Staff was very attentive and helpful, but the only downfall that i found was that the loose leaf tea is fairly expensive for the amount that you get. Might be more of a trendy place for tea lovers, but as a newbie or casual drinker, i think it’s a bit overpriced

Just want to give a shout out to the people at this store. Great experience and introduced to new teas. Big shout out and love to Andrew, tea-ologist, who made me a blend that was some yummy that I am giving him the title of «Tea-stud». Go in.

Manhattan is seemingly designed nowadays to bury you in coffee. There’s Starbucks and a ton of other coffee places — but what about tea? One answer is Teavana. Currently owned by Starbucks, this chain has over 400 locations and one of them is in the Upper West Side. The lure of this store is instant. Outside the store are usually two containers of hot and cold teas for you to sample. I can honestly say I’ve never had one of these samples and been disappointed. This draws you into the store, which is *not* at all like a Starbucks. Instead, there are a lot of accessories revolving around tea including kettles, cups, infusers and more. It takes some time to absorb it all, so take your time. Note: there are usually one or two *more* samples for you to try inside the store. Aside from the accessories, you can by tea by the pound. Now, this isn’t Lipton tea bags we’re talking about here. You’re going to pay a pretty hefty price for these specialty teas so brace yourself and be sure you ask about prices first! I think some of the flavors are definitely worth it. In addition to all this, you can order tea to go. There’s nowhere to sit and enjoy it however. What’s nice is the tea is usually made to order so you know it’s freshly steeped. I really enjoy visiting this Teavana location and recommend you check it out too.

Place is chic… many different teas to try… staffs are helpful and friendly. Kamila, one of the sales, loves her job… she knows her tea n share it with the customers. Bought almost 100usd worth of tea… time flies and very easy to overspend at this place Wish that there is such a shop in my hometown. .maybe few more years from now

I’m as big of a skeptic as anyone about artisanal tea, but I stopped in hoping to find a cup more interesting that what Starbucks across the street might have. The salesperson I worked with was awesome — he patiently listened to my story about my ideal caffeine level(I’m super sensitive to caffeine, but still like it) and made some white tea suggestions. He let me smell a bunch and then suggested a combo I would never normally consider — silver needle white tea and pink lemonade herbal tea(?!). it’s a testament to how tired I was that I went for it… I typically run the other way from overly fruit flavored anything. He talked me into getting 4oz of the blend and taking a cup of a different tea(which was also delicious — jasmine silver needle white tea). I’m sitting at home drinking my first cup of silver needle/pink lemonade blend and it. is. *delicious*. I know! I’m surprised too! but he totally nailed it. the herbal tea is, from what I can tell, a mix of dried strawberries, lemon rinds(?), and some other herbal stuff. maybe a little hibiscus? anyway. it’s delicious, especially with the white tea in the background(keeps it earthy and grounded). it was also an extremely pleasant experience overall — the store is clean and calm, and I was the only customer there for most of the time. minus one star because it is unbelievably expensive — I paid $ 40 for 4 oz of tea, a $ 6 tin(in hindsight I probably didn’t need that, I could have used an old tomato sauce jar or something), 100 tea bags(so I can have delicious tea in my travel mug), and a cup of tea to go. next time I’ll just take the tea in a bag, and this morning I discovered that my french press(for the coffee I can no longer drink) is perfect for the tea I have so hopefully the bags will last me a winter’s worth of tea-to-go.

This is not a hang out with friends place. It is specialty tea store with some brewed tea as samplers. They have a wide selection of tea organized by type and labelled– I found my favorite Yunan Gold tea leaves and also discovered the Golden Monkey Imperial Black tea. There is a lot of choices for herbal and fruity teas. My golden yunan turned out to be old and stale. I think they are inconsistent and don’t replace their unsold stocks for long periods. Either that or they definitely have Yunan Gold wrong. Also there are tea pots, mugs and cups in cast iron, ceramic and glass on sale– pretty good collection.

#healthyourself Welcome to the heaven of tea. The Teavana store is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous, yet functional tea mugs, delicate tea sets and beautiful tea kettles. The potpourry of tea is incredible. Anything you wish, you dream of, you imagine is there. Best price in town for imperial grade matcha green tea powder. $ 34.95 for 80gr. Worth every penny. If you are looking to replace your coffee in the morning with a healthier alternative, matcha is IT. It is super-rich in L-theanine, an amino acid with anti-anxiety properties and is a proven mood enhancer. Go get some. :) #healthy

The good news is their tea is delicious. The bad news is its worth it’s weight in gold… and they don’t tell you that until the tea is on the scale and you’re handing them your credit card. I wouldn’t mind paying so much for tea(it IS delicious) if they hadn’t been so underhanded about it. Price wasn’t even mentioned until I was ready to pay. I don’t take well to such manipulative tactics in a business.

I am a tea lover so I was very excited to have this place open. I drink tea at least once at day. They have a wide variety of quality tea. There are MAJOR issues however: 1) The tea accessories are not high quality. I bought a very expensive travel mug with a strainer inside. The outside of the mug is peeling and I’ve only had it for about a month. Very disappointed. 2) Needs a menu– it’s nearly impossible to figure out what tea is caffeinated, what inside of it. Instead, you have to guess once you get to a spot at the counter. I always feel rushed and uncomfortable. If they had an extensive menu, then customers could look before they get to the counter. Then, at counter, they can sniff the ones they think they like, and purchase. Waste of time to have customers asking«what’s in this?» «is there caffeine» for EVERY tea. (They have dinky little paper menus that do no describe the teas) 3) The services are all over the place — I had no idea that they served iced tea until I saw a girl walk out with one. That is a huge service to offer but they do not market it. What teas can I purchase? Why do cashiers make the teas instead of their own«barista»? Why not have a list posted so we can know that we can buy the tea brewed? How much does it even cost? 4) Cost — WAY too expensive. No prices are listed. I got an herbal tea in a bag that was ½ full and it cost $ 21!!! Why? Half a bag of tea for $ 21!!! Outrageous. Teavana needs to drop prices and market their services. More customers at a lower price would bring in same revenue, and perhaps more because so many people do not return. They need menus of their tea displayed for waiting customers; a clear menu posted of teas brewed to go; better tea merchandise and lowered prices. Until then, don’t bother unless it’s a gift.

Their iced tea is like crack to me! I just purchased berry kiwi colada for the summer time. Henry, the sales assistant, is very helpful… and of course and great salesperson. But i don’t mind because i couldn’t be more happy with my hot/cold tea pitcher. He taught me how to steep sangria using tea leaves. Which now, will be my go to beverage of choice.(In case you are wondering:¼ cup tea, 1⁄8 or ¼ c. of rock sugar, and 1 bottle of wine, add club soda to glass, and some frozen fruit for garnish!)

I love tea. Like LOVETEA. Teavana is clearly a chain and they’ve recently opened up a location on the Upper West Side. They have a wide variety of products and the regular teas. The customer service is great: a few weeks ago I got a tea to go and jumped on a train downtown before it cooled down enough to drink. I started to sip it and proceeded to throw it out because it was way too sugary. I was too far away(and too lazy) to bring it back. The following week, I went back to this location, told them what happened and they replaced it, no questions asked(I didn’t even have my receipt). I also like how Teavana diversified with their UES and UWS location.
