and they didn’t make us buy shoes to use their facilities.

Ps-​Your food smelled disgusting!

Contrary to most reviews, the service was very fast for me. The restaurant was also clean and nicely decorated. The reason for the lack of stars is because it’s pricey and the food is not that great. Also, they only do happy hours on the first floor at the bar.

Just nice but the restaurant needs better acommodations. Service and food was good.

This is my first 1 star review I just felt it was necessary to add to the already bad score to ensure no one makes the mistake to think that this place got a bad rap. This place is mismanaged. I got there on a Saturday and I was greet by a rude hostess telling me that the kitchen is backed up and it would take about an hour to get my food and then follows up by saying they will be closing at 12am but it’s 1135pm. That math doesn’t add up. I ask for a Washington apple and I was told «we don’t have that». The servers were unhygienic doing things like wiping hands on there clothes then handing people drinks and other food items. Servers were not courteous and bartenders was very very very slow. I hope the manager that I could not find when I went looking for him to make a complaint reads this and realizes he is the reason why this restaurant is subpar. I finally saw him at the end of our visit but he was sitting at the bar hanging out not checking on the guests and not caring that the customers are in happy.

This is the worst TGIF I have ever been too. When we first arrived the hostess mentioned we had a 15 – 25 minute wait which we accepted however there is no standing room so you are constantly being bounced here and there for the entire wait in everyone’s way. Finally we headed upstairs to our table. The seating layout is strange but I guess the unique space only allows for so many tables. When we arrived the table was very sticky. We waited for quite a long while until a very sloppy waitress came and took our drink orders. It took forever to get everything, from the drinks to our entrees it was always a wait however our waitress always seemed to have time to take breaks, chat with the other waiters and look at her phone.
The biggest kicker is every time she would get us drink refills (which she was very attentive to) she always put her fingers in the glasses (gross) During this experience we also watched the busser clear the tables and then wipe what looked like a regular napkin on the table.
Whatever the reason is this place is a hot mess and a disappointment to the TGIF Franchise.

The service here sucks. The hostess was very hospitable, but the bar and the 2^nd floor attendants acted as if I didn’t exist. I sat in the bar area, and had to get up to get my own food and own drinks, next time I’ll save my money.

The worst from the beginning till the moment I walked out. Thankfully the 2 train was there and 42^nd a stop away and all the good food there. I guess when u think of tgif u think cheap and cheerful well not this place just one look at the menu you“ll be baffled I promise. If u don’t care about money or service this is for u

No thanks… I got here around 5pm on a Wednesday (I’m actually still here writing this review) and just asked to be seated at the bar. I get to the bar immediately and the bartender seems nice but continues to complain about how sleepy and hungry and what a bad night she had last night. I order a beer and some food.(sizzling chicken). About 35ish min later she comes out w some food but gives it to the guy sitting a few chairs down apologizing about something that happened earlier. He seems very surprised acknowledging that he never asked for food and he is pretty happy. I know for a fact it is the food that I had indeed ordered… My EXACT ORDER. She then looks at all the checks and realizes it was my order and looks around and it basically like «oh sh*t». She never says ANYTHING to me and instead leaves the entire bar for about 10min. I am prepared to say forget it and cash me out until she comes back with my order. which is obviously burnt EVERYWHERE. How the hell do you burn mashed potatoes?! All I tasted was burnt food. The only reason I came here was because I had a gift card (She also needed help figuring out that as well) but when she brought my food I got a very quiet «sorry bout that». Needless to say I won’t ever be recommending this place to anyone including you. Thanks and happy 2015!

TGIF is a good after party establishment, I went there after church and their baby back ribs just blew me away with a side of Cole slaw and French fries and to top it all of a caramel ice-​cream topped brownie, everything cooked to perfection. bon appetite

For a place that is suppose to be popular and famous ITS THE WORST!!! The host was a nasty person to begin with, the drinks; apple martini was the only good drink. The long island ice tea was nit made properely needed more tontadte like a, ling island ice tea. The waiter was nice BUT I had to wait 45 more for an apetizer, and another 10 more minutes on top of this to get my dinner. Half of the people dinning in here this day were either pissed and yelling out «where’s my food WE are HUNGRY!»
First and last experience here, service on a scale of 0 – 10 rated a 2, Food 6 (depends what you get) drinks 7. Overall I wouldn’t recommend you coming here, go else where you’ll get a better deal for your money’s worth.

We were so happy to sit down and to order something.
The menus were not brought we had to find them on our own
Ordered one Cider one table water, a salad and a burger, everything was fine, my age was checked for the Cider, great. But here it will stop.
After 30 Minutes no drinks no meals… I already hat to drink the water I brought with me from outside the restaurant. The manager was already ordered to another table but we still waited. Asked one of the employees and he said he will check. Nothing… Asked another employee, same situation but instead of checking he picked up the orders of other guests… Somewhen about 45 minutes after ordering, our food was brought. Yeah the food but no drinks. The salad was brought with less ingredients than written in the menu and without dressing!!! Cutlery? Why? Nobody needs it to eat. Another guests stood up and brought it us!
Asking for the drinks We got the information that they don’t have any cider and were brought two table water only…
We asked for the manager as nobody wanted to help us. He said he will take care of it but did not come back to us. We had to ask several times again. While one person had the burger the other one had to wait — unacceptable!
One employee came somewhen to ask who picked up our order and then apologized that another employee picked it up and didn’t tell anybody about it. Both unprofessional, the employee who picked up the order and the lady who tried to apologize with this reason.
We were then asked if they can do anything else for us and we requested hot chips as they were already cold from waiting … The salad and additional chips were brought. The salad was not really tasty and for the employees was everything fixed with this. While a lot of guests complaint they laughed — the manager included!
We got 2 coupons for our next visit when they are more settled (was told us like that!). Sry but which tourist can use them? And I’m sure nobody who was this evening in, will return! Some guests left as they didn’t get their orders too.
In the end the whole stuff was unpolitely. We were asked by the manager if we want to destroy them as we did not accept to pay the full amount. No sorry to us, we had to justify. No good bye no additional sorry.
Dear regional manger of TGIF if you wanna keep this restaurant alive hire a new manager and new employees or teach them and not only for 1 day.
Not the guest is here the king, it’s more like the employees try to play children’s theater.

No line on a Friday? Not a good start. But hey, we were hungry.
Get seated and wait about 20 mins for menus.
Another 15 to get some water.
Then another 10 or so just to order.
Hey, can I have a burger?
Sorry, we have no burgers.
Ok, lemme have a steak. No steak.
Can I have a rum and coke? No rum …
At some point it’s like well how about u tell me what u do have
Even the server said she wish she didn’t work there. Haha.

This place is horrible. Mid meal a roach crawled on my table. This place should be burned to the ground.

Menu is typical for this restaurant but not the price or the service. I was surprised to find the place somewhat empty at linch time on a Monday. This is unusual for NYC. Ordered. Rubin sandwich which arrived 25 minutes later! Come on guys it’s just a Rubin.
I guess if you are looking for an uncrowded spot on a Monday…
BTW the sandwich cost $ 18.00

Well I will say the guy that serve us was pretty nice even tho I was a bit mad because everything I ordered they don’t have it but I know it’s not his fault.

This place is the slowest most overpriced excuse for an eatery I’ve come across in recent years. How are you gonna take an HOUR to serve my appetizer and then turn around and charge me 15% gratuity… I oughta punch you in the face…
Save your time and money… This place, is NOT worth it…

A friend and I went to TGI Fridays on 8^th Ave this past Friday, and I promise it wasn’t my idea. Typically you can expect a chain like Fridays to be like «Meh.» However on this visit it was even worse. Upon entering the establishment, a few of the patrons were unreasonably loud for no good reason considering they were all stand/​sitting a foot from one another. And that was just he start. Another party came in right after and was even louder.
The Jack Strips were not too good, clearly not the highest quality product. They were mostly breaded and were a bit over cooked on top of that.
The mozzarella sticks were spot on. These seemed to always be a good choice and the one consistent bright spot.
The potato skins were kind of cold.
Wings were okay, but hey, this is Friday’s.
The drinks, which weren’t bad, made the entire experience tolerable. Soon the food was passable and the loud patrons indistinguishable.

The worst dinner I have ever had. I’m never going to Friday’s again. First off, took 15 mins for us to get our drinks and all the prices are jacked up b/​c it’s in NYC. $ 19 for a burger, really? So we just ordered apps which took 20 mins. 20 mins for nachos and a chip/​dip appetizer and the place was empty. Had to flag down another waitress to get plates.
Then it took forever for us to get our check. I could have swore I saw our waiter leaving. Another waiter brought us the check and denied that our waiter left. My kids kept telling us to leave without paying. The children’s meal was $ 10 for a tiny cup of spaghetti with butter, which appeared to be just reheated as some of the pasta was hard.
Bathroom disgusting, and the place smelled as soon as you walked in, like it had not been cleaned.

TGIF. It’s a franchise. so the foods & drinks are all pretty much the same been to one. been to all… HOWEVER… I try hard not to go to these franchise spots in the city because they take it too far on the prices. Tourist Trap! If you eat at a TGIF in the middle of Long Island that bill which you paid over $ 100 for two would only be $ 60. So if you have a nice group and you don’t mind spending extra. it’s a decent spot. P. S… For some reason it was kind of odd to me that dudes where waiters and they wore baseball caps… & some of the waiters & waitresses looked so dirty. When handling people’s food the company should hire or tell their staff to clean it up.
